Vendetta #371

Quote from Harold Attano on 6 December 2024, 03:49POP OF THE NIGHT: (What was the moment, in segment, that you enjoyed the most and why?)
A Dirty Smile, just all the questions coming out of this (I will cover more in my Burning Questions). But the thought that Cheery Charlie is hiding a potential darker side and a connection with the ACA and The Kingdom. The layered callbacks to Captain Arcadia’s mission to uncover The Kingdom’s secrets and possibilities that lay ahead leave me wanting more and needing answers, making this my POTN!
BURNING QUESTIONS: (What questions does the show have you asking after reading?)
Is Sunshine’s role more deeply involved? Could he be the Zoo Keeper and founder of the Kingdom with the Childhood Friendship with Mr. Kleen (aka the Original Yellow Python)?
Is Tombstone trying to bring Scissor back? Is Felix going to embrace his family curse? Is that what the attack on Tombstone was this week?
How intense will this War get between the Cult of Owls (I think it fits) and The Church of the Killing God (also think it fits) get?
Can Ayame kill the Demon inside Locke without killing the whole of Locke?
Can EMM get through to Gemini?
Will Waye be able to recruit the Big Chunk o’ Funk?
Is there a Purge like situation brewing in Arcadia, with the end of Civility?
Will Aurora eventually embrace the “love” of Gravedigger?
Was Narcissa able to break Jackson or did he endure?
Are we going to get a segment with Harold and Michaela? Whose skeleton was uncovered? How serious a suspect is Klaus?
What other tortures does Redgrave have in store for CJ and will he complete all the stages of grief?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
Nox: I loved the fact that Doom and Nox sat there stoic and not giving an ounce of ground to the complaints of the other members of the Pantheon. And I must say I loved this quote from Zeus, “And you’ll be glad they’re inside our tent spitting out, instead of outside spitting in.” Basically saying, if shit hits the fan it’s better to have the arsonist lighting our enemies' houses on fire as opposed to having them burning ours to the ground. Just overall loved this segment, then again Zeus as a character is solid gold, and having him speak on behalf of Nox and Doom was just great.
Harold: I have to say, I do wonder if Harold knew about the body found in the burned Circus of Klaus Way. Did he disappear someone back in the day and use where Klaus’s Circus was erected and see this as an opportunity to get Klaus “off the table” and get an audience with his daughter even if for a moment? I can’t wait to see what happens next here, is Harold playing 3-D Chess with Klaus and how deep is this game between them for the fate of Michaela?

Quote from Jackson Cade on 6 December 2024, 04:38POP OF THE NIGHT:
A lot of good options here. I want to actually give a shout to both Foley's Baby Boy and The End of Civility. The former because I really enjoy getting more Foley lore. Mama Foley confirming what we saw is huge in my mind. Because we can always assume something we've been shown could have been a fabrication of some sort. But no, Foley truly is some kind of freak, isn't he?
And the latter was just a fantastically written segment that kind of gives me the same vibes of when we saw Zeus overthrow his father previously. Definitely has me wondering just what might be coming this way.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Why does Klaus want Mighty Mighty so badly?
- Just what wicked thing is coming this way that Zeus spoke about?
- Will the Disciples be able to take on the Night Owls?
- What happens now that the Gathering is behind Burning Justice?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Jackson Cade: Poor Cade, man. Narcissa is trying everything in her power to slander him and make him look incompetent. I'm just curious to know if Cade can do what his father said and endure, or if he's going to crack under the pressure.
Ajax: Man, Ajax is one mean mother fucker when he wants to be, isn't he? Loved this segment and I'm curious to know where it's leading. I hope to see the action ramp up as we head into Red Snow.
Hatchet: Not in a segment but the Gathering is and that's close enough! Loved the reference behind Chainsaw Chuck here, really excited to see what happens next.

Quote from Captain Arcadia on 6 December 2024, 04:53POP OF THE NIGHT: The First Cut take it for me on a second readthrough again. There's just something about that buildup, and then having a slightly unhinged Foley coming swinging with a paddle, and then that setup for the next week stuff is really ramping up in the best of ways. The way that Tombstone's unwound him like this, to where neither are a clear cut winner at this point in time. Will Foley unleash his beast, or is Tombstone playing him like a fiddle?
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- What does the end of civility truly mean in this instance?
- Does Adonis have a grudge against Mighty Mighty? Or is it something Klaus has tasked him with?
- Will Mama Foley ever reconnect with her darling boy?
- Will Klaus get out of Jail, or will he be stuck there?
HAVE YOUR SAY: Well, gotta give it to the Cap. When he knows who to go after, to see the connections and confront them is my lad's style, as is getting trashed by not doing any reconnisance and charging in all emotional like. Learning that Sunshine is in fact childhood friends with Mr. Kleen was a surprise for sure, and that's a name I haven't seen since the last Red Snow. Personally, I am still unsure if he's human or not at all, but that's some proper spooky stuff. Excellent work.

Quote from Wolf Fang Ayame on 6 December 2024, 06:43POP OF THE NIGHT: I really liked Step One and Step Two, the theming of the segments after the stages of grief was a really fun concept. And the cherry on top wasn't just that it was just a name and then some. It was actually invoking those emotions. And that was nice where you could've gotten away with just the naming ant it have been a proper escalation. But it's good intrigue to see what follows.
BURNING QUESTIONS: what faces the rest of the stages?
What does a Gathering and Burning Justice alliance entail?
What is Sunshine Hiding?
What does the end of Civility mean?HAVE YOUR SAY: Air of mystery surrounding what Ayame has in store for Locke, As this one seems to be coming to a head. I have a feeling things may go especially awry giving locke's desperation but. Overall I'm excited to see what was given here.

