Quote from Captain Arcadia on 9 December 2024, 05:15POP OF THE NIGHT: It's Stage IV: Depression. When Dean put in the Discord that there was going to be a segment at the end that was going to be deeply personal, I wasn't sure what to expect. But then it takes center stage, and you can see the emotion from Dean brought into this. How this isn't just description and hyperbole, but the actual feelings of someone who's gone through the actual stage of depression, on how it can sap the will and life out of you and it takes overcoming it to bring out the person you were inside and get control back. As someone who's been there and had to claw his way back out, it took no time to see that brought out, and built into what might be one of the best character work pieces that I've ever gone and read in OSW, period. That kind of a piece has put CJ Thorpe front and center for me, and there is nothing else that could even dream of taking that away. Brilliant stuff.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- What's going to happen with all the souls that die when the Ferryman isn't allowed to ferry the dead?
- Will Ayami's natural hands be enough to slay the demon in the heart of Locke
- What's going to happen if Narcissa loses this trial by combat against Cade?
- Who is this mysterious Zephyr?
- Will the Reverend be able to sway both sides against Malaki, or will he leave the competition dead and buried?
- Can EMM and Gemini be able to reconcile after he's brought the truth back to her? Will Zeus let either of them live with both of them knowing the truth?
HAVE YOUR SAY: It's interesting to see the level of respect that Captain Arcadia had when meeting Mr. Kleen. I think there's more beneath there, and the mysterious answers given to him that were frustrating intrigue me. Is Mr. Sunshine another one of the old guard from the Kingdom back in the day? Was he one of Kleen's villains that helped out when he switched sides? The layers have caught my attention and I absolutely cannot wait to see where it goes from here.

Quote from Felix Foley on 9 December 2024, 11:11POP OF THE NIGHT:
There were a lot of killer segments on the show this week, as you'd expect with the end of the season approaching and Red Snow. I thought the best two were linked, though, and they were Stage Three and specifically Stage Four. I don't frequent the Discord that often so I didn't see these touted but I didn't need to. The visual of Jasper torturing CJ by teasing harm to his mother was brutal, but when it came to the show closer, my jaw dropped. I felt like I was reading a personal statement, and by the end of it, I had more love for the CJ Thorpe character than I've ever had before. What was written was just so honest, so beautiful and so truthful that it really spun emotions up within me that in the end, pour out for the Thorpe character. I'm excited for all Red Snow matches, none more so than my own, as you'd expect. But after these two segments, I'm just as excited for the conclusion of CJ Thorpe vs. Jasper Redgrave as I am Tombstone vs. Felix Foley. When a writer can make you feel like this, through a screen, through the written word, when you're not expecting to feel a thing, it's a gift.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- How can CJ Thorpe overcome that monster?
- Will we learn more about Zephyr and how his bones came to be at the circus?
- Is Harold's Daughter brainwashed by Klaus?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
The end is nigh. This story has been such a long time in the making, and it finally ends at Red Snow. I love an underdog story and Felix Foley has gotten that Neville Sheldon treatment with this angle and I couldn't critique any part of it. This week, we've set the stage for what will be their final showdown and even Igor Mortis is fed up of Tombstone taking his time in putting Foley out of his misery. The undefeated Monster versus the man he's beaten from pillar to post for six months plus is has been an epic of storytelling proportions and I just want to thank creative for masterminding this entire story. I'm blessed to be in OSW and have such amazing people writing for my character that every single week puts a smile on my face. Thank you all!

Quote from Gravedigger on 9 December 2024, 15:32POP OF THE NIGHT: Geez. I don't know how to even talk about what I read in the final segment of the show. I haven't ever suffered with depression. I've been very fortunate in that I've not had any mental health issues during my life-time thus far, so reading this was like a window into something I couldn't entirely understand but somehow felt as if I now did. I'm not sure who wrote that or where it came from, but it felt very real. Real is the best way I can describe that. There's always a lot of great storylines on every show and this week wasn't any different, but this is the Red Snow Main Event we're talking about and after reading that segment, you get why. It stands out and sets itself apart and now so does the main event of Red Snow in a way.
BURNING QUESTIONS: It's not a question as much as it is a desire. I really desperately want to know more about Zephyr and the backstory behind that character, his bones, where they ended up and why. I thought the Klaus segment this week really varied his performance as a character in that he was shown to be vastly different and much more fragile than we've ever seen him. His arrogance and hubris faded away. There was a deep vulnerability there. Is that because of grief, or guilt, I wonder?
HAVE YOUR SAY: Aurora keeps running, but running into trouble. I'm eager to see how this story ends because I don't think Gravedigger is going to accept anything but her hand in marriage. One way or another, I think Aurora marries or dies. I don't see how she can get away from him, whether at Red Snow or beyond. Even if you were to think that she can fend him off at Red Snow, his obsession is clearly such that it'll continue somewhere down the line. I've enjoyed this storyline. I won't tell you that the original thought of Gravedigger being like this didn't disturb me a little... it did. But it fit so well with the abuse he's suffered living on the streets that it's perfect.

