Lately, the opening segments have really knocked it out of the park for me, and this week is no different. On Your Way 1 was very atmospheric, understated in the best possible way and kept some of the intrigue about last week's cliff hanger going until the follow up segment. Very well done.
Also WOOO MR. SUNSHINE WOOOOO
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- First the APD, now trying to frame Burning Justice? How many pies does Malakai want his fingers in, and why them? Looking forward to finding out (the latter question appears to have been answered by a later segment).
- Even if Felix can't be 'cured', can he mentally adjust to the way he sees people over time? I hope he does - he seems both too kind and too smart to freak out forever about it.
- Jackson is doing the right thing, but... What hope does he have alone if everyone together failed to deal with Tombstone? I don't envy him.
- Stab wounds don't heal in a week. How badly will Thorpe be affected at Ring King?
- And of course... Who will win Ring King? It's a pretty damn stacked field!
HAVE YOUR SAY:
First off.. "What are you waiting for, huh!? What are you waiting for!?"
This made me chuckle. Aurora clearly knows what Jasper Redgrave did last summer. Thought it was going into 'final girl' territory after last week, so I smiled the second I saw the segment name! Also glad that the stalker is now making more frequent appearances, it has restored the steam that particular part of the angle was losing.

Quote from Felix Foley on 12 October 2024, 13:10POP OF THE NIGHT:
Guess Who? - Last week the CJ Thorpe vs. Narcissa story lacked any emphasis, and was a side note in the Harold Attano vs. George Cade story. This week, the minute I saw Thorpe break into The House of Sovereigns, I instantly thought MISTAKE. It didn't turn out that way at the time but if you're going to do something that drastic, you'd need to finish the task ands he didn't. By the end of the show, Narcissa and Calypso, a double act that anyone should be afraid of, made it very clear that in this game, you get it done or you get it done to you. CJ now finds himself in this tricky predicament ahead of Ring King and whilst I'm sure he'll survive it, the condition he'll be in may make it hard for him to retain. Great segment!
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Can Thorpe make it in one piece to Ring King?
- Who's gonna win Ring King?
- Who is the stalker?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Hurray! I've been begging for some muppety action and I received some this week. I didn't see the Six Feet Under linkage coming but it was executed really well to that degree, I thought. I'm looking forward to the match!
I'm excited to be in yet another semi-final of Ring King. I didn't succeed last year and lost out to Frank. I'm hopeful that I can try and at least make the final this year, but either way I'm really proud of getting to this point against some great opposition and against some to follow.

Quote from Roland Gray on 13 October 2024, 03:23POP OF THE NIGHT: Final Girl. This has been a fun angle and I’m a sucker for horror/slasher movie tropes, basically. The shattered window and absent attacker? “What are you waiting for?” Come on. Glorious.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Who’s behind the damn camera with Aurora?
- If Felix is seeing everyone as muppets… does he hear them with muppet voices as well?
- Medical won’t clear Attano, but what will Zeus say? Is this a ruse?
- The obvious: who is taking Ring King?
HAVE YOUR SAY: I’m into it! I’m curious to see the reveal for the mystery antagonist for Roland. What’s their story? Roland’s now got multiple contracts out on him, hunter becomes the hunted kind of deal. There are a lot of ways to run with that and I’m excited to see the plan play out.

Foley's affliction seems to be sewing a seed of doubt between the besties. Is this a path towards their break up?HAVE YOUR SAY: I'm curious to see where this goes for WFA and wanna see where this plays out. So far so good

Quote from Anton Savor on 16 October 2024, 04:24POP OF THE NIGHT: i really did like guess who. i think that due to i guess the manner in which all of these stories being told in osw are so unique and just eccentric (much like the characters behind these stories), it just allows for so many crazy moments like these. and like i said last week, this place is just so crazy that it reads honestly like some crazy horror film/show. i particularly liked the part where thorpe was met with calypso’s terrifying appearance and how he about jumped out his skin.
BURNING QUESTIONS: whos behind this aurora ordeal? what will zeus have to say about attano participating in his match? how far is this muppets thing gonna go with felix? whos behind the contracts with roland?
HAVE YOUR SAY: not too much to be said with anton this week. cool segment i reckon to get all the new characters involved in something for ring king. cant wait for the next step of the journey

