Inside a dark room, we see Colt Ramsey staring at a wall filled with pictures, a look of misery on his face.
“I’ve spent so much of my life documenting the very best and the very worst of Arcadia,” says the Journo, his voice hoarse and emotional. “And I’ve just about seen everything. The beautiful and the terrifying. The glorious and the grotesque.”
We get a glimpse of the photos Ramsey is staring at, gruesome and disturbing.
“I’ve been places that no one else wanted to go, searching for the truth. That’s all I’ve ever wanted…the truth.”
“They say the truth shall set you free, but all the truth ever really got me was trouble. I’ve been ignored, lambasted, fired, and cast away for my pursuit of honesty…left with no one to turn to.”
“Men like me suffer for our technique…but those who hide the truth? They get celebrated, lifted up by those with similar mindsets…those who are just as eager to lie and scheme.”
Colt reaches toward the wall, pulling one of the photographs down. There’s a notable disgust in his eyes as he looks at the grisly scene captured within.
“This poor woman was eviscerated,” he states, pointing to the details with a slight snarl on his lips. “Torn limb from limb by a brutal, ritualistic killer who made a point to put his handiwork on display.”
“A display no doubt admired by the likes of The Uprising, who saw his ability to escape the consequences of his horrendous acts as an example to follow. It’s no wonder Narcy and her crew took so well to the Artist…they sync well in their malice.”
Ramsey turns his attention away from the photo in his hand, looking back to the wall as he recalls the details behind several more pictures, each displaying the depths Redgrave will sink to for his art.
“Fleeing from the reach of justice made Jasper quite popular with his friends,” the Journo remarks. “Every passing moment where he isn’t dead or behind bars leaves a scar on the souls of those he’s affected.”
“A man like Jasper Redgrave doesn’t have to suffer the indignity of truth, allowed to turn the page on his life in peace…while someone like me suffers for telling the people who he really is.”
“But I refuse to go away quietly,” Colt continues, pulling more of the photos down from the wall. “Not before I’ve had a chance to turn the page on my story.”
“The people may have turned their back on me, but I cannot stand here and turn my back on them. I have a chance to make things right, by taking the fight to the Artist…and tear his canvas apart.”
“Your friends won’t save you from my wrath, Jasper. I’m done suffering for the sake of the truth…now, it’s your turn.”
Colt turns away from the wall, a glint of hope in his eye.
“The people want justice, and I have to give the people what they want.”
