As The House Crumbles

In Gino Carelli, Promo by Gino Carelli

Loyalty’s a funny thing, you think you know someone, you feel grateful in their very presence in one moment and the next, they’re at your feet swallowing back their own blood. I’d say it’s only something in my line of work but Olympus ain’t all that different really.

See before the Carelli Family, there were two main families in crime, the Lucchese which I was a junior Capo underneath and the dickheaded, louse, filthy low down bastards the DiMeo’s. See they came around fresh, big dicked assholes probably sent around by old zappy and wrathful to keep the old Don in check as we fought over the slightest pieces of the pie that we were allowed.

People shot in the street, kidnappings in broad daylight, districts in absolute chaos, an absolute gang war about to explode and although we could’ve squashed those pissants with sheer numbers, Tommy was tired of the blood shed so he called a truce. A way for everyone to win in the end so it were as he wanted to merge the families into one.

As you can imagine, that went down as well as as a gimp at a nuns Klan meeting. But those who objected the loudest were taken care of as the rest of us were told to deal with it for the greater good. It was the first time I saw how weak old Tommy was, how unworthy of being the Don he was but I could see the single brick holding this fragile alliance up so I knew it was only a matter of time before it all collapsed.

All it took was one of the boys not wanting to give up their territory to a green rookie barely old enough to hold a gun and the fire ignited. So I did the only thing my loyalty could do, I put Tommy out to pasture before he could do the same to me, took control and squashed the DiMeo’s like the bug they were, like he should’ve done.

Because the thing is Calypso, loyalty goes a long way but it doesn’t trump survival. And you doll, you’re walking headfirst into Hades with how hard you dickride Tombstone and you don’t even know it.

This whole House of Judgement was crumbling before it even began cause your little master wants to destroy every little bit of humanity and last I checked, Zeus was human. They both want power and they both ain’t giving it up so it’s only a matter of time before that House folds in on itself.

And the only way to survive the fallout is to realise your loyalty only goes one way against a monster who cares about nothing but destruction.

Cause otherwise, Calypso, you’ll just be like Tommy. The first piece of ammo in a war of control.

And as you’re seething back down in Hades, even the raw hatred burning inside of you won’t be able to erase the truth.

You made the wrong choice. That ain’t personal, it’s just fucking stupid.
