“I know a song that gets on everybody’s nerves, everybody’s nerves, everybody’s nerves.
I know a song that gets on everybody’s nerves, and this is how it goes.”
Even on the darkest day, sometimes a little song gets stuck in your head, my Sunbeams.
A little earworm that weasels it’s way into your brain. It eats away at you, knowing that the more you try to ignore it… the more powerful that little ditty becomes. When that little song burrows its way into your brain, it’s not to please you… it’s usually not even a tune you like. No, it serves one purpose.
To drive you crazy.
Every thought seems to be coloured by that repetitive little earworm. The music that just won’t stop playing on repeat.
People tend to do anything they can to rid themselves of those annoying little tunes. They try poisoning themselves with other songs, or hiding away from the influences of others. Some may even resort to trying to beat the song right out of their heads.
You’ve each been infested by such a little brainworm – Narcissa, Caido and Nox. No matter where you turn to, that annoying little song keeps playing and you just cannot seem to get away from it.
Narcissa, your song warns of alliances forged and lost. Of the consequences of your choices one day coming back to bite you in the be-hind.
Nox, your song flows through Arcadia like smoke infiltrating every corner of Arcadia. But the more it sticks in your head, the more you breathe it in. The more you breathe in your own paranoia, the less control you have.
But Caido, your song is special. For yours is a song of your own composition. The song of who you once were, playing a loop inside your head. Only, it’s never the entire song that gets stuck on repeat, just a single line.
That line that you can’t shake from your head, it’s the very thing you fear the most. The memory of becoming forgotten… irrelevant.
These pesky little earworms, look at what they’ve driven you to!
Nox attempted to kill both Zeus and Doom in his thirst for power. Narcissa has spent her time cleaning up the Sunshine Club, trying to wipe the smile away.
And you, Caido, resorting to taking back powers you once gifted to others. How sad that you’ve become the raincloud over the very land you created!
You are the song that gets on everybody’s nerves.
Every song tells a story. I’ve had a song stuck in my head for the longest time now… a little song about losing your smile.
About dark days and rainclouds.
But every dark cloud hides the sun behind it. It just needs its chance to smile again.
“I know a song that gets on everybody’s nerves… and this is how it goes.”
It starts now, with the sun bursting forth gloriously from behind your rainclouds that hold it back.
And when it shines, it is a song that never ends.
It just goes on and on, my friend.
