Leader

Klaus WayKlaus Way, Promo

There are many ways to lead.

You can be the kind of leader who rules with an iron fist, never taking no for an answer, like our very own Zeus, bless his bedridden soul, who does what he feels is right, even if it rankles some people he leads. The benefit to this is absolute power. The negative to this is the risk of dissent, of revolution. Zeus, though he knows all the ins and outs of Arcadia, faces constant struggles for the power he wields, which weaken him over time.

You can be the kind of leader who thrives on vengeance, protecting those you love despite the consequences, like our World Champion, Jackson Cade, who does what he feels is right, to make those who cares for proud of him. The benefit to this is a loyal following. The negative to this is showing your hand and therefore your weakness. Cade, though he protects his family and his officers with every fibre of his being, often leaves them in a worse position through his leadership. Just look at the deaths that follow him around. His enemies know that attacking those he loves is the way to get to him.

You can be the kind of leader who promotes fairness and merit, like our heroes Captain Arcadia and Destructo, who did what they felt to be right, based on some kind of morality scale. The benefit to this is being lifted into some kind of higher state of being. The negative is that eventually you have to do something that can’t please everyone. You can see that this eternal heroism actually led to them becoming disillusioned, a sense of unfairness in the response to their actions.

You can be the kind of leader who sits back and lets those around them do the gruntwork, like Hatchet and his band of Juggalos, or the Zookeeper and his various Kingdoms. The benefit to this is keeping yourself safe. The negative is that eventually you run out of bodies to sacrifice. Eventually you have to step out of the shadows and into the light, and show yourself for what you are.

All of these lead in a single way.

Winning Lambs is a leadership test, but the kind of leader to claim the ultimate accolade has to be someone who does what is needed, not what is right.

In the big top, I rule with an iron fist – the freaks know their place, and they do what I ask even if it rankles them. In the big top, I thrive on vengeance – my freaks are my family and coming for them is coming for me. In the big top, I believe in fairness and merit – Solus and Ajax are where they are now because of years of hard work and loyalty. In the big top I am content with letting those around me put in the hard work while I reap the benefits.

In the ring I do that too. The other nineteen in Lambs can put in as much effort as they want, but only I will reap the rewards.

Welcome to the Freak Show, let me show you The Way!
