“Female, Lived alone, spent her time hiking, and watched fireworks with her college friends over a case of beer. Was the last one to keep up that tradition. So most of the time she was alone. But most of all”
Wolf Fang Ayame lifted up the open book and slammed it shut.
“She loved nature. No, in fact she cherished it, cleaning up garbage and planting flowers. She always had a fondness for the yellow ones. By all accounts she had a normal life. So when demons tore her body apart. The gods of nature found it fit to reinforce her soul by infusing it with that of the wolf. The messenger of the gods. To help protect that which she loved, to give her a second chance at life. She was not a random pick, a random name from a hat. She was chosen for a good reason, she was chosen because her actions in life were careful and constructive.”
“However a dragon would never understand that would you? Greedy, destructive, selfish? Everything that can describe a dragon… it’s only there to describe someone who is selfish and uncaring. Apathetic to the world except for if something affects them.”
She spat on the ground indignant as she began flexing her claws.
“You stand there hiding amongst your horde of underlings. And dare say that you know better. You stand before the guardian of nature. And say that your way is better for the soul of Hana. Arrogance.”
“Not just that, but you take away the one thing she has left. Her face. She cannot walk among the mortals and you demand she wears a mask and loses every bit of identity she once had. Such greed and callousness could only come from a dragon who doesn’t care for the well being of a human. But rather just wants another underling for his horde.”
“Hana is far more than an underling, she is currently one half of an alpha hunter. One half of the only thing stopping the groves from being razed by invading forces. Her loyalty matched that of a wolf.”
Ayame stands up with sharp teeth showing huffing.
“And thus you have threatened that which I have sworn to protect. The ever delicate deal that had been made. She protects the forest, and in return I protect her. I will not let Hana’s sacrifice be in vain. That is the loyalty that I afford her.”
“And I will damn sure make sure that she will never fall into the waiting hands of a dragon. Like a dragon always does, they overstep their boundaries blinded by their greed. And it’s up to the wolf to set them back in their rightful place. For they have reached for what they are not allowed to have. My final breath will be for the girl who planted yellow flowers. For her name is Hana and she will never be forgotten as long as I breathe.”
