End Of Year Speech

This year has probably been one of the toughest we’ve had. Old School Wrestling has rarely been plagued by drama or issues, but this past year saw one or two.

We’ve had foxes inside the hen house, friends betray our trust and friendships end because they weren’t as valued as we thought they were.

In the end, it did nothing but make Old School Wrestling stronger. You’d think losing good hands on the back end of production would’ve slowed us down, but it didn’t. People stepped up. You’d have thought that losing established handlers would’ve dented our prospects, but it didn’t. Others came in and they stepped up.

Old School Wrestling has been trundling along for nigh on ten years now. In February 2025, we’ll celebrate exactly that. We’ve produced 526 shows, millions of words and have had hundreds of handlers walk through our doors. Some of those we sincerely miss.

However, I won’t stop.

For as long as there’s a desire for Old School Wrestling to keep going and I’m alive, fit and able, I won’t stop producing. I won’t be closing those doors. I won’t be saying goodbye. I know there’s many of you who feel the same.

I want to thank everyone on the roster for a phenomenal year of entertainment and friendship. In every aspect of OSW, I couldn’t ask for more. The creative team, myself included, work so hard to produce the best storylines and segments we can for the handlers on the roster. It’s not easy coming up with engaging storylines that represent your characters well.

Hell, I’ll tell you first hand that it’s not easy delivering you events like Red Snow every single year for ten years and keeping you engaged and excited for the next. The work that goes into such a thing mentally, let alone putting ‘pen to paper’ as it were, is monumental. Creative understand a portion of that on a smaller scale and produce week in week out all year round. I couldn’t do it without them. I wouldn’t want to.

Laner, Hayden, Dawson, Damo and Jin – thank you so much for everything you do.

The match writing team, as difficult of a task as it can be, ensure that every single week we have matches to display for the roster. Zac, Dawson, Hayden, Laner, Bryno and Robbie – thank you so much for everything you do.

And then there’s the handlers, who show up week in and week out, every single time they’re supposed to and ensure that we have compelling matches and characters to write for. Thank you!

Quite importantly as well, I’m truly grateful for the relationships I’ve built with many of you over the years. There’s such a difficult balance to strike between leader and friend. It’s easy to be seen too much of the latter when the former is needed. That’s why you’ll find a lot of leaders ostracize themselves from the community in terms of friendship. I used to do that in the IWF, but never with OSW.

As a result, I feel like I’ve made lifelong friends in OSW and that’s truly something to be grateful for. To be able to do a hobby you love with people you care about is something very special.

Thank you all for your friendship and another great year of OSW. Here’s to ten years in February.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It's been a hell of a year. I can't really express in words how much OSW means to me personally as an outlet. Without it, I don't think I'd handle the twists and turns of life as well.

Thanks Dean for everything you pour into this place. I was rewatching the show last night and thought by pure production alone, you can feel the love that is put into this place. Nobody else out there comes close to the types of things you're putting out on a live show.

And nobody's voice sounds sexier delivering it than Laner.

Then you get segments and songs that you've written that are so personal, like putting out there what it's like to wade through depression. That'd heart man, and it's that which makes this place trundle on. Heart.

You feel that heart, good people want to be around that heart.

Thanks for the love.

As usual, you're out here thanking us but it ought to be us thanking you. It ought to be every person on this roster gushing about you. If you stepped away from OSW, everything would fall apart. You make it what it is and you always have from the very first moment I joined. Your fingerprints are not just on our characters in the advice and help you give us, or the storyline beats you think up along the way, but on the way we write and the way that impacts our lives. You're there for us as people and friends, every step of the way. That's above and beyond the role of fedhead.

I'm grateful for everything everyone here does because this is the best e-fed I've ever had the fortune to be apart of, but I don't for one second believe that it could be anything like what it is if you weren't at the top of it. I mean that.

You should be the one we're gushing over at this time of year. The time, money and effort you put into OSW is unbelievable to most of us and yet year in and year out, you shock and awe us with incredible events like Red Snow, and then I come to the website to find a complete overhaul just one day later. That's just something astonishing, dude.

Thank you, man. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for giving us this place. Thank you for the epic storylines. Thank you for providing us all a safe, welcoming platform to be creative with likeminded adults that care. I appreciate all the people you've thanked, but we need to appreciate you I think.

You know exactly how I feel about you and OSW, but it shouldn't ever go unsaid. This place is something special and always will be. I thought the IWF would be hard to be topped, but it has been dwarfed by comparison to this.

I'm so glad you're not stopping any time soon and the announcement for Volume 4 is very welcome. The idea of being Newton and Neville again makes me smile harder than you'll ever know.

Roll on 2035, I say! Let's get this badass fed 20 years old!

I know that I may be relatively new to this fed but all I can say is that I love the vibe. I even said it on Discord how much I love this fed and I wish I found this place earlier. Here's to 2025 and beyond.

I see the word friendship there, but not acquaintanceship...

...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all and your families and loved ones. Hope you're enjoying the break and let's make 10 years the gold standard year!
