“One time a man walked up to Nature with his head lowered and asked in a humble tone. ‘May I borrow a fruit so I may plant the seed and have my village prosper?’ Nature in its grace lowered its branches so that the fruit was easier to collect”
“Then came the cold winter months. The animals had prepared but man… well they had not prepared for such an eventuality so the same man head down begged Nature ‘May we take the furs and meats of some of your kin so that we may survive’ Nature in its generosity allowed this. So that Mankind would survive.”
“Then came the final day, where that man walked up, head raised towards the daylight. Demanded to Nature ‘Move aside so that we may erect buildings where you stand now.’”
She looked from the shade of the tree in which she sat down over to the city in the distance. Letting out a small sigh.
“That day marked the arrogance of Mankind. The day they saw themselves as beyond Nature. The day that they dyed the gifted furs unnatural colors. Built towers to try to breach the sky, and took more than they could ever give back.”
“All those years later, Mankind spat out you Narcissa. A shining beacon of what everyone would want to see in Mankind. Someone who is at the top of the social ladder, rubbing shoulders with the Gods themselves. People would fall over themselves to have even a sliver of the success that you have had.”
“And yet you are still hungry for more.”
“It’s the folly of man. The search for more even when that more may never exist. So they waste their entire lives waiting for the moment to plunge a dagger directly into the back of their allies for no purpose other than it gets them one step higher than the other man. This what you stand, the shining beacon of! Mankind taking from each other now that they have taken everything from Nature.”
“Then again, Nature never had the ability to take back what was once theirs now did they?”
“And so I stand, the sword of Nature. Here to not just protect but reclaim what was once theirs. And I will rectify a wrong that should’ve been changed generations ago. I will deliver Nature the head of the Arrogant Human. For nothing may grow from your unnatural dyes, but a singular flower may bloom from where your body may lay”
“For you have mistaken the ring as another part of your kingdom. A palace where you may rule and act however you please. But it is a place ruled by survival of the fittest.”
“It is in fact my hunting ground.”
