The Concept of Teamwork

The very concept of Teamwork should be easy.

Trusting another person, even for a moment doesn’t seem like that much of a hard sell. Afterall, in most if not every single person is the need for companionship, the desire to trust and understand is intrinsically linked to the very soul.

Yet why in this broken world does it seem an impossibility?

Friends distrust one another, budding relationships erase themselves even before they began, even between blood hatred festers and boils until it spills over into blinding vengeance. Bonds cannot form in a wrathful climate. As even when they do form, the slightest mistake shatters the foundation in an instant.

So what would happen when you force twelve people to align themselves with two strangers and expect them to not only get along, but forge chains that will withstand even the fiercest combat?

You get potential chaos and for a hero who wants to bring this world together, his potential worst nightmare.

While the other teams bicker and fight, they at least seem slightly on the same page. Some more then others but one of my links is a hot blooded brash thrillseeker who’d rather pal around with her opponent then her partner trying to do the ring and the other….the other is a sociopathic dickhead who loves dealing out pain to others and openly attacked his own partner in the ring.

The concept of Teamwork should seem impossible. A giant brick wall trapping the chain so the links can’t even hope to fully form. It’s impenetrable from turmoil, unsurmountable from arrogance and greed and hopes of any sort of friendship to scale it together was shattered when steel met bone.

Yet our chain will be the strongest of all four. Because unlike the others who try to fight through their limitations or pretend that their partnership is anything but temporary, we’re under no illusions that our team is one of convenience and desire.

The concept of Teamwork is easy, you just have to understand those who stand by your side.

Jasper is a piece of shit who wants nothing but glory, Aurora is a wild child who wants to help people and keep them safe and I’m the glue that holds them together. I’m the hero that will help her protect the innocent, the pragmatist that will guide him to a chance at the world title once more.

You ignore your flaws and the things will break and shatter the chains.

Hatchet and Gravedigger despise one another and treat the Rogue like a child, Six Feet Under are going to work for themselves and destroy any other team the first chance they get and as for DOOM, it doesn’t matter how much his team believes in him and Sunshine smiles upon their fortuitous union. The moment anyone hurts Felix, he’s going to destroy them even if it’s one of his so called beloved team-mates.

The concept of Teamwork is easy, you just have to have Hope and Faith.

And thankfully for Redgrave and Aurora, I was born with them.
