Street Justice

In Mighty Mighty, Promo by Mighty Mighty

“Captain Arcadia!”

[Mighty Mighty, a larger-than-life wrestler in brightly colored attire, stands in the center of the street; an audience has gathered around, creating a makeshift arena, eager to hear what Mighty has to say as the camera rolls.]

“You believe that you’re a hero of all Arcadia, but unfortunately wearing a red, white, and blue with a shiny shield doesn’t make you a hero, daddy-o. What it shows me is that you’re a wannabe, a poser! I think you don’t know anything about being a hero, only by dressing like one.”

[The fans are chanting his name as he soaks it in.]

“You see, captain, if you’re a hero, Arcadia won’t be in this state. You know who is the real hero? It’s someone who doesn’t need to wear a costume and a mask to cover their face. Someone like me. You see, the fans here that are chanting my name know that I did something to better their lives, even for just a day, so that they can have a chance to better their lives for a long shot, and do you want to know why? Because I was once like them, and I was lucky enough to pull myself out of an unfortunate state. This is why I help them and never announce it to the whole of Arcadia.”

“I may be a villain in your eyes, as I’m your opponent this week, but I’m a hero in these people’s eyes, and you know I will do what these people in the streets wish that you will get, and that is justice, not just any justice but street justice.”

[People arounds him are still chanting his name.]

“You have to understand, when I see the people in the streets, I see the people you have let down. I see the lies that your speeches give that you think raise people’s morale, only to be filled with false hope. Right now, you see that I’m in one of the streets that you’ve let down and also how convenient our match is a street fight because before I was a fun-loving guy, I was a brute from the street, something that wasn’t fun but something that I have to do to live.”

[He takes a short breather before he continues to speak.]

“But I may have to tap into that old me because, not just because I’ve been in the strings of  losses, but because your false heroism angers me. I question your heroism and I want answers. And no fancy shields and no elaborate costume will protect you from the force that’s about to come down on you, and that force will be a 350-pound chunk of funk, and Captain Arcadia, are you ready to have fun? I’ll see you at Vendetta.”

[The crowd erupts, and Mighty Mighty marches forward, making his way to the nearby fast food establishment to buy their day supply to feed the people as the scene fades to black.]
