TOP THREE MOMENTS:

- Stranger Days I: I'm a sucker for nostalgia feel, and this one did it for me. A classic way to open the show, three hot heads at each others neck. Tensions high. Things could explode at any moment and then Sterling steps in to book the three of them on a team for the main event. Classic. Simple. Still works in a big way.
- Night Terrors III: It's been one of my burning questions, and it will remain this week. What does The Night mean by Vengeance? I loved this segment, I loved the guards rushing in to seize The Night only for him to try turning them away and then the numbers becoming too much to handle.
- Stranger Days II: I've really enjoyed the interactions between Destructo and Felix. As always, Felix is that beacon of light in the dark, trying to pull Destructo back from the depths of a depressive hell. And of course, Destructo being reluctant. What I love here is Felix's willingness to make sure Destructo doesn't have to defend those titles alone.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

- What does The Night mean by vengeance?
- Can Destructo and Felix co-exist?
- What does Cade gain from beating Gravedigger?
- Will Nero start revealing the secrets he knows?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Modern Day Humpty Dumpty: Holy shit, Mel is still on a tear. Someone calm him down. Beautiful roleplay this week.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

The closing segment this week was absolute chaos. A closing worthy of a go home show heading into the PPV.. this one also gave me that nice nostalgia rub I said I enjoyed so much. It will be interesting to see what happens between the World title competitors come Thunderstrike.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

3. Stranger Days I: A little aside, but this...

The lights drop in Olympus, and we hear the rattling of chains and on then...

“I will stay and fight As long as I'm alive”

-Silence-

“And Kill ‘Till I Die”

-Beat-

Hell, what an entrance. Why would Bryno want to change that, bonkers?!

Anyway, the moment when the Commiss comes out, you know is always leading to something epic. The big match, the "don't kill each other now, wait for the PPV" message. That's always a pretty big pop because absence makes the heart grow fonder. You dangle the carrot of three guys tearing each other to pieces, then you make us wait. Great stuff, great moment.

2. Exposure: That moment when all three realise that they've all been played, that the whole point of this was to get them to point fingers at each other and they all fell hook line and sinker for it. Nero works on a whole nother level of mindgame, and we're seeing that here. The way that he can control three Titans without even being there in person, I can't wait to see if they comply with his wishes, and if not, whether the secrets will be revealed.

1. Stranger Days II: I really like the fallout of Red Snow as it pertains to Destrcuto and Foley. It's given both characters some juicy character development, and we have this moment here between the pair that is really heartfelt.

“These are stranger days, aren’t they? This time last year, Doom, your father, yourself and I would be relishing a Main Event like tonight,” Foley reminisces with a smile that isn’t returned. “I liked your pop, you know. He was a much better father than mine.”

Low bar…” Destructo concurs cruelly.

There's so much to unpack just within these lines. Characterwise, and historywise.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • What is the vengeance that Night seeks, and why?
  • Will Red, Graves and Mighty Mighty play ball and tow Nero's line?
  • What will Cade be willing to go through to make Gravedigger feel every ounce of pain that he wants him to feel?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Mel's Weekly Honourable Mention - Modern Day Humpty Dumpty: Mel's ability to take a heartfelt scene, draw out all of the emotion in it, then also twist everything in that scene into a theme that makes Foley seem ready to go to war is legendary. He's a clear top promo candidate. But I want to use this space more for a promo each week that I enjoyed reading, one that I loved the concept of or that got me seeing the character in a creative way, rather than necessarily one that I thought was the top scoring promo in my books. So with that, I'll also give some love to...

Threads of Judgement by Graves: There's so much in the voice of Gwaves that I love, he's written in such a way that the character comes across beautifully. I love the theme of pulling on the threads, quite literally. But I just love this paragraph here as a way of Graves seeing Narcissa

"You want the people of Arcadia to shout your name. To see you as the savior who tore down their oppressors. But the truth, Narcissa, is that your name will not be shouted. It will be whispered, like a curse, like a warning. Because when the fabric burns, when the ash settles, they will see you for what you truly are: a tailor of falsehoods. A seamstress of sin."

