The Last Bloom

Reverend Ezekiel GravesEzekiel Graves, Promo

[The scene opens in a peaceful garden, the sun shining brightly over blooming flowers. Reverend Graves stands in the center, surrounded by vibrant plants and the serene sound of birds singing. His expression is dark, his eyes troubled as he tends to a single rose.]

“A garden is a place of life, beauty, and growth. But even in the most beautiful places, darkness can creep in. Weeds grow among the flowers. It takes a careful hand to pull them out, to keep the garden pure.”

[He stares at the rose, his fingers tracing its petals as he speaks quietly.]

“I believed I was the hand of God, chosen to pull the weeds, to bring judgment to those who stand in the way of His will. But after what happened with Old Nick, I can’t help but wonder…did I lose sight of His plan? Have I become the very thing I swore to destroy?”

[Graves closes his eyes, memories of Morningstar’s taunts echoing in his mind.]

“‘You did it on your own,’ he said. ‘Killing in the Almighty’s name doesn’t make you righteous.’ Those words have haunted me. They’ve made me question everything. Was it God’s will, or my own wrath, that drove me to spill blood in Arcadia? Have I become just another killer hiding behind a holy excuse?”

[He grips the rose tightly, the thorns digging into his skin, blood mixing with the dew on the petals.]

“But as I stand here in this garden, I realize something. Doubt isn’t weakness it’s a test. A trial of my faith. Just like the weeds, doubt must be torn out and burned away, so that truth can bloom.”

[Graves rises, holding the blood-stained rose in his hand, his gaze locking onto the camera.]

“Mr. Sunshine, you walk into this tournament with endless smiles and a message of joy, believing you’re spreading light in a world of darkness. But your light blinds you to the truth. You think you can smile your way through this garden, spreading positivity without consequence. I see what lies beneath your smile. You stand in the way of God’s will, and just like Old Nick, you try to make me question my path.”

[He steps forward, the sun above dimming as shadows fall over the garden.]

“But now I see clearly. The doubts that plagued me have been burned away, and in their place is something stronger. I no longer fight to prove myself, I fight to prove that the Lord’s will cannot be denied. Sunshine, your light will fade, just like the weeds I pull from this garden.”

[Graves crushes the rose in his hand, blood dripping from his palm as the petals fall to the ground.]

“You’re not a flower, Sunshine. You’re a weed, standing in the way of divine judgment. Like Morningstar, you’ll learn no smile can protect you from the fire. May God have mercy on your soul… because I will not.”

[The garden grows darker as the scene fades.]
