[A computer.]
[The room around us is dark, the glow of the monitor being the only source of light.]
[On screen is a split view of several different areas of Arcadia.]
[Click.]
[One of the four areas is blown up to full screen.]
[Slowly, the surveillance cameras begin to cycle between one another.]
[Suddenly, something catches our attention. Two men sitting across from each other at a small table.]
[George Cade and Jasper Redgrave.]
“You let me worry about that, Redgrave. It seems you have something else on your plate that you’ll have to address sooner.”
[A smirk twists onto an already delighted expression on Jasper’s face. He slides back into his chair. He could not be more relaxed.]
“Ah, yes.”
“We’ve come to know each other quite well, Mr. Cade.”
“You know that I’m a rather smart man. You know that when we’re looking at the bigger picture, allegiances don’t mean much. Despite his tussle with Ezekiel, I saw the potential in The Red Reboot.”
“He could have been quite useful to us as a whole. Does not having his loyalty lose us the war? No. But having it would have made things all that more easier.”
[George nods his head. If he knew one thing, he knew that Jasper Redgrave does not operate without good reason.]
“I gave him the opportunity to join us on the winning side of this war.. and he chose to shake the hand of your pathetic son.”
“He chose to walk the path of The Seekers, and therefore.. he’s of no use to me.”
“And when you’re of no use to me..”
[Redgrave shrugs. A look of unease blankets George Cade.]
“At Warzone, Nero will have no where to run.”
“No monitors to hide behind.”
“And I can guarantee you this much, that son of yours won’t be there to repay the favor given to him.”
“When Nero needs it most, there won’t be a seeker in sight.”
[Redgrave pushes himself to a stand and strolls around the table.]
[Suddenly, his focus turns directly to the camera we’re watching from.]
[A wide grin appears as he walks towards the camera.]
“You had your chance, Nero.”
“You could have been sitting at this table with us, but instead you’re watching from the sidelines.”
“But you’re just a coward, aren’t you?”
“You’re worthless unless you’re sitting behind a computer from an unknown location.”
“In the face of evil, you’ll fold just like the rest of them.”
[A chuckle is given.]
“And there’ll be no one there to pick you back up again.”
“At Warzone, all of your recent mistakes come to light.”
“Your betrayal. Your loyalty to a broken cause.”
“All of it becomes your downfall.”
[Redgrave grabs the camera and pulls it from the wall, looking deep into the lens up close and personal.]
“Unlike your friend Ezekiel, I’m no man of God.”
“This week, The Red Reboot short circuits.”
[Redgrave laughs maniacally as he drops the camera to the floor and crushes it beneath his boot.]
[Static.]