HAVE YOUR SAY:

EMM -

The question most definitely needs to be asked. What reasoning does EMM have for pretty much every decision he's made since that door was opened. There's something big that he's hiding, even now. Something that has led him down some pretty shady paths. Is he protecting Gemini, Anthestria and Arcadia from something deeper? If so, what??! Is it more simple than that and he's never been honest with his alliances, is he more loyal to Zeus than he wants to let on? I'm missing something big. And the fact that Gemini, who has worked through so much of the trust issues with him, still asks that question, he's going to have to answer it one way or another.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. stranger days iii was my favorite segment of the week for sure. i mean it was the culmination of the first two stranger days, with felix extending his hand to destructo once again, despite him being rejected once. and for it to end this week with felix delivering a chair shot to destructo for his same steadfast mindset that he didnt need felix’s help, i loved it all. very interested to see how they’ll coexist moving forward, or if not, what will be the repercussions of that chair shot and the downfall of this constant back and forth between those two.
  2. open eyes ii was a cool segment as well. i like this very forward and aggressive version of cade that does show here and there. this week, with him hitting gravedigger with the butt of his shotty, and then the cutting words delivered to em afterwards. enjoyed that one for sure.
  3. exposure was my third favorite of the show. i was interested from the jump in nero and what his motivations were for his stalking and observing of certain people. we know now that he issued out those letters and apparently, those that received it are into some shady shit? very interested to see what comes of that.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

what are neros letters about?

how could felix and destructo get along?

what did narcissa do to the night?

whats emm hiding from gemini about his past actions?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

salt was a good read for sure. i enjoy the promos that were created with what seems a free spirited type of attitude for lack of a better term. hatchet is unfiltered and very unique so hes able to flow, piece his ideas together in a way only he can and he makes it happen.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

i cant lie man, it was so funny to see anton stuff an amuse bouche in captains mouth causing him to seize up, only cause i was originally working on an amuse bouche promo for that match. crazy, but cool segment tho. i do think it was very interesting that he was resorting to just burning that shit on up. its kinda as if hes saying savor has no hope and neither does this restaurant, fuck em all. interesting to see for sure, but no complaints tho. been enjoying the storytelling ride we’ve been on with this and im sure theres some more heat awaiting at thunderstrike.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

1. That opening between the Redgrave, Way, and Attano was brilliant. It made Klaus Way show how that title changes people and alliances. It made Attano show his true feelings about all this. Lastly, it was a brilliant spark of yes anding by Redgrave, he didn't deny what he was doing. He added to it, he denied the cowardice angle. I loved how it highlighted these three.

2. Stranger Days 2, Destructo and Foley, two men who both been burned by Doom coming together despite past issues? Sign me up. I love the wisdom that Foley is trying to give to Destructo, hopefully he listens. I'm rooting for this bizarro team to retain the titles. I want to keep seeing this dynamic.

3. The why segments, what Meurte did changed the course of a lot of situations for people not just those in his faction but of course they're the ones wanting answers the most. I'm really curious myself and can't wait for the reveal.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

Why did Muerte do it?

What does The Night want vengeance for?

Is Klaus Way going to part of the preservationists or just enjoy his title shot?

Will a bizarro team win the titles and what stories can happen?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Parasite, that was brilliant, I could see it all play out in my head and it was a beautiful parallel of a parasite and a bad chef relying on the crew. I kept reading along and going this is a fucking killer. I wanted to say yes chef at the end.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Well, at least there's semblance of a reason The Night is going after Narcissa now, obviously it's still vague for a reveal and I'm definitely curious what Narcissa did in her long line of misdeeds. I appreciate the guards protecting her when someone is after her. I do like that she got the shot and she got the upper hand despite him taking care of the guards. It's showing Narcissa as the intelligent woman she is but making me wonder more about the Night, I'm enjoying this so far.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Stranger Days III – The shmoz between Harold, Jasper, and Klaus where they all left the ring leaving us wanting more for Thunderstrike.  Follow that up with Foley clear house and even dimming the lights of Destructo Boy.  I had some serious flashbacks to when The Rock levied Farooq with a shrug.  Did its part to set up Thunderstrike.
  2. Open Eyes I – I loved the interaction between Jackson and Igor.  It makes me wonder what’ll happen when Igor sees Ezra back and how will Gravedigger be able to protect the smaller man?   Also, when you take Open Eyes II into account, I also wonder why Igor is being so... forgiving of Gravedigger’s pursuit of Jackson when he would’ve been up Ezra’s rear end about these pursuits.
  3. Simmer – Just wow, Cap with a Molotov about to burn the place down.  Anton paralyzed the hero. But I think the real big thing here is that Mr. Sunshine has his “Sunshine Club” as spies for him.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

(What questions has the show left you with?)

How large is Mr. Sunshine’s “Sunshine Club”?  Does he have eyes on every level of Arcadia?

Why isn’t Igor calling Gravedigger’s pursuit of Jackson pointless and telling him to concentrate on his new job?  May haps there be a double standard?

