My mom said working as a stripper was like being in a family. Unlike most clubs that saw the women try to humiliate and compete with each other for credits, the ones at Drexl’s club would often stand up for each other and split their earnings equally.
They showed each other the love of an adopted family, something they supposedly never got growing up.
That said, if the strip club my mom worked at was like being with family, then Drexl himself was the abusive dad that belittled and beat his children for every little mistake. Worse, he would often take ninety percent of their earnings, leaving them with barely enough for table scraps.
Despite the issues all the performers had with him, they remained under his employment regardless. They were convinced he loved them, regardless of how he was treating them.
The performers said that you don’t abandon family no matter what. With that said, should they have remained loyal to the one who beats and berates them when they get nothing but crumbs in return?
No.
That’s the answer I would’ve liked to hear from them, much like I’d like to hear it from the performers in Klaus Way’s circus.
Much like my mom and her stripper friends, the Unnaturals love each other like an adopted family. They stick up for each other and are willing to perform for their boss, who hates them and would replace them all the moment they stop making him credits.
Klaus is like Drexl in that regard. He managed to mentally break down his performers into believing he loves them, despite showing no such thing.
He would often talk down to and torture them for not doing their jobs properly. We’ve seen what happened last week with Solus being prodded with a red hot poker, imagine what he does to the rest of his employees for not accomplishing his every desire.
I don’t have to, because I’ve seen this power imbalance once before with Drexl. While he treats his so called family like a product in front of people, he stomps on them like dirt on his shoes away from the public eye.
I didn’t like it back then, and I won’t stand for it now. The only reason that jackass got away with his actions back then was due to me being young and ordered not to fuck with him by those I worked for.
You won’t have that same luxury, Klaus. I’m older now and I don’t give a shit about who I fuck with as long as scum like you are put down for good.
When Night falls upon Olympus this coming Warzone, I’ll do whatever it takes to show the Unnaturals how weak you really are, much like I should have with Drexl before the Red Light District collapsed around me.
This time will be different.
This time, I won’t be restrained as injustice runs rampant.
This time, I’ll be the one to bring the darkness down.
Darkness comes before the dawn, after all… and I am the Night.
