Quote from Lionel Troy on 25 June 2024, 14:11POP OF THE NIGHT:
Fudge me... There were so many significant moments at Ring of Dreams that any one of them could have been the highlight of the night in all honesty. Zeus murdering Herc in cold blood, The Gathering's debut, Vision dying in the arms of an emotional Grimskull, the revelation that Attano's daughter is in fact alive and well, the Cade family reunion, and not to mention the fact we got of a new Sheriff in town.
With all that and a whole lot more being said, I simply cannot overlook the closing segment of the night. It was a captivating mix of action, drama, and revelations that propelled this narrative into a whole new territory. This has been a sinister-ass plot from the get-go - worthy of the higher power Attitude Era story, but truth be told even that comparison falls well short of the mark here. The shocking reveal of Zeus as the captive and key figure in this whole saga, the emotional weight as JTR revealed the true lineage of the Apolkalypsis members, and the devastating betrayal by Zeus yet again... It was all utterly brilliant up to said point.
And then came along Project OSW - something we've heard much about since the inception of Volume III without really knowing the true meaning of its existence. This was the real climax of the night for me, shifting things from a mythical struggle to a grand conspiracy, and leaving everyone questioning the true reality of Arcadia. Not only that, we learnt that Zeus and Narcissa have been colluding all along, with Zeus's manipulation and Narcissa's ambitions culminating in one gigantic fucking bombshell - and what a blast it was.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- With Arcadia's secret now 'out', will Gemini (or EMM to that extent) be able to expose The Baron's lies?
- Jackson Cade has been loyal to Zeus in the past, but will the new commissioner take a stand for the good of the people?
- Michaela is alive after all this time?
- What are these evil plans that The Zookeeper was concocting, and why?
- If Destructo Boy didn't start the fire that killed his mother, then who did?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
With Colt Ramsey out of the picture, one would suspect Troy to be feeling pretty good about the fact the First Church of Zion's secret is safe... For now at least. I genuinely thought this would be the end of the story at Ring of Dreams, but I'm absolutely stoked to see it endure with the introduction of Candy Kane next season.
Brang it on!

Quote from Candy Kane on 3 July 2024, 19:44POP OF THE NIGHT: It's incredibly difficult to pick out a singular segment with so many major show stoppers, but I don't think there's any that have so much weight across the entire board of OSW than Open Sesame. We find out the truth of Arcadia, not that it's singular in it's own world but an experiment that's overrun it's course and leaves Zeus at the top. Two of the Apokalypsis are locked to their death with one betrayer and a fourth that's been in a sense reborn into a new form with Gemini. Like the weight of the changes there alone are worth it enough to change everything.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- With the big twist at the end, what's Gemini going to do after all of this is said and done?
- With Sherrif Cade now a thing, what're the ramifications of him being in control? Will he have to answer to Ares?
- Death comes for Foley in Tombstone, but when and where will he strike next?
- Who the fuck took Johnny Gomez and whacked Nick Diamond?
- Who hired Hatchet to go and take Blaze and Destructo Boy?HAVE YOUR SAY:
Candy Kane: I had a wonderful time with the intro segment, picking up where Colt left off in the hunt against Lionel Troy. It was a really fantastic entrance and I really enjoyed it myself! Can't wait to get swinging with her.
Yellow Python: So here we are here, at the end of the road of Python. With a wonderful story that started pre-Red Snow and pushed all the way to Ring of Dreams, he was a wonderful character to write and read in segments. And here, he's reached the end, a truth yet unknown to us all given by his sworn enemey. His mask is gone, and something new is around the corner for sure. Just had an absolute blast with the character, and what a fun feud he had. Thanks to Damo for being such a compelling rival, and to the match writers for the whole feud as well!