Can Felix and DB co-exist?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

(Which promo was your favourite of the week?)

Salt – I loved the spin on and an entire promo based on Too Many Cooks Spoil the Soup.  Plus, Hatchet’s attitude it on full display here.  I can see why it made the top 3 this week.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

(How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)

Harold: I love how Harold’s being treated as the one calling out the honor of the OSW Championship and its past Champions.  I also like how he focused his words on Jasper this week as I could see him focusing on Klaus with their past but to have him teardown Jasper was a great wrinkle.

Nox: Laying out DB with the aid of Doom and then being leveled by Foley only to watch as Foley lays out his own partner.  Being smart enough to know when discretion is the better part of valor.  But his violence was on full display this week but his personality was a bit hidden.  I can’t wait to see how this Destructo Boy and Nox program plays out as it weaves intertwined with Doom vs. Foley with the Foley calling back to the Pool Boys.  This whole story is full of places for great callbacks and has the potential for some deep cuts.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Stranger Days III. Nothing against you Zac, but I popped like FUCK when Foley blasted him with the chair. Was great to see him stand up for himself, even against someone who isn't a blatant uber-villain. Also opens up a lot of intrigue as to what will happen going forward, and you know I like my intrigue!
  2. Why II. Gemini has been punished for the actions of Muerte, and she 100% deserves an explanation. I'm wondering if there's any way EMM will tell her the truth without his hand being forced by violence. I also wonder if Grim and Drewitt will realise she's an innocent party in this... And if they'll even care.
  3. Open Eyes II. I am glad to see someone taking the fight to Gravedigger - It means Gravy is remaining his own character rather than just being a replacement Tombstone. And hoo boy, Cade has every reason to wanna whup his ass after the stunt he pulled with CJ on the ferry! That said I'm particularly interested in how Gravy's 'power level' might change as he becomes acclimated to his role as ferr- Uh, Valkyrie.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Is Grimskull gonna push back further against Drewitt's brutality?
  • What is Cade's plan against Gravy Baby?
  • What is Sunshine's secret, and why does he continue to meddle in Savor vs Arcadia rather than butting out? Also, why did he break my heart :'(
  • For that matter, why is Arcadia going to such extremes? Is he losing his shit?
  • What is Nero's agenda and what are his demands on his opponents? Is it just to lay down in the match, or does he have something else longer term in mind?
  • What is The Night's motivation? Is he Paragon? Did he know Paragon?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

This is probably gonna raise a few suspicious eyebrows, but gotta give it to my opponent Sunshine/Hayden here. I know, I know, it makes it seem like I only read my opponent this week, but hear me out. Since I've come back, I've faced some pretty stiff competition, including multiple people putting out RP of the week. Yet somehow, when I read Yoga Pants, I had a feeling of "well, I'm fucked" that I haven't had since my return. Maybe my tastes are odd, I dunno, but I could feel myself shrinking in front of my screen as he tore Eclipse down.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Ayame was the focus this week, as she should be given how Eclipse was last week. Good to see Eclipse didn't cower, but I'm more excited to see how Ayame develops in her new 'form'! I feel like this story is gonna be big for her in general, what with the transformation and all.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

1. Stranger Days I takes the top spot. As stated by someone else previously, I loved the old school vibe of this seg. Klaus explaining himself and Jasper and Harold getting all pissy and interrupting him in the middle of it. Not to mention the return of Scott Sterling! Missed that bastard. Fun seg that set the tone for the rest of the night.

2. Speaking of that, Stranger Days II goes here. I liked seeing Felix try to reason with the infuriated Destructo and tell him that they're working together whether he wants to or not made for a banger of a seg. I have to wonder what the end result will be at Thunderstrike.

3. Open Eyes II takes the third position. Seeing Cade attack the Valkyrie and getting him to realize that he's done playing games was an awesome moment that I loved. Makes me all the more eager to see the match come to fruition.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

Can Destructo work together with Felix Foley? Even after getting domed by the Puppeteer at the end of the show? They have a tag match coming up against the men that killed his father, but with how standoffish he's been for the duration of this month, will he even want Foley's help?

