Reflect

Anton, I’m not going to be my loud, boisterous, flamboyant self today. I’m just going to talk to you as a human being. I’m going to let my guard down because the only ones we can really trust are people like us and you might not want to admit it, you and I mirror each other in a multitude of ways.

Looking at you is like a reflection and if I can’t trust myself, who can I trust?

I can already see your doubts. You believe you’re nothing like me but just give me a moment of your time to explain what I see and how I perceive it.

Let’s start with the easiest comparison first, you and I care about our craft more than anything else in this world, our pride is intertwined with the product we put out into the world.

All of our energy and time is devoted to creating the perfect delicacy, whether it be in haute cuisine or haute couture. Before choosing the ingredients or materials, we illustrate the masterpieces we are determined to bring to life.

We then go to our preferred markets to choose the apex components. Once we have finished shopping, we go to our respective headquarters and use our favorite machinery to carve, cut, and perfect what we will show to the world. After going through every preparation whether it’s cooking or stitching, all that’s left is to garnish it whether with spices or stones.

It takes a lot of time but the finished product makes it all worth it. All that energy and effort takes a toll though, doesn’t it? I’m sure you handle life like a delicate souffle, any bad moment in the kitchen makes you deflate and rage against the one that made you break.

I’m the same way and it’s not out of malice, it’s out of care. When you see others not putting in the same effort you do, it’s bound to piss you off. It’s not just one dish, it’s your name, it’s your way of life on the line.

I can see that in you because I see it in me, let’s make the next logical jump. You and I are both creative types that flourish in chaos through perfection and precision, masters of our field because we make sure we’re masters in our locale. You and I are the same, where our passions lie is the difference.

The minor difference in us is the only thing I can count on to succeed against you.

You see, just like we are reflections of each other, our passions reflect us as well. Fashion is about standing out and the best of it endures the test of time. The worst still lasts and has potential for a comeback. Culinary creations are about consumption. The best are devoured and the worst are left to rot.

You see, even if it’s my worst day and it’s your best, I will still linger, always able to come back. You are always bound to be destroyed.
