Vendetta #366 - Grimm Tales

Quote from The Burned Man on 10 October 2024, 11:01POP OF THE NIGHT:
Gonna give this to Firing Squad. Well, I had a feeling this wasn't going to end as well as Cade hoped. Dude not only got beaten bloody, but he also got outwitted by the Ferryman. As a result, he got shot at by the officers of his command and his fate is unknown. I do wonder if he survived the gunfire from his Eagle Unit though. I'd hope so, given I don't really want anything to affect the boiler room brawl match. However, it's highly unlikely. I personally can't wait to see the fallout of the segment on the next show. Hopefully I'll find out how bad Jackson got fucked up, but still standing by the end of it.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
If not Jasper, who is the stalker that's filming Aurora at her most vulnerable? Are they connected to the Artist in any way, or is the stalker completely unrelated to him?
Did Drewitt actually visit Muerte? Or is it as impossible as Zeus says it is? If so, who or what was it that visited him last week? And will Gemini remember it before EMM or Paragon spill the beans to her?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
TBM - Yeah, I'm not really feeling this feud either. I don't quite know what DB's plan was regarding the Besties, but having them attack Felix, who is currently suffering from some kind of brain damage, definitely wasn't the best one to go with. It doesn't really fit their character to do something like that either. It'd make more sense if Foley struck first and they were defending themselves, but they delivered the first blow. It doesn't help that I too think that Besties and Burning Justice has ran it's course and we need more tag teams to challenge them for the belts. I don't quite know where this story is going to go next, but hopefully things get straightened out and we find out why the father and son set up the gas cannisters. I feel like we were kind of getting somewhere with that, but now it's been ignored for whatever this was.
Calypso - Can't say much of anything here in terms of the segment. Calypso pretty much spent the entire segment knocked out, presumably by Harold. Besides, Visiting Hours 4 wasn't supposed to be about her anyways. More about Harold being a badass despite being unable to move much. While I hope for a developmental storyline for her eventually, I'm excited to see how Cade and Attano pan out.

Quote from Anton Savor on 10 October 2024, 19:46POP OF THE NIGHT: for me, i’ll probably have to say firing squad. scenes like this is why osw really stands out the way it does, cause like it was said above, it really looked like something out of a movie. its so great cause its not lost on us that this is a wrestling product and essentially the ring is where the scores get settled. but we’re really having scenes of a firing squad trying to take somebody out. im not too privy on whats going on with jackson and tombstone rn but i cant wait to see where this leads to next.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
what will be the trickling effect of this attempt firing squad assassination of tombstone?
how will this dynamic between morningstar and ezekiel work? two characters that just seem destined to mix it up with each other.
what is paragon up to?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
nothing for anton yet but excited to get started with him. sidebar i love the lucky break posts and i noticed that it said anton was looking around in the slums for ingredients or so. not sure who thats about or what it could mean but i cant wait to find out

Quote from Jasper Redgrave on 10 October 2024, 23:40POP OF THE NIGHT: Firing Squad
This was a segment full of heat. Jackson Cade seems to be letting the power he's gained since becoming sheriff get the better of him. Are we finally seeing the side of Jackson Cade that Jasper Redgrave had seen in the beginning? I'm interested to know what Cade was trying to accomplish if he knew that they couldn't kill Tombstone by firing squad? This segment was very well written. How will Tombstone react? What might Cade try next?BURNING QUESTIONS:
- What plan does Malakai have?
- Who is Aurora's stalker?
- What was Jackson Cade's plan if he knew that Tombstone wouldn't die?
- How will Tombstone respond to an attempted assassination by firing squad?
- What does "Doom's Way" entail?HAVE YOUR SAY:
Another solid few segments this week. Redgrave is obviously putting on some sort of a show, but for who? Could he be using Aurora to lure in whoever the stalker might be? In that case, who could the stalker be that Redgrave would take interest in? Also, it seems like Aurora has had enough. I like these segments because they have that old school slasher flick feel to them. If she's to assume her role and have a classic slasher battle with Redgrave, I'm all for it.Also, that main event was fucking brutal. I loved every moment of it.