Quote from Anton Savor on 9 December 2024, 21:53POP OF THE NIGHT:
there were alot of great moments throughout this show, from the entire trial scene with narcissa and jackson, the revelation of whoever zephyr is with klaus, and then of course the closing segment. i wanna just say that every story going on currently has been great and unique and its clear that there is a lot of thought, preparation and creativity that goes into each and every one of them. you guys are so important and you all do great work.
this week the closing segment definitely stood out to me the most for how genuine it was. i think that it blurred the lines between real life and osw in a very good way. only the most positive way. and how couldn’t it because we are real people with thoughts and emotions but like it was said above, it just felt very real. and even if you haven’t dealt with something like this, it was so vivid and imaginative in its description, that segment, that it kinda gave you an inside look into what its like and into that mindset. it also did a great job at building cj thorpe back up after all hes been through with jasper here. amazing shit.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
whats with this zephyr character?
will harold get his daughter back as he knew her?
has cj thorpe completely overcome this spell jasper has had over him?
how does aurora plan to end this charade with gravedigger? will it be as easy as defeating him at red snow?
will felix be able to dig deep and put down tombstone? and if he doesn’t, what might happen afterwards?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
ive enjoyed this short ride that antons been on with calypso. not sure if it fully ends at red snow or not, but i do think that creative has done a great job with the time they were given to tell a story no matter how quick, and made it make sense essentially. everyone’s the same way so im not saying anything world breaking but when im reading and following a storyline i love to see the links and draw parallels, and just to simply understand whats going on fully, and also just for it to make sense to me. so like i said this was short and im not sure if this the end of this feud but i think its done wonders for both characters, as their personalities and essence have both been allowed to shine throughout. cant wait to see what awaits at red snow.

Quote from El Mariachi Muerte on 10 December 2024, 19:16POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
STAGE 4: DEPRESSION
This was such a powerful segment, an entire moment within itself, that was written from such a place of personal experience and vulnerability. It's rare in this business that segments get this deep on a personal level, so when they do, it's something special - this definitely was.
From those of us that have never had to face the black dog, as they say, thankyou Dean for putting to words such an eloquent way of describing what it is like to go through something like this.
You get to the end of the segment and we have our pop. In reality, the visuals are something simple. CJ Thorpe simply stands up. But behind that, there is something so much more, so much deeper and so much more human.
Hell of a freaking segment.
Honourable Mention: The court. I love a good court drama, and this one was well handled. The writing really brought forth the drama well, and you could feel the weight of it all. Great job.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- Can Felix Foley prove that Tombstone is not invincible? Can he die? What does Felix need to do to make that happen? And will Tombstone end his life before he can get the chance to prove that?
- Will Mighty Mighty be another soul claimed by the Circus?
- Did Klaus Way kill Zephyr and bury him under the ring of his own Circus just to steal the limelight and power from him?
- What is left of the Owls and Disciples? What is Graves holding?
- Will Attano walk away? He said that he would. He told Michaela that if he got the chance to talk to her, and realised that she didn't want him, he'd walk away. She's not a child, she made a choice about who she wanted around her. At what point is he going after her for his own benefit and not hers any more?
- What did they do to Hatchet?
- Not a question, but I love the fact that court battles in Arcadia can by law be settled by combat. That just tells you everything you need to know about Arcadia itself haha.
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
EMM
Man, that hits you right in the feels. Beautiful writing. Everything about what has happened this season just comes full circle in a single segment. I have a funny feeling that this particular segment may have at least been planned out from the beginning - this was always the point we wanted to reach with EMM and Gemini - that means that every step we've taken to get here just hits so much harder. Amazing segment, brilliant writing. A hat tip to the writer.
SUNSHINE
Ohohohoho, we're getting somewhere reeeealllly interesting with this. That's all I'm saying for now.

Quote from Eclipse on 10 December 2024, 19:57POP OF THE NIGHT:
Stage IV, by a country mile. It resonated with me hard, and you could tell it was written from a place of experience and emotion. It also completely fits the story, because who wouldn't be depressed and/or grieving dealing with the shit CJ is? I had to take a moment after reading it and collect myself, that's how real it all felt. You put it all into words better than I ever could, man.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- If there is no more ferrying until Red Snow... What will happen in the meantime? Is someone going to somehow cheat death?
- What the shitting hell is in that drink? Also, does Calypso know Bill Cosby?
- How on Earth is Mighty Mighty gonna get out of his predicament? Poor fella deserves better than being forced into the circus.
- So, how was Zephyr murdered, and is it the obvious culprit or someone else in the circus?
- What was Ezekiel holding? Was it some kind of symbol or relic of Midnight's? Is it something that can summon Satan like he and the Owls want?
- Will The Gathering fight back against Hatchet and try to subdue him, or betray Burning Justice in hopes of appeasing The Corporation?
- Just how dangerous IS Mr. Sunshine? Also, what is Kleen's beef with him?
- What fate awaits Cade if he loses to Narcissa?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Well, Aurora just goes from one predicament to the next, doesn't she? With Calypso and Malakai in the wings, I doubt that drink was a simple roofie. What lasting effects will it have? Will there even be a match at Red Snow? I don't know, but I'm sure as shit engrossed. Can't wait for the big show.