Quote from Destructo Boy on 6 December 2024, 06:56POP OF THE NIGHT: It's definetly Stage One and Stage Two here. This is exactly the type of story that truly fits the main event of Red Snow, Jasper Redgrave being the manipulative, sadistic bastard that he's truly great at being and CJ Thorpe having to weather all his bullshit. First with demanding he get beat down by DOOM in the tried and true suffer for my amusement angle and then the brutal beatdown after the main. I completely agree with sentiments too, this absolutely feels like Thorpe's tipping point here. From his tale beginning in Deathrow and the reveal of who he was throughout everything with Jasper, with Narcissa, with his brother, it feels like he's been teetering for a while and with who Jasper is and the despicable piece of shit he is, there's no way CJ's getting out of this without breaking a little, if not losing a hell of a lot. Amazing story here so far and cannot wait to see what happens at the Gallery next week.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Will Felix give Tombstone what he wants and we see that darker Felix once more? Will Scissors even be a match for Tombstone or will this just be a different coat of paint to another one sided asswhooping?
- How bloody will this war between the two cults and will either Malakai or Ezekiel survive it?
- Can EMM get to Gemini or will this be another bloodied affair for Muerte?
- What exactly is this whole calamity coming to Arcadia and how terrible is it to have the Baron so terrified?
- What else will Narcissa take away from Jackson in this "trial" and will the Sheriff be able to overcome her?
- What exactly is the relationship between Kleen and Sunshine and with the attack on Arcadia, are we getting more glimpses into the darker side of Sunshine?
- Was Klaus's arrest a 4-D chess move by Attano to be able to talk to his daughter and will Nobody able to get anything from it?
HAVE YOUR SAY: (How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)
So I was expecting something big this week but I wasn't expecting Burning Justice to go looking to the Juggallo's for help but fuck does it make sense. With Hatchet still under lock and key by the Corps, the Gathering wanting to help definetly makes sense and a big ass gang war to save Hatchet as a new potential ally is going to be sick as hell going into the final week before Red Snow.

Quote from The Burned Man on 6 December 2024, 07:51POP OF THE NIGHT:
Gonna give this to Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy and the First Cut. Felix has nothing left to lose at this point. He doesn't really love his mother anymore, he knows the truth about his conception, and now he's convinced that he has all the strength he needs to take on Tombstone, as evidenced by him hitting the Ferryman with the oar as hard as he can. I feel so bad for him, man. If there's someone that really deserves better than what he has currently, it's Foley. Hopefully he'll be able to survive the coming onslaught from the much bigger, formerly terminal man and best him. Possibly staying alive in the process.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
What do the other stages of grief entail for CJ? If denial involves him getting the snot beaten out of him and anger involves him getting upset after getting the snot beaten out of him, what's next? What other sick and torturous things does Jasper have planned this coming week?
Can Jackson Cade endure like the Shadow? Narcissa has thrown one hell of a first punch at him and I don't know if he'll be able to walk out of this court case as Sheriff or not. Will he be able to? Or will the perceived crimes be too much evidence against him?
What exactly does the Baron's warning mean for the Pantheon? I know that he's happy to have Doom and Nox on his side and not the other one, but what exactly does the other side entail? What is the end of civility? What has the Baron worried so?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
TBM - Oh dear, teaming up with the Gathering, are we? That can only lead to two possible outcomes; disaster, or strangely successful. I'd hate to imagine what will happen if things don't go exactly as planned during whatever it is they want to do to the Corporation. I also like how Maxwell acted as an enforcer for DB in this segment too. Loved watching him act as the muscle and boss around Chuck's goons despite them being armed and ready to shoot. Very fun segment that makes me wonder if things come crashing down for Burning Justice next week or not.
Calypso - I was wondering when Calypso and Savor were going to meet. I knew it wouldn't have been amicable, but I wasn't quite ready for things to escalate to an attempted stabbing. It's a good thing Calypso had a massive voodoo doll for him to stab. At least I think it was a big one. It's the only way I can imagine such a large knife only hitting the leg unless he only got the tip of the blade in. Fun segment and I'm interested in seeing where we end up going from here.

Quote from Narcissa Balenciaga on 6 December 2024, 08:58POP OF THE NIGHT:
Stage One and Stage Two, I'm loving these psychological games played by Redgrave ultimately using the stages of grief to lure Thorpe into a deeper trap. From denial to anger, this was a simple springboard of the underlying tension but written really well and it definitely makes me wonder what were going to see with depression, bargaining, and acceptance.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Will Burning Justice go whoop whoop?
What happened after the feed cut out with Tombstone and Foley?
What will Attano say to Michaela?
HAVE YOUR SAY:
First off, number one in the top three?! Surprisingly I think is a first for Narcy, one of the few accomplisments left writing her, feels really good. Secondly, I am loving these propaganda videos Narcissa is making about Cade. They read as well produced videos and I love it, really looking forward to seeing how they affect people in the trial. Thirdly, it is not lost on me that this is another Red Snow I'm going against a cop, hopefully it works well for me.
