Most people don’t need someone else to lock them in a cage.
They do it to themselves.
They put up the bars. They weld the chains. They limit themselves, restrict themselves, tell themselves they can’t go further, can’t break out and can’t be more. They tell themselves they belong inside that cage.
I know this because I did it to myself.
For years, I lived inside a cage of Igor Mortis’ making. A prison of his own creation. I let him decide who I was. I let him pull the strings and dictate my every move. I could’ve walked away, I could’ve torn down those bars at any time, but I didn’t. I told myself I needed to stay, that I had nowhere else to go.
But when I finally broke free, when I decided to chase what was mine and to carve my own destiny…
Life punished me for it.
That’s the thing about cages—you can escape them, but you can’t escape the consequences.
That’s why I almost admire you, Klaus.
You never let anyone cage you. You could’ve followed in your father’s footsteps, taken over the family business, let your life be dictated by tradition—but you didn’t. You chose your own path. You built your own kingdom, your own twisted circus and you refused to be restrained.
Until now.
Because by caging Mighty Mighty, you’ve done something you swore you never would.
You’ve caged yourself.
You don’t see it yet, but you’ve backed yourself into a corner. You’ve trapped yourself in a fight you can’t win. Because now, where Mighty is, you need to be. You’ve limited your own movements and tied yourself to him in ways you don’t even realize.
And here’s the thing about cages, Klaus…
Every single one of them is breakable.
It doesn’t matter how strong you think it is. It doesn’t matter how much control you think you have. One day, the bars will bend and the walls will shake. The entire thing will come tumbling down, and it doesn’t need a key. It just needs the right mindset and desire to break free. Mighty will find his way there, whether now, tomorrow or next week and when he does…
Mighty will escape.
And when he does, that cage you built?
It won’t be empty.
It’ll close in around you.
And when you look up, when you finally see the bars around you, when you reach out and realize you’re the one trapped—
I’ll be there.
Watching.
Waiting.
And it’ll be your end, Klaus.
You should never fear your end.
Because the end is where we meet..
And I will send you on your way!
