The nymph sisters

In Promo by Wolf Fang Ayame

When you spend so long among the spirits you hear so many stories, so many stories of heroes. Some are more noble than others shall we say. But the common one that is known among most tongues is the Odyssey. One which would mean a lot to many heroes as it is what occurs when you incur the wrath of the Gods. And disrupt the Natural Order for your own selfish gains. And for one Arcadia and Calypso it is an example of the cleansing that I must hand down.

Captain Arcadia, you are named after this land much like that book is named after the hero. And he had to go through so many unnecessary trials and tribulations for the mere fact that he was a boorish entity. There was heroic bones in his body, maybe even some noble ones. However, it all kept circling back to the same thing. Whenever a warning approached, it was ignored for no other reason due to his own pride.

One trial of note was Odysseus would go on to meet a nymph named Circe who, after a feast, poisoned them to forget their homes, and families. And with a final flick of her wand turned his men into swine. Now you may not be a literal pig at this moment Arcadia. But Locke cost me my hunt. You might as well be speaking in that language. Helpless and waiting for the end to come with mercy.

Circe’s sister, according to the stories, was named Calypso. Someone who hid the hero of the story away for years and years. Wishing for him to stay, making promises of immortality. Promises of what shall not be. And it was up to the gods to intervene and release him. To return him to the cycle of the Natural Order. Like your name sake you are that which should not be, adding life and hiding until it is your turn to strike when necessary. Your paint cannot hide the cowardice you portray. And the spirit I hold the spirits around me. Will drag you into the shadows and strip you down to your scared center.

What ever happened to that hero once he passed through all those trials? He had learned that the world moved on without him and had to commit atrocities to get back upon his throne. Morals are forever compromised with these sycophantic heroes. For they never do it for a just cause. They do it to feed their own egos. And when the world dictates that the time has come for them to move aside. They hold on for dear life to whatever they can do to remain a hero in the eyes of the populace.

In the end, while I aimed to unlock a puzzle at the end of my journey, all I found on this stop was a hero with the face of a pig. Begging a witch to give him immortality. A woeful end to a hero of man.