Quote from Klaus Way on 11 October 2024, 01:00POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
Poor Jackson Cade always seems to face bullets at the end of the show! And here is no different. I loved the little switcheroo at the end where Tombstone swapped himself out of the firing line and Cade into it. It's exactly the sort of thing a seemingly almost omnipotent supernatural ferryman of death would do, really, isn't it? I do wonder a) how Cade gets out of this and b) how he plans to actually stop Tombstone given a literal firing squad couldn't.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- Will Aurora ever stop running from Redgrave? I'm hoping for a big finale for this feud.
- Where are the APD during Graves' serial killing spree? Surely Jackson Cade hasn't depleted the whole force to sort out his family affairs!?
- I think the feedback that we haven't really seen much of the effects of Foley's concussion play out on screen yet is a valid one. I presume that playing those cards too early would make Toy Stories harder, but there has been no hint towards it for a while. Maybe the fact that we know OOC is the real criminal here, as we know what we're expecting the outcome to be before we get there.
- I also agree that it's nice to see another appearance from the stalker filming Aurora, just to keep us on our toes.
- Is Gemini going to remember soon!?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
I like the sense of disturbed loyalty on display from Klaus in 'Words Over Action' this week. You know it's less out of his generous nature and more out of a feeling of 'owning' Ajax in some ways, but it's still nice to see some kind of togetherness, and Gravedigger being dished out the punishment he has been giving to others in recent weeks was certainly very nice to see. If only Malakai and his Owls had not stepped in and stopped the punishment :(. I am intrigued at the last couple of sentences though, and wonder what this plan is that Malakai is so certain can be achieved by words alone.

Quote from Harold Attano on 11 October 2024, 02:30POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
Firing Squad
What can’t Tombstone do, Cade has managed to keep the scales but he’s had to leverage more and more of his resources at every turn. But Tombstone is staying ahead of the game by just being, well, Tombstone. Cade has had to bring the full force of the APD down on the Ferryman’s head and mere moments Tombstone is gone while Cade as well the APD as whole is left disarmed and vulnerable. This whole segment solidifies that Tombstone is a monster while Cade is but a man, and that shit is fucking scary.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
Can Cade overcome Tombstone on his own?
How many bodies will Reverend Graves stack up to make his point, and will Nick Morningstar be one of them?
Will Paragon expose the truth, and has Drewitt broken out from his prison (and if so how)?
How will this conflict between Way and Gravedigger play out and what effect will it have on the House of Judgment?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
Harold: Hell yeah, my boy is back. After weeks of being unable to do much of anything but take verbal abuse and disrespect to have Harold show that his recovery is further along than anyone else expected was fucking brilliant. Seeing him being the last one standing after all the shit that’s been shoveled on him recently was fucking awesome! Harold may haven’t competed in more than a month but man he still feels like a damn big deal!
Nox: Drawing a loss against Gemini, there’s no shame in that. But I hope I can bring him back to some form of providence as we draw close to Red Snow.

Quote from Candy Kane on 11 October 2024, 02:45POP OF THE NIGHT: It was the duo set of Redgrave's New Nightmare/Spotlight for me. I've been keeping an eye on this feud, and I think it was really fun to open up the classic "Spooky Month" with a proper chase scene, showing off just how demented and obssesed that Redgrave currently is in search of that perfect scream. And then following up with Aurora cleaning herself up and renewing that determination to come out of this on top was just a fun set of segments for this week for sure.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Is Jackson going to get gunned down by his own men?
- What's made Felix change his mind on his usual kind mannerisms and doing it DOOM's way?
- What does Malakai mean by "Words will get us what we want?"
- Was it really Drewitt that visited El Mariachi Muerte? Or was it a Paragon trick like Zeus said?
- Will Morningstar have the upper hand, or will this bloodthirsty zealot in Ezekiel Graves take his life as well?
HAVE YOUR SAY: I don't know who's writing the feud this month but you're absolutely fucking killing it! This was so in character, the vibes and scene work fantastic, and I absolutely adored seeing Candy come out on top over this. Having her stay calm in the face of the gun, swinging out with her brass knuckles and getting the upper hand? Just some top notch stuff for the gal. Brilliant fucking work.

Quote from Narcissa Balenciaga on 11 October 2024, 09:00POP OF THE NIGHT:
Firing squad takes it for me, Tombstone is becoming more and more of a beast that looks impossible to take down. Cade said it out loud that he can't kill Tombstone but he can hurt him a whole lot. I don't know if it even did that with the way Tombstone just disappeared. He's always been strong but this feels like an even more intense version of Tombstone with each segment he appears in.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
How many people is Graves going to kill?
Will George tell Attano what he wants to hear?
What is Doom going to do for retaliation?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Not as much as last week for Narcissa for sure but the main thing this week for me was just happy to return to action, happy to write promos again and even get on top 3. I'm back and very happy to be back doing this with you guys!
