Blood Will Spill

Jasper RedgraveJasper Redgrave, Promo

[Inside the Cade residence, it’s dark. Not a soul in sight. Everything seems unbothered. It’s been that way for weeks.]

[The rattling of keys can be heard outside the front door.]

[Click.]

[The door unlocks…]

[And George Cade pushes through the door. He’s got his arms full of bags. He’s clamoring, trying to find the light switch over the mound of bags in his arms.]

Don’t bother.”

[Gulp.]

[George’s back stiffens. His arms open instinctively as the bags fall to the floor.]

“I need to be very clear about something here, George.”

[The situation feels all too familiar.]

[The voice from the shadows is as silky as satin. It’s calm. It’s dripping with venom.]

[George carefully turns around.]

[It’s The Killer King, Jasper Redgrave.]

[Sat a table, he kicks the chair across from him out, gesturing for George to sit across from him.]

“Last week, I tried it your way.”

[George lowers his head as he carefully takes a seat across from The Artist.]

“I tried to be civil.”

“You told me that he would listen to you. You told me that you’d be able to reason with your son. You’d be able to open his eyes to the bigger picture.”

“But you failed miserably to do that, didn’t you, George?”

[George looks up at Jasper who’s glaring back at him. Almost scolding him.]

“You seem to fail to understand that your son wants me dead.”

“He wants to bury me six feet under, and he wants it done by his own hands.”

“Which is why.. and let me be very clear..”

[Jasper leans forward, placing his arms on the table.]

“I’m done listening to you.”

“At Ring of Dreams, it’s time we do things my way.”

“If there’s one thing that I know how to do, it’s get the attention of your son.”

“If you want him to listen to what you have to say, you write it in fucking blood.”

[Redgrave slithers back into a relaxed position.]

“You see, I’ve had Jackson’s attention this whole time. Every time he started to defy me as he has you, I gave him a reason to keep listening.”

“When he wouldn’t take me seriously, I painted a picture for him in the blood of his own superior.”

“When he thought that he could strengthen the bond between him and his brother by defeating me.. I wrote my message in his brother’s blood.”

“Every single time he’s tried to stand against me, I’ve always been there with a stern reminder that I own him, written in crimson.”

[Jasper cracks a twisted smile.]

“Ring of Dreams will be no different.”

“I will do whatever it takes to get my message across.”

Blood will spill, George. And it won’t be mine..”

[Jasper pushes away from the table and stands up. He takes his leave, brushing directly past a George Cade who seems to be deep in thought.]

[Before he leaves, Jasper pats George on the shoulder in passing..]

[His words turn icy.]

“Don’t let it be yours.”

[Another pat leaves George slumped in his chair.]

[Jasper opens the door..]

[Fade.]