Quote from CJ Thorpe on 3 July 2024, 20:42POP OF THE NIGHT:
I feel like everything that's happened in OSW since the beginning of Volume 3 has led to Open Sesame. It's the midpoint of the volume, and we just blew everything open. This slots everything into place with what we saw with Cronus, with Zeus, and with everything really. There's something beyond Arcadia. There are very few people who know this, and some of the only ones who would have wanted to blow the lid on the great lie are now trapped to die. From a reader perspective, this really gives us a sense of the scale of our story and what the stakes are for Zeus.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Love the new announcers, will we find out what happened to poor Johnny Gomez?
Can Candy Kane blow the lid on Lionel Troy's "ministry?"
Who hired Hatchet to take out Burning Justice?
What's next for the FKA Yellow Python, and what the hell is the Zookeeper up to?
Where is Mikaela Attano? Is she someone we know? Or is she lurking around Arcadia somewhere?
Will Jackson Cade be a better Sheriff than his predecessor?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Gemini - I spoke about the overall story earlier. I enjoyed parts and pieces of the Nergal story. It was a great twist on the character and a great story. But I'm ready for what comes next!
C.J. Thorpe - What a heartbreaker, man. Congrats to Robbie! C.J. being reunited with his dad and brother really sends him into a new place. He's not the upstart anymore. He's established, and I'd like to think established as a top level guy.
Also, loved the Grimskull/Vision ending.

Quote from Harold Attano on 4 July 2024, 05:25POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
Fucking hell, just this entire show. There is so much that I could talk about here. Michaela is still alive (me finding out just how brain-dead I am and have been mispronouncing her name and the embarrassment that came with it). Zeus shot his son rather than have the truth come out. Cade became the Sheriff of Arcadia. CJ turned on what was the former Uprising and Jasper Redgrave.
But it has to be the end of the night that made me bite my tongue to the point of near bleeding. Narcissa and Zeus realigned after all of the chaos caused by the Uprising over the last year. Zeus has been hiding the fact that Arcadia was designed for the soul purpose of OSW. Which I love the idea of by the way, an entire world created for the sole purpose of housing the OSW. The story beats here, the reveals, how quickly I could go from feeling sympathy for Zeus to just asking, “Why?” Looking back to the gallows, Zeus was almost hung from the neck until dead. Hercules saving him to be told the truth about what happened with Zeus, Cronos, Hyperion, and all of it. Only to be capped by the man he saved, fucking hell all of it, just fucking all of it was so fucking good.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- What does the Yellow Python look like without his mask?
- What did Kleen whisper to the Python?
- How will Jackson’s appointment to his new job affect his relationship with CJ and Harold?
- Where do the Uprising members go from here, do they become Zeus and Narcissa’s private army?
- Overall, just where do we go from here?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
Harold: I am really enjoying how everything is coming together with Harold. The discovery Michaela is still alive, I’m excited to see where this goes from here. There is just so much depth with everything else surrounding him too, his reaction to Zeus and Narcissa, how will Cade becoming the head of the Sheriff affect their relationship while potentially shifting the dynamic, and what layer will CJ bring to all of this knowing George Cade is Harold’s mentor. It’s a ton of potential.
Nox: The question I have for Nox is just where does he go with Zeus and Narcissa now aligning? He could be Zeus’s chemical engineer especially with Zeus’s willingness to push the envelope. The possibilities are so fantastic.

Quote from Klaus Way on 4 July 2024, 15:40POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
It has to be the whole door storyline, culminating in the events of Open Sesame. What a huge ending to the show, and what a lot of lore this opens up. The segment did a great job of explaining why Apokalypsis are keys, how they came together, and why they are the way they are. It also wiped half of them out in an instant, turned one full heel and left us with an anomaly - Gemini! What is she now like, and what will she do next? How much was she conscious for and what can she remember?
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- How will the death of Hercules (and the manner in which it happened) come out? You've got to think that will play a big part in the potential eventual downfall of Zeus.
- Who decided promoting Cade was a good idea!? He's been quite an unsteady APD officer, so lets so if he can make the step up.
- Where is Michaela? And why was her death staged?
- Who is Yellow Python behind the mask? I get the feeling that the secrecy on the card and how Dean phrased it on the VC means it might be someone we know, or at the very least a new character somehow related to someone we already know. Looking forward to it! And what did Kleen say to make him denounce the Kingdom in such a big way?
- What is Aurora's deal?
- Who hired Hatchet to take out Burning Justice, and do either of them survive the beatdown?
- Who attacked the commentators, and are the new ones somebody's plant?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
What does "My Way" mean for Klaus and the future of his troupe? Is he on the recruitment trail for real now, following the disappointing missing out on Jackdaw? I think that is precisely the sort of thing Klaus should be doing, to be honest, and I can't wait to see if he is successful and what that might bring for his future.
I really enjoyed how he pinned his own failures on his dwindling acts, and I also like that they had this sort of passive reaction to it, like they'd seen it all before and were resigned to being his punching bags.

