We stand up on the tipping point between chaos and order. For about a year Jackie, you’ve led the APD and I cannot tell you how disappointed I was seeing you bringing your men to bear against people like Tombstone and Narcissa. You’ve put the lives of good men and women at risk, you’ve ruined families, and hurt people because they’ve been injured or killed by your orders. Now, you and your father ask Gemini, El Mariachi Muerte, and myself to follow your lead. Let you, the man whose orders have done so many others lead us to our potential ruination.
But Jackie, this isn’t to say I hate you. That’s not to say that I don’t respect what you’ve attempted to accomplish as the Sheriff of Arcadia. No, this is war, something you’ve only played at. Nothing you’ve done can prepare you for what we’re against. I’ve stood against Narcissa before, stood in defiance against Doom, bled and suffered the impact of War, and led from the front line.
Against Narcy Doll’s Uprising, The Pool Boys, Six Feet Under, Klaus Way’s Circus, and The House of Judgment. I’ve been in wars with all of them. I’ve given my health, my sanity, and my family to them in these battles. But that’s what being a leader means Jackie, giving of yourself, showing the world the right way, and letting those that follow you that you’re not afraid to do what you know is right, no matter who or how many enemies you make.
Just like I know my daughter hates my guts but she’s going to see me out here every night and day doing my best to make this hellscape better for her whether she wants to accept it or not. Because Jackson my boy this war of ours’ isn’t some feud with a serial killer or a court case with a self-absorbed narcissist. This is about the soul of Arcadia and the future. It’s about your potential children and my potential grandkids, from what I’ve witnessed firsthand after everything from losing your mentor on the force to the killing of your brother. You still lack the ability to know when you need to put someone down and a true leader needs to know when to make that decision.
So, this week I am going to teach you how to lead from the front of the pack. When and where to make the tough call, to pull that trigger. This week the classroom for Leadership One-O-One will be open, and Mr. Nobody will be your lecturer. It will be the toughest lesson old Uncle Harry’s ever had to teach and it will be the most painful fucking class that you’ve ever had to attend. But Jackie, I know all it will take is One Shot, One Kill, to get the message across that Nobody knows how to lead like Nobody.