Quote from The Burned Man on 16 October 2024, 16:06POP OF THE NIGHT:
Gonna give this to the On Your Way saga. At least Jackson's come to his senses and realized he was putting not only himself in danger, but his men too. To think all it took for him to realize he was no better than Gordon was having one of his fellow men take a bullet for him. Well, more like having the man that took it talk about how he didn't want to do that and nobody wanted the stuck up turned psychopath (Blankenship's words, not mine) to be a sheriff. It must've struck a chord with Cade too, because he called off reinforcements and prevented what would've been a second bloodbath for the APD. Will that be a bad idea? Or will Jackson somehow surprise us with his tenacity?
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Who is the masked man that took contracts on Roland Gray? How many of these new signings will try to take him out instead of focusing on their upcoming match? Hell, just what does that contract entail?
Will Attano go against doctor's orders and show up to fight at Ring King? Or will he actually listen and stay in recovery for his own good? What will Zeus think if he doesn't show up to fight?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
TBM - You know, I'm glad that we had a bit of course correction this week. It comes across as pretty jarring, given what happened last week, but at least DB and TBM are acting more like themselves. Maxwell didn't play too large of a role here. Just getting one line and attacking Malakai while disguised as one of his owls. I'm glad the other teams are getting involved though. That way it's not just Burning Justice vs. the Besties number 5, I think. Interested in seeing how the other two teams interact with us and the Champs.
Calypso - I'm still quite surprised to see Calypso and Narcissa working together. Given the month and a few weeks she's been fucking with her mind, you'd think there'd be some reprehension between them teaming up. Despite that, I'm glad they're able to set aside their differences to focus on CJ. I have to wonder just what kind of shape he'll be in to fight Narcissa after the torture that he, admittedly, brought upon himself. Will he even make it? Guess that's for you to know and us to find out. 😛

Quote from Klaus Way on 17 October 2024, 01:24POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
One thing I do like about Tombstone is this ability he has almost to alter or create a reality. We've seen him "take" people on the boat without them being dead before. I'm not sure if Cade is really there on the real boat, or whether the entire thing is a creation by Tombstone to freak out the Sheriff, but either way I think it ramps up the tension in the feud and further solidifies Tombstone as this supernatural ethereal being. Part of this storyline has been, and continues to be, just how can Cade measure up to these powers, so playing off this in On Your Way I this week is a great choice of show opener.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- CJ is a brave man entering Zeus' bedroom to get to Narcissa. What will come of this for him?
- Who is putting the contract on Rolands head, and WHY!?
- How is Attano even going to get to the RING at RK?
- How exactly does the Night Owls pretending to be Burning Justice play into this storyline? Will be interesting to see that one develop.
- Good to get some muppetry this week. I wonder if we get to see it properly ramp up at RK ahead of the special?
- Will be find out the stalkers identity at RK? I think the answer might be no as I think that might be a set up for Red Snow that comes a bit down the line!
- Ah I see I have an answer to question one. Narcissa paid him back with a bedroom visit of her own and she even took a friend!
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
There isn't too much to comment on in the segment this week. It's nice to see Klaus and Damien have some interaction further to some Ajax interaction recently, and also nice to see the pair go for the tag division - I wonder if the Circus wins whether they'd want to implement the freebird rule? That could definitely be fun. Regardless of the winners though, there is such a mashup of characters in this tag match, and so many good handlers too.

AGAINST DOCTOR'S ORDERS
This has been such a build of a storyline. I feel like this is a really pivotal moment for Attano. We have the potential cancelling of the match here. All signs report to the fact that Attano cannot compete. But there's one pop that stands in the way. One little fact that changes everything.
Nobody here has any power, except Zeus. And he isn't about to cancel the fight.
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
- I really liked SQUEAL - the noir style monologue over the scene really fits the characters. I wonder what repercussions Candy is going to have for Gino at Ring King after this?
- Locke, Ayame, Gray and Mighty Mighty, Savor. Five people that could make a hell of a splash (Mighty Mighty would literally make a hell of a splash). Who is going to be the one to step out from this and make people take notice?
- What is going to happen to CJ Thorpe? Does Calypso just go where she can cause the most pain and suffering, or does she have some kind of alliances in all of this?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
SUNSHINE: I'm honoured just to have made the final four. Some really beastly matchups this time around and to get this far is amazing. I'm excited for Ring King.
EMM: Nothing this week. I'm excited for the match though. Bring on Ring King!

Quote from Candy Kane on 17 October 2024, 12:55POP OF THE NIGHT: On Your Way I/II take it for me this week personally. It's interesting to see the consequences of the shooting, and having Jackson Cade being forced to watch Tombstone take one of his own men down the river for the consequences of his own actions was a fantastic setup for the Boiler Room Brawl. The piece where he chooses to face the monster head on alone was a great moment, although I've got this nagging feeling that the lieutenant might not let that happen.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- How's this four way Tag Team battle going to properly go down?
- Will CJ Thorpe survive what Calypso and Narcissa are dishing out to him?
- Who really is the stalker of Aurora?
- Who put out the hit on Roland Gray?
- Will Attano make it to Ring King?
HAVE YOUR SAY: It's good to have a solid moment with Gino for this one, and this segment really feels like a proper flowing thread of segments. I gotta say, this has to be one of the best bits of the feud I've seen so far, and it's been a fantastic one as it is. Excellent work!
