Born Again

In Promo, The Burned Man by The Burned Man

“You’ve buried countless bodies six feet beneath the earth. If I had to guess, the experience is a bit like drowning.”

“Every shovelful of dirt thrown upon a body comes crashing in on them like a wave from the Odyssey Pool. It traps them deeper and deeper in until there’s no possible way they could escape.”

“The earth fills their lungs like water, making it impossible to breathe after a certain amount of time has passed. Not to mention the added weight that makes it harder to stand up and pull themselves out.”

“Most of the time, the bodies that are buried are dead and in a coffin. But what if they weren’t dead or trapped in a casket? What if they were still alive and had to experience the crashing of the soil on their bodies?”

“Much like the deceased you bury, you’d expect it to remain trapped in the ground. The lack of oxygen and the tons of dirt that crush their body make it highly unlikely that they’d claw their way out.”

“However, someone did. Someone managed to dig their way out from all that soil and escape the potential drowning. Someone managed to flee from the fate you tried to create for them just last month.”

“That someone was me, Tombstone.”

“You had me join you and your crusade against humanity. You attempted to bury me six feet under, drowning me in anger, in hatred. All because you find the people you ferry disgusting.”

“At the time, I was convinced that your movement was the only way I could deliver justice. I was buried so deep within your falsities that I was almost content to be laid to rest. However, I had quickly realized how far I had fallen.”

“That’s when I began to dig my way out. I swam through the waves of dirt you began to pile onto me. Although it was tiring, I never allowed myself to give in to your deceit. I clawed through all six feet of that gravesite you’ve dug for me and the rest of your goons.”

“Finally, I’m free. I pierced through the ground you buried me in and I can breathe once more. Now that I’m not drowning in your lies, I realize that I need to bring you to justice one way or another.”

“You’ve tried to tip the scales of justice in your favor with your falsehoods. Now that I’m free from your grip, I’m going to make you burn for trying to control me like you are with the rest of the men you’ve buried.”

“The fires of truth and justice will burn through your lies like gunpowder. Once your dishonesty has been reduced to ash and you’re forced to tell the truth the rest of Six Feet Under will either climb their way out of the grave of lies too or be casualties to the flames of justice.”

“Either way, the scales await you. Now that my mind is clear, I will balance them once more.”
