Warnings Heeded

In Promo by Wolf Fang Ayame

Ah, Harold Attano, I must confess that our paths are crossing sooner than I would’ve ever expected. What with you being on a rather noble journey and I well I have my own business to attend to. But let’s put that aside for the moment and talk for a bit. You might find me a bit of a problem I’m sure. What with being a being who stands in for a specific spiritual purpose, and you being hunted by a very God?

I get it. Trust me I do, but I mean you no ill will by any of the words I intend to say. And only offer warnings for you. Something that I think you would be wise to heed. I suppose it would be best for you to get the full scope of things once you get back in the ring now wouldn’t it?

And so we begin. Your body, it’s been broken, battered, shattered, and put back together again. And I get the first shot at you. I have no doubt you could continue on if you pleased, but you’re just so consumed. The double edged sword of fury. You don’t feel anything for the moment until it all hits you like a ton of bricks. But by then it’s too late. You’ve fallen apart. So tell me Attano. Are you really all there? Or am I still facing a wounded man?

I would guess the latter given you’re distracted, if it’s not your body. It’s one hundred other things flowing through your mind. Ways to hurt, ways to get what you want. Notice how none of those affect the outcome of our match? You’re wrapped up in so many things that you might not notice you’re tied up in the end ironically!

But after all, you’re on a leash with a wild animal. Collar to Collar, I failed last week to get what was mine. I don’t intend to keep that as a routine, so when I was offered someone whose eye is off the ball like yours. I must confess. It was an opportunity most anyone would take to right the momentum of a failing ship. Some may call it a bit predatory, but then again… the wolf is the apex predator.

So Mr. Attano I’ll keep things a little bit brief for you since you’re short on time I’m sure. Should you learn? You’ll survive, hell you might even win. But if you don’t? Then I trust you know you’re in for the mauling of a lifetime. Because there is no escape. And sadly you will be returned to the Natural Order with unfinished business.

I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Much less people who have noble quests like yours. So I implore you to learn your lesson and survive. Or… well a feast for the wolf will have to survive. For one shot is not enough to kill this wolf.
