“Look at you now..”
[Jasper Redgrave slowly paces across the cage from Tombstone. Though he was able to escape The Gallery, he stood there worse for ware. Jasper eyes him, a smirk twisting into his facial features. The next word from his mouth drips with venom.]
“Pathetic.”
[Jasper’s eyes cut through him just as easily as his scapple. The Artist looking over the cuts and bruises that he caused, admiring his own work of art.]
“You were once the most feared entity in all of Arcadia.”
“I guess you could say I was a bit jealous of you, at one time.”
[He admits. His hands clasp behind his back as he continues his pace back and forth, speaking freely.]
“Sure, the people of Arcadia have come to be scared of me. They’re scared of what I’m capable of. They wait in anxiety, scared of when I might strike next. But they don’t fear me.”
[He lowers his head a bit.]
“Not like they feared Tombstone.”
“You were once a man that struck fear into the hearts of man. The mere mention of the name Tombstone brought chills to the spines of those who dare oppose it. When The Ferryman cometh, those less fortunate souls cowered in terror.”
“But Tombstone died, didn’t he, Ezra?”
“All those months ago, when your lackey turned his back on you. Tombstone died.”
[Redgrave lets those words soak for a long, silent moment.]
“When Tombstone returned, as he always does, he wasn’t the same man he used to be.”
“He had become soft.“
“No longer did the mention of his name carry the same weight it once did.”
“For the first time, Tombstone was.. beatable.”
[His eyes shoot daggers in Tombstone’s direction.]
“For the first time, Tombstone wasn’t at the top of the food chain. For the first time, the top of the food chain had been vacated.“
[He chuckles dryly. It’s eerie.]
“I’m coming for the top of that chain, Ezra.”
“Tonight, here at Carnevil, a new horror is born.”
“When my name comes up in conversation, it will strike fear in the hearts of those who bare witness to it’s sound.”
“You’re weak. You’re helpless. You’re fragile.”
“And in this moment, you’re mine.”
[His eyes look down at the lacerations once more.]
“This time, there’s no group of masked vigilantes to interrupt my work.”
“It’s just me and you inside this cage.”
“And at the end of the night, you’ll truly be my greatest masterpiece.”
[He grins.]
“And you can bet all the credits in your pocket that I’ll finish what I started.”
“After tonight, it’ll be the name of The Artist that causes men to tremble in their boots.”
“When I dangle you in front of all Arcadia like a true work of art, it will be me that stands at the top of the food chain.”
[An evil chuckle is given.]
[His hand raises to cup over his mouth. As if he was licking his chops and wiping away his mouth.]
“And I’m mighty, mighty hungry.”
