I know what loss feels like all too intimately. I’ve lost time, connections, and family. No, not lost, taken from me. It’s a wrenching feeling when I think of everything taken from me. I could’ve used the time to cultivate a true life here amongst my friends. Connecting with them and growing an actual relationship with my family. All of it was stolen from me and taken so callously by a baron who never cared for me. Who gave the order to put me on Deathrow, told my mentor to ruin my life, and have my daughter killed. I think about those facts and ask myself what do I need to do next?
I look across from the ring this week and I see some people with the same motivations.
I see a scientist forced to spend his time with a perpetual man-child with his life tied up with puppets and other toys. Robbed of the time he could’ve used it for his scientific pursuits.
That same man-child was given a friend he thought he trusted, someone he connected with on a very emotional level, and that person was robbed of that connection. No, his very innocence in that moment.
And a young man having his family stolen from him. First, his mother in a fire dies before his eyes and then he has to watch as his father parishes in the office of the very Corporation that stole his mother from him.
Every one of them is a bit like me. In very different ways. They’ve all been forced to sacrifice at the Altar of Arcadia. They’ve all given a part of themselves for this world we live in, in their own way but where we differ is that I am preparing to break that Alter.
Destroy the very system we’ve all sacrificed for. Make sure that no one has to give to a system that just takes from them anymore.
But at the end of it all it’s their choice either they can stand with me in my fight to rectify this all or can find themselves the victims of this world, and if they choose to remain as part of this system well then nobody won’t have a problem exploiting that weakness. I will not have a problem making you all martyrs to the cause. An example that each and every citizen in Arcadia can seek out. Showing them the way of the righteous, a body littering the path like a breadcrumb showing them the way to our destination. Free from oppression, from a baron’s thumb, and free from forced sacrifice. I don’t need the two other men standing with me to show you that way. This system is broken, it is built upon lies and oppression. Silencing those who speak out and would bring change to the status quo. If you would silence me in defense of this system, well then nobody will silence you. Because from here on out if you stand against Nobody all they will find is a body.
