So what do you say?
Kane’s words echo through Gino’s mind, accusations he didn’t take lightly against people he felt some form of fondness for but the Don couldn’t lie to himself.
He knew she spoke nothing but truth.
But he knew he wouldn’t…he couldn’t do a single thing without consulting his family first. So he asked her to wait, offering her a first class ticket to something outsiders never have seen before.
A Carelli Family meeting.
It took a few hours but soon the entire family had filtered into the Carelli Family Restaurant, not just the capos and soldiers but the very staff of the restaurant too. Even Kane herself looks surprised at the near two hundred strong packed into the singular room as all their attentions are fixated on the raised stage at the back of the room. Jonathon and Carlos to his left, Adriana to his right, the Don stands there, observing the room for a moment, staring out at the crowd.
The people who ran here at his very call, leaving their friends, families, loved ones even in these turbulent times. He hated to have to do so but this was not a decision taken lightly.
So he talked, he informed them all on what Ms Kane told him, the allegations levied at a close friend and his…associate. The breaking of sacred rules and the only outcome that made sense.
Felix Foley was now a pariah. Exiled from any Family business, he was invisible to all, almost like he never existed in the first place. And Stubbins Doom was public enemy number one, the first to fall the moment they had the chance.
Most were not happy with this outcome. Stubbins was an overbearing arrogant dick who was only tolerated for Felix’s case but Felix? The pure hearted kind man who couldn’t hurt a living soul? None believed this, none wanted this. They cried for clemency, begged for more information, irrefutable proof, anything to save their friend.
The Don listened to them all, normally this Family decides together, normally he wouldn’t overrule them but as he looks to his left, his brother and would be son abandoned by those they should have been able to trust, thrown away like garbage for no reason other then daring to exist, his blood ran cold.
He looks to his right, tears forming in his eyes as he remembers pulling his daughter from the debris, terrified that he wouldn’t be able to tell her he loved her for the first time before she faded away. He feels the white hot rage fill him as he looks at Ms Kane and nods.
What do I say?
They broke the cardinal rule, you don’t hurt family and live to tell the tale.
The meeting adjourns as one by one, his family greets him, begging to understand, trying to sway him to see sense and he listens to them all. But his mind is made up.
The Besties are dead to the Carelli family.
And at Vendetta, what he does to them has nothing to do with business.
For Albert, for Victor…and for his own family.
This is strictly personal.
