Bad Blood

POP OF THE NIGHT: Going to go for a good two fer actually with Dip Your Toes/Always a Pool Boy. I won't lie that my marking out for DOOM in this was such a fun bit. TBM had been through a wringer both literally and in the segment, but it's punctuated by something that I don't think DOOM's handled to deal with: kindness. That not being the isolated mad genius and being friends showed sympathy, that there was a sense of understanding that distinctly felt like it had been planted by Foley. Like fuck man, I'd read that kind of stuff day in and out if possible. Fuckin fantastic stuff.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • What kind of anomaly is Mr. Sunshine?
  • How many people are affected  by Foley's Puppet vision?
  • How's CJ gonna face Narcissa again?
  • What's gonna happen to El Mariachi Muerte when he returns without Paragon's death?
  • How do Ezekiel and Ol Morningstar know each other?

HAVE YOUR SAY: It was a fun feud, and had a wonderful wrap up! Can't say I'm too terribly surprised by the fact the kid ran away from something worse, but it had a fun twist in the end for sure! Can't wait to see what the future brings forth!

POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)

Listen to Me

I really enjoyed this segment because who hasn’t experienced having/giving a friend advice that they/you refuse to take.  Man, this made me have the feels about my younger years trying to give my younger brother advice and having him roundly ignore it.  Then letting him know after he repeatedly made the same fuck up that he would be on his own if he kept poking the same bear but it didn’t mean I cared for him any less.

BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)

What’re the Corporation going to do to Hatch?

Can EMM keep Paragon’s mouth shut?

Who needed that hug more, Sunshine or Nox?

What will the next act in Redgrave’s movie look like?

HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)

Nox: The reason for my question is something I’ve always suspected.  Did the Blues actually effect Sunshine and is he just surviving on will power.  I am so curious about this story and wonder what a sad Sunshine would be like.

Harold: Still convalescing, and is “Sir Not Appearing in the Program”.

POP OF THE NIGHT:

Giving this to the big Powerbomb off the cell and Foley getting right back up after having something whispered into his ear by his momma. That was a surprisingly badass moment that had me believing that Foley could defeat Tombstone right then and there. While we know he didn't, I was convinced for a second that he could. It was such a cool moment that I had to put that as my pop.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

How does Paragon know about the truth behind that door? Where was he when Helios, Grimskull, and Drewitt were sealed within and doomed to die? Will revealing the truth really set everyone free, or will it create more problems? This character has only been in two segments and I'm excited to find out more about him!

Why is Mama Foley so dead set on preventing Felix from reading the diary? There was something about an apple there that I'd like to know, but she's preventing her son from going any further. What is it about that fruit that she doesn't want him to know about?

What are the Corporation going to do to Hatchet now that he's their hostage? They might've been a bit too quick on the draw with the knock out gas, but they've made their decision and have to deal with the consequences. One of which being the Gathering being on their ass when they know where he went and what happened to him. Maybe the Corporation has a plan to deal with them too?

HAVE YOUR SAY:

TBM - Well, somehow Doom was convinced to let the Burned Man go after what looked like a certain dip in the pool. Maybe DOOM's heart has grown three sizes after seeing Maxwell's crying and pleading not to be thrown in? Whatever the case may be, it's nice to see him not become Blaze and potentially go to kill his son again. Not sure what's next for him though. Whatever it might be, however, I'm eager to find out!

Calypso - I'm happy to see Calypso's still her usual, creepy self. Her climbing out of the grave like that at the end was quite an image. Not to mention her using her magic to pull Gravedigger and Malakai out of the graves they were buried in was an awesome moment as well. Sure she didn't say anything, but she didn't really need to. This segment was more about establishing Narcissa as the next challenger to Thorpe's title while making Tombstone look like a beast by accepting a match with Jackson. In a boiler room brawl match nonetheless! I'm excited to see where things go for House of Judgement and the Cades in the future!

POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)

It has to be Foley's moment.

I think this whole concept of Foley vs Tombstone has led to this big moment. Tombstone is that power that is beyond any mortal person's stopping it, but Foley has just got to the point where he'll try anything to get his revenge.

You can practically hear Foley's cries of "Do I look like a pebble now?"

The Powerbomb off the HIAC is definitely one of the key defining moments of this Season.

BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)

  • What now for Foley and Tombstone - the history of Foley and Fernicus. The Diary? Oh man, I want more.
  • What happens now for SFU after they were both buried? What now for the Cade brothers? There's tension everywhere!

HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)

SUNSHINE

Healed with a hug? Hmm. It's more a burning question than anything, but what does all of this mean for Sunshine now? Last week he really showed a vicious side of him when he felt like 'a few rainclouds needed to come' before Nox saw the sun. Is that Nox's influence, and will it continue? Or is Sunshine immune to the gas, and there's something deeper going on here?

I'm keen to see what Creative have next for him.

EMM

That question of 'Where exactly is EMM'? Wasn't lost on me during the month. But to see him back at that door, and Paragon entering the fray properly. This could lead somewhere really cool. I loved the power of influence that Paragon has. What a cool character.

POP OF THE NIGHT:

Gonna have to agree with the majority and go Tombstone/Foley. What a match! Many props to the writer of that one, was on the edge of my seat.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

- Why didn't DOOM make TBM go for a dip in the pool and will he regret it?

- What's in the diary, Momma Foley?!

- Why did Sunshine only want a hug?

HAVE YOUR SAY:

In the words of one, Jim Ross; business is getting ready to pick up! Extremely intrigued to see where my story goes, as it's turning into a good one.

As always, loving my time here so far.

POP OF THE NIGHT:

I thought the same as most about the Tombstone and Foley HIAC moment but I don't want to follow the crowd so I'll draw attention to the Hatchet boardroom segment that surprised me. Hatchet thought he was in a position of power to negotiate and found out quick that he isn't. I'm thinking this is the beginning of the corporation unravel that'll lead us to the truth.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Will Muerte find out what Zeus did?
  • Will Paragon reveal the truth?
  • What's with the apple and Foley?

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Not much on this show for Midnight re the story. It was pretty well sown up last week and led nicely to the match. I'd like to see more usage of the OWLS going forward. Malakai isn't someone who'll do a ton of his own dirty work, but put people in position to do that. The Cops and APD setting up the brothers was the perfect example of that.
