The scene opens with Locke walking around the remnants of an old circus. He picks up a poster advertising ‘Come see the Worlds Largest Man’ with the poster depicting an obsese man smiling, walking a tight rope.
“When I look at you Mighty, I envy you. That is a sin that I confess to, and I will transgress for that sin. But I envy you. You walk around like the big oaf that you are oblivious to the decay of the world around you. Dancing in blissful ignorance while I We, I’m here too have to carry a burden of cleansing this forsaken landscape of the sin that festers from the bottom right up to Olympus”
Locke slows tears up the poster and throws the pieces into the air.
“You dont belong here Mighty, you never have and you never will. You belong here in the circus with the rest of the freaks of this world. The world will come to stop and stare as you dance around for their amusement. They dont laugh with you Mighty, they laugh at you. You are not the life nor soul of a party but merely the hired clown brought in for the children to laugh.”
Locke takes out the puzzle box and holds it out in front of him.
“Tell me something Mighty, when you dance around like a little puppet on a string for people, what does it give you? Do is truly bring you happiness or do you lie in bed at night and wallow in self pity at how pathetic you are? You have a chance to be saved Oh this again to let me save you and show you that there are more important things in this world than being a jester at a Kings Court!”
He moves towards a cage and puts his hands on the bars.
“It’s poetic being here in the circus of yesteryear, a tiger would lie here alone. He would be patient. He would have the eyes of hundreds of people on him but he wouldnt care and he wouldnt pay attention to them. He would look at his prey and wait.. patiently, waiting for the opportune moment to strike and strike true he would. May not be that day, may not even be that week, but he had all the time in the world. I have that luxury of time Mighty. People look at me and see a string of defeats.. but it’s nothing to me but static. The opportune moment is around the corner.”
Locke takes the box and turns it to hear a series of clicks and a small marking appears in the middle with a faint red glow.
“It seems the answers to this mystery are also close This cage wont hold me for much longer and you know it and it could come at your expense. I pity you dancing fool, and I will make sure to eviscerate all fun and joy from your existence and make you see that the world around you is broken and you’ll be begging me to save it and you!”