OPEN SESAME
This was a hell of a night, where every single segment just kept hitting. So many moments, so many punches that just kept one on the edger of the seat. That in itself is a massive hat tip to Creative, especially Dean who did the lion's share of things.
But everything this season was leading to a single moment. I'm sure (unconfirmed) that as soon as Dean had the idea for Arcadia, he had this moment in his mind. the reveal of what Arcadia ACTUALLY is. there was always something there, even in the way he would describe Arcadia and the types of things that he would veto either creatively or characterwise.
When one has such a vision as that to lead towards, the moment of reveal is always going to be a jaw-dropper and this sure as hell was. But I think the pop moment was not when we had the reveal of the screen flashing PROJECT OSW... It wasn't even the moment where we found out who Apokalypsis actually was. It wasn't even the reveal as JTR being Helios.
It was the moment that the door shut. Helios, Drewitt and Grimskull trapped inside for all eternity.
For me, it was the moment, slightly after that when one remembers that Drewitt is immortal, so he's literally trapped there for all eternity - watching as Grimskull and the man who brought him back to life after the Third Eye wrecked his skull rot away before him.
What an eternity to suffer.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
So many questions... I'll just list 5
- Is there a chance that the door opens again? Will we ever see Arcadia brought to the surface?
- Who is truly responsible for the Blaze fire? Who would hire Hatchet to do the job?
- I love the new commentary team, but who had a grudge against the old crew?
- Michaela is alive? Why didn't the APD know this? How did they think she was dead? They had evidence.\
- What happens to the Python now he has lain down his helmet?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
EMM / VISION
The ending of Vision hit all the notes I was hoping for. He went out in a heartfelt way, and it was understated, not overdone. I think it's amusing in a sense that Escher's demise was overhadowed by Vision. When you had that heartfelt moment in the postmatch segment for Vision, one almost forgets that Escher got done too. That's the perfect ending for Escher as well - obscurity after all he's done.
For EMM, I loved the reveal of the children of the Elders and am really keen to see where that goes for him being the one who sided with Zeus in the end to preserve his own life. I'm interested to see his true motivations for turning on JTR, Drewitt and Grimskull... and what is going to happen between him and Gemini.
Whether he's actually aligned with Zeus and Hera now, or if he was just aiming for preservation.

Quote from Jackson Cade on 5 July 2024, 03:37POP OF THE NIGHT:
Has to be Open Sesame for me. Like, the show as a whole was absolutely insane. But this segment was like 1,600 words of pure information. I think the reveal of Zeus being the key and showing how the keys are connected was absolutely fantastic. Everything made perfect sense, and the turn of Narcissa rejoining Zeus was most definitely unexpected.
However, the biggest pop is the reveal of Project OSW showing that Arcadia is very much IN the real world somewhere. Or the OSW Universe, anyway. It answered a lot of questions, but that also leaves way more questions to be answered. Like, does this connect to the rest of OSW as a whole like Volume 1 and 2? Who set up Project OSW? I have my theories, but I'll hold onto those for now.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Who started Project OSW? Why did they cease contact with Kronos?
- Is Michaela really alive? And if so, where is she?
- Who has Python become?
- Who hired Hatchet?
- Where did my boy Johnny Gomez go? Is Nick gonna be okay?
- What did Kleen tell Python?
I would keep asking questions, but I feel like I'll be here all day if I do.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Jackson Cade: God damn, Cade got made sheriff! I loved seeing this play out and I'm curious as to where this will lead. Also Cade, CJ, and his dad are all on the same page? Alongside Attano? I'm absolutely hyped for this because I've been wanting these guys to team for the longest time and I'm so excited to see this play out.
Drewitt: Poor guy. I loved seeing the end of the door play out, but now he's locked forever behind that door? Unable to die? One of the darker ends for a character for sure. Hope he gets out one day.
Aster Gray: The Gray Man turned on The Uprising! I loved the long term storytelling here of him doing it all just to fuck over Escher. Ending with him locking himself in a cell was honestly a great moment.
Hatchet: Oh this was a huge way to introduce a character! I was wondering if Hatchet would show up somehow and I gotta say I'm not disappointed. He made a hell of an entrance and now I'm nothing if not curious as to who hired this piece of shit and why.