Quote from Reverend Ezekiel Graves on 11 December 2024, 18:43POP OF THE NIGHT: Bachelorette Party
I really enjoyed how strong this segment made Aurora look. Between the defiant “Fuck you,” Aurora spitting back, and her dislocating her wrist, it shows just how resilient and determined her character is. The writing was incredibly well done, and I can’t wait to see how this all concludes at Red Snow.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
What was Graves holding?
What happened to Zephyr?
Will Aurora finally put an end to Gravedigger once and for all?
(Random) But Could Felix become the next Ferryman?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
I’ve rewritten this “have your say” section multiple times because it’s hard to find the right words to describe how I feel after this week’s Vendetta. Speechless is the best way to put it, it was absolutely amazing.
The segment between the Owls and Disciples was so cinematic, I couldn’t stop talking about it. Of course, my wife called me a nerd, but wow it was incredible. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine a shootout in OSW.
Congrats to Tombstone on the win! It was a huge honour to have my character chokeslammed and buried alive by such an OSW legend. I hope I gave you a fight, bro. I really enjoyed your promo and hope I held my own against you.
I’ve been here since mid-August and have had the privilege of facing so many talented writers. It’s amazing that my character has become so established here, giving me the opportunity to be part of such high-calibre matches. I never imagined being this far along in OSW, and I’m truly honoured to write alongside such incredible talent.
As Red Snow approaches, I’m getting more and more hyped. The anticipation is real, and I can’t wait!
Lastly, I feel like a scumbag for not mentioning this sooner, but the graphics are phenomenal. The detail, like the Exit signs seen through the cage on the main page, is insane. The level of effort and attention here is unmatched.

Quote from Jasper Redgrave on 12 December 2024, 04:57POP OF THE NIGHT: Stage Four: Depression
Fucking beautiful. As someone who tends to struggle with depression himself, this closing segment this week hit home pretty close. I thought Dean did a wonderful job here though, the writing was heavy but beautifully written. I cannot lie, after reading the segment I had real tears in my eyes. Very well done, Dean.BURNING QUESTIONS:
- What was Graves holding?
- If Michaela is truly happy, will Harold truly let her be?
- No ferrying of souls until Red Snow, what's that mean for now? What will happen to the unferried souls?
- Will we learn more about Zephyr and what happened to him?
- Is CJ Thorpe ready to fight now?
- Can Felix somehow do the unthinkable and defeat the monster that is Tombstone?HAVE YOUR SAY:
It's been a brutal fucking ride to get here, but here we are finally at Red Snow looking down the barrel of CJ Thorpe vs Jasper Redgrave. It's been a long time coming, and this past month has been an absolute roller coaster of emotion. Jasper's never looked more sadistic. I'm not sure what happens at Red Snow, but I'm more than ready for it.

Quote from The Burned Man on 12 December 2024, 08:14POP OF THE NIGHT:
Gotta be Stage Four: Depression. Holy shit, what a depressing segment. Appropriate, given the title. I've felt that kind of pain only once before, and god damn, did it feel exactly like how it was described in that segment. While I'm still in the process of rising up and beginning anew, I love how such a heavy topic was handled in this segment. In the context of OSW, I'm excited to see CJ kick Jasper's ass and rescue his mother from the artist's bloody clutches. In terms of the segment overall, I absolutely loved how someone was able to put what I was feeling while in a dark place into words. Awesome seg.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
What happens to the souls that were supposed to be ferried, but can't due to Tombstone's plans with Felix? Do they possess him again like they did last October? Am I looking too much into it and Igor will handle it? The door has opened for that possibility, and I'd like to know what will happen now that there's a chance for another Escape the Mortuary.
Will Aurora be forced to marry Gravedigger? Will she be able to escape and be free of his clutches for good at Red Snow? Or will she have to spend the rest of her days with him as an unwilling bride?
Will Jackson Cade be able to come out of his trial by combat a free man? Will he lose his position in the APD and be jailed for his supposed crimes? George might have a plan up his sleeve, but whatever that plan is needs to be executed flawlessly or the whole thing's in shambles.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
TBM - Well, something unforeseen happened to Burning Justice's plan of taking down the Corporation. Honestly kind of forgot about Hatchet's predicament before this segment reminded me he was still in captivity. I'm not looking forward to seeing them fight both Doom and Nox with a deranged, possibly superpowered Juggalo on their side. Hopefully the rest of the Gathering can even the odds a bit while the father and son team attempt to go after the scientists. Fingers crossed that they get their revenge, but I doubt they will.
Calypso - Well, it seems like despite Calypso's warnings, Anton still persists and steals shit from her. Now she feels the need to get more involved by attacking his staff and leaving an ominous warning for the chef. I know for a fact that Savor won't heed that either. However, it's whether or not that my girl will be able to follow through with her threats that matters. She seems like the type that would do what they promised to, but will she be able to and take his most prized possession? That remains to be seen, but I hope she does.