What exactly does Cade have planned for Gravedigger when he wants to splatter his brains all over the floor only to pick himself up afterwards? Something violent, I'm sure. But just how violent will it get?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm giving this to Scars by Klaus Way. I really liked how the Ringmaster brought up each of the Unnatural's scars and how they related to his opponents on that show. Thought it was rather clever how he mentioned how Ajax hid his scars through a mask of strength before bringing up Doom and how he hid his scars with a literal mask. It was a fun read and I hope Matt can continue looking strong heading into the PPV.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

I'll admit, it's been kind of slow going for Night and Narcissa. I get that Sting's feuds as Crow Sting were more or less the same way, but I kind of wanted him to express his character a bit more than wanting Vengeance. I'm sure we'll get more insight into that at Thunderstrike though. Hopefully that'll show more about what kind of motives Night has and what he's seeking vengeance for.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Open Eyes I and II. As someone said, definetly reminiscent of attitude era stuff here and especially II with Jackson having none of Gravediggers shit and coming at the now immortal Shovel to deal out some much needed cathartic pain. Brilliant stuff and very much looking forward to these two beating the shit out of eachother.
  2. Stranger Days I-III, although seems slightly homerish but it was a brilliant trio of segments that really set up Thunderstrike in a brilliant way. Plus that ending brawl was beautiful...even if Destructo did get his dome nearly caved in deservedly so.
  3. Exposure. Nero brings up memories of past figures behind the secrets in the best way and revealing himself to all three by blackmailing them into compling was a great proper intro for Nero into this feud.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • What does Nero want vengeance for?
  • Will the trio be able to figure out how this mysterious figure is getting this blackmail fodder before it's too late?
  • Will Arcadia and Anton destroy eachother while Sunshine just watches and smiles?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Gotta be Salt. As a mammoth Jake Jeckel fan, Daws channels classic Jake in the absolute best way. Sparks off the page and I can hear every word coming out like the brilliant dickhead sadistic juggalo that he is and it was all tied together beautifully as well.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Well you can't say that Felix didn't try. James at least heard him out here but the rage within the young man is still burning far too white hot to ever trust another person at this point. The steel chair at the end from Felix finally giving up and giving Destructo a taste of his own medicine was perfect and definetly needed and intrigued to see if this will lead to a kinda successful tag pairing here between the two who have a lot more in common then Destructo wants to accept or if his stubborn rage is just going to lead to giving up more to the Corporation.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Exposure caught my eye this week, seeing just how smart and tactical Nero is in manipulating people into where he wants them to be. The three never even thought to consider that it could've been someone else that invited them in, and the reveal that there's plenty more dark things about Ezekiel to be shown than we may know is pretty damn interesting.
  2. Why I-II is showing a pretty damn interesting flip of a coin. You've got on both sides someone who's mad, seeking the truth in their own ways to find out why and what happened, and then the secretive sides of El Mariachi and the wrath of Drewitt rearing up. I'm worried at this point that Gemini is going to die out there on the mat when she squares up at this point.
  3. Night Terrors III was a surprise but a welcome one at that. Seeing The Night directly looking for vengeance, and then being surrounded and attacked by Narcissa's guards revealed a little and opened the field for so many more questions. The fluidity of his dodging, the eerieness of "No matter the outcome, you'll know why I've come," all of this is really setting up for what's gonna be a pretty interesting match.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Will Marichi Muerte give the truth this week to his former allies?
  • Can Destructo and Felix learn to work together during all of this to secure a victory against their bitter enemies?
  • Can Eclipse survive the wolf's den?
  • Will Valkyrie prove themselves against Cade, or will the return of the OG Ferryman mix them all up?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Storytime by Jackson Cade takes the cake for me this week. There's something short, sweet, and punchy about it. The hero and the goliath being solidly compared to the failures of Destructo and the monster that Cade settled into focus and attention for me assuredly. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the good fairy tale ones, but I had a blast with it!

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Ah, the sweet desperation of a molotov cocktail. Arcadia did his best to bring down the restaurant, but was met by one who was prepared to bring him down with ease. Seeing the Sunshine Club hovering, watching really did set them up that Sunshine's the one pulling these strings together. I do like seeing Arcadia's threads being frayed here, becoming more and more wild with each segment. Excellent work!

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. The segment with how Nero brings the three men. Nero uses his legions to get some dirt on the three men, which is diabolical but yet fansinating.
  2. Night Terrors - Night looking for vengeance, but to me at the moment, it leads to more questions.
  3. The opening segment is just *chefs kiss*. I believe this is how IRL wrestler should act (not most of the time) on how the belt changes them, be it good or bad and this segment shows well on how each wrestlers truly feels

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • What does Nero want with the other three men?
  • How long does the alliance of Klause and the rest last? Enough for either of them to win the title?
  • Arcadia and Anton match is something that I gotta see (read), and what role Sunshine will play here?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Man too many to choose but I have to choose Klause Rp out of the rest

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Excellent show as always