I don't care if I'm a homer for this one, it's Open Sesame, from the ruse to the multiple reveals, this might be one of the best segments I've seen in OSW period. What will Arcadia or should I call it Vault OSW be like now that Narcissa and Zeus are back together? Where does this leave the surviving members of the Uprising? What made Muerte go along with letting the rest of Apokalypsis die and where does Gemini go from here?
BURNING QUESTIONS:
A lot including the ones I wrote above but also...
What's next for CJ Thorpe now that he's rejoined his family?
What's in the diary?
Who attacked Gomez and Diamond?
What is Candy Kane going to find out about Lionel Troy?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Narcissa, Narcissa, tricky as ever, I did not expect the reunion of Zeus and Narcy but man that's an exciting turn that leads to a lot of roads. No wonder she didn't flinch when killing members of the Uprising, they weren't the endgame. I definitely am intrigued about where this goes. I have some predictions but I'm just here for the ride. As for the match, good game Laner, I didn't know how it was going to go, I did not expect to see me as number 2 promo. Defending the title against such a game competitor is an honor and now I feel like a true world champion. Maybe I'll get lucky enough to get a LOL Robbie wins moment.
POP OF THE NIGHT:

I'm giving this to Open Sesame. Holy shit, this answered quite a lot of questions about the current volume of OSW while also asking many more. We found out that the horsemen of Apokalypsis were actually children of the Elders that were murdered by the hands of Zeus and his cronies. Then we found out that Arcadia was really a sort of simulation by someone to house Old School Wrestling that had gone quiet after years of messages being sent. We also discovered The Elders were going to take them all back to the world outside of Arcadia, but Zeus, the power hungry monster that he is, couldn't allow that to happen. Then the questions start being asked. Why did EMM betray the rest of Apokalypsis, trapping most of them behind the other side of the door? Why did Narcissa decide to take up Zeus's offer to call off the Uprising and side with him once more? What happens to Gemini now that she's no longer the goddess of Pestilence and all things rotten? I really want to know. Hopefully these answers will be spoon fed to us across next season, if not sooner.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
I feel like I've already asked a lot, but I'll go ahead and ask a few more.
What will be the fallout of Zeus killing Hercules, if there will be any? I know that all this happened behind closed doors, but there's gotta be some sort of consequence for having his son shot in the head like that.
How will Jackson handle his outing as sheriff? Especially now that Zeus and Narcissa have made amends and look to create true tyranny within Arcadia, I'm sure Jackson's idea of justice will be shafted for what the power couple consider justice.
If Michaela Attano is still alive, where is she? How did George Cade know that she was alive in the first place? Knowing that she's alive changes things up quite a bit and I am interested to see where this ends up going.
Is Nick Diamond alright? Where have they taken Johnny Gomez? Will their fates ever be known to us at all this upcoming season? I've grown to like these two, so I hope that they aren't dead or being tortured by some evil group.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Mr. Kleen - Gotta say, I was not expecting things to end so amicably between him and the Yellow Python. I was completely ready for him to get beaten down by the now former Kingdom member for killing his friends and colleagues, but I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens now that he managed to convince the Python to unaffiliate himself from the Zookeeper's control and go his own way. Just what did Kleen end up telling him that made him defect like that? Will we ever find out? Will the custodian face justice for his actions at all, or will he be able to walk free after killing the Panther, Bear, Falcon, and Shark? Hopefully we'll find out. It just won't be anytime soon, from the looks of things though.
Blaze - We went from Maxwell wanting to tear his son's head off to wondering if the man's still alive after taking a homerun swing from Hatchet. Quite the emotional whiplash tonight for my main dude tonight, that's for sure. The segment after the match has me raising a couple of questions too. Who is this mysterious voice that called for the hit on Sarah and her family? Is Blaze even still alive after that shot? Hell, will James even be alive after this brutal assault from the Juggalo? I'm deathly curious about the fallout from what just happened and I'm hoping that we'll be able to find out if he's surviving this attack next week. Got my fingers crossed that he does.
