TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. burn was a good segment. i’ve really come to enjoy this new, always fired up and ready to kick ass version of destructo. it shows in his promos just how far hes come and how everythings changed for him, and also in how he carries himself come showtime. i knew it was different when he took felix out who was trying to help him. but hes been really building on that since it happened, and his showing here with threatening ezekiels DOC and the punchy lines to boot, just good stuff all around.
  2. i’ve also really enjoyed this, i guess character development, or just the change in tune for sunshine thats been displayed lately. again this week, this presentation of him being an always smiling always positive guy was directly challenged, and its like he doesnt know how to process or function otherwise. very excited to see where this all leads to.
  3. this three part series of segments between felix and doom was gold. it was very gradual i would say, first starting with a statement from felix, a haunting reply from doom, and then the culmination at the end of the show with doom trying to end felix right then and there it seemed. and everybody else in proximity as well lol. im curious to see just how far things will go with these two and how felix will respond moving forward.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

(What questions has the show left you with?)

what does felix do next?

who will be the war games participants for both sides?

what side is drewitt gonna choose?

whos the leader of the watchers, if anyone?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

i apologize bros but i couldnt find time to read anything this week. looking forward to reading everybodys promos for the anny show tho

HAVE YOUR SAY:

those tables definitely have a way of turning man, god damn. everything happened so quick and i definitely did not anticipate for anton to be the one ending up in captivity once it was all over. no thoughts about this for right now tho, definitely eager to see what happens next week and what that conversation with anton might be about.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Actually Guerilla Warfare gets a nod this week. It's absolutely crazy that the insurgents have already made it to the point that they're actively attacking key members of the Preservationists - terrible war tactics from Zeus' crew there! I'm sure they will have plenty to attack back with in the coming weeks, though...
  2. The Weight of a Smile - I can't wrap my head around how I'm supposed to feel about Sunshine. Some weeks he is this absolute villain of a man, and then some weeks you get a segment like this one that really pulls on the ol' heartstrings.
  3. Hounds of Hades, eh? He's really going to put everything on the outcome of a war games match? Insane, but it might just work...

BURNING QUESTIONS:

(What questions has the show left you with?)

  • When did Destructo get so cool, kicking the torch out of Lucius' hands?
  • Who is the leader of The Watchers?
  • Why is Doom quite so set on killing Foley?
  • Can Cade and REdgrave keep their hands off each other long enough to not lose it all?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

(Which promo was your favourite of the week?)

I thought "Gas" was a really fun one, comparing deepfakes with the mind-altering fumes Nox sometimes uses was super interesting, well done Rob.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

(How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)

Drewitt:
I really enjoyed Liora's story from the Civil War this week, I get the feeling that Liora "disappearing" or JTR not being aware of her will play a bigger part in this story than we currently know - also hello JTR, nice to see you. His appearance reaalllllllly makes me want to know the story of how they came to be free - I hope we don't have to wait too long for that!

And what is this happiness promised to Drewitt that is worth forgiving Zeus and Narcissa for? Maybe his mortality? Could a shot at being NORMAL be the thing that drives some of Apokalypsis into enemy arms?

Klaus:
Klaus didn't appear too much this week. He was in Protest but he didn't have too many lines or actions, other than to put out a(nother) fire at the Circus. Insurance is going to be SKY HIGH next year! I do like the build between these three in the lead up to invasion though, it feels like there are definitely stakes.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

1. Fanboy moment!!! One of the DOC HAS A NAME!!! Brother Lucius HOLY SHIT, THAT’S SICK!!!! I’ve been fanboying hard over the DOC’s involvement in OSW, and this just solidified it. There were so many great moments this show, but personally, this one meant a lot. I can just imagine a new handler joining OSW and connecting with Graves the way I did while reading old results.

2. Choosing Sides: I’ve gone back and read past shows with Drewitt, and that hype video vs. Tombstone for Red Snow IX really stuck with me. His character is fascinating, and when he said:

“What have they offered you?” Muerte asks. “Happiness,” Drewitt replies.

That line hit me as a reader. Just a great segment all around.

3. Face to Face: was an awesome hype segment leading into the OSW World Championship match. The Jasper Redgrave vs. Jackson Cade rivalry is going to be a bloodbath when they finally get to throw down, and this segment made sure everyone’s ready for it. Also, I liked seeing Scott Sterling get involved. I know it’s a small thing, but it’s cool how OSW makes sure every character plays a role somewhere.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

• What’s going to happen with Red helping Mighty Mighty? With Red leaving OSW

• Who will be the six competitors in War Games?

• (Selfish question) What does Brother Lucius look like? Old? Young?

• How will Destructo take losing the tag titles? Since it was the last thing he and his father had together, I feel like that loss could really cut deep.

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Diamonds Are Forever: It was smooth, intense, and made the match feel even bigger. Loved it.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Honoured to have two segments on the show seriously, that’s a huge deal to me. Having that much “air time” is incredible, and I love how Graves is everywhere, causing chaos. I always say this, but the way OSW’s writers handle my character is perfect. Even when Graves is attacked, he never looks weak he always comes off strong, and I love that. This week was no different. Between the segments and the match, it was another great representation of Graves.

Huge thanks to everyone involved awesome show as always!

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. Burn – I was slightly critical of Destructo a few weeks ago, feeling that - despite his transition from boy to man - he was still exhibiting reckless, almost childish behaviour that was leading to his downfall. Here, however, he showed signs of a more rational, adult mindset. Instead of charging into a confrontation with the Brotherhood fists first, he deescalated the situation and issued a clear warning to Ezekiel Graves and his crew. Credit to the writer for the line about having a light worth shining in them too. Very Attitude Era Rock-like and amusing.
  2. The Weight of a Smile – What is going on with Sunshine lately? For the second week in a row, he appeared as a shadow of his former self. Something about his demeanour has shifted recently; he’s displaying symptoms of compassion, humility, and understanding. Is this just an act? Does his vindictive side still lurk beneath the surface? His smile here felt genuine, but it leaves room for doubt. Good segment and portrayal of character all round here.
  3. Felix, This is Why – Well, well, well - this took an angle I hadn’t really considered before. Given Doom’s history of questionable actions, I assumed his treatment of Foley since Red Snow was purely out of spite. Here, however, he added a layer of rationale to his behaviour. This is war, after all, and in war, you prioritise your strongest weapons whilst leaving the rest at home. That’s how he seemingly justifies his actions toward Felix. Whether I buy into his reasoning at this point is another matter, but at the very least, he has made an effort to frame it... logically, I guess?

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Why has Red suddenly changed his stance on helping Mighty Mighty?
  • Who is the leader the Watchers?
  • Is Hounds of Hades this our answer to Survivor Series? All feels very 2001, with a winner takes all-style match - and I’m here for it.

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Had a crazy week at work, and was away over the weekend, so didn't get a chance to read anything this time out... Apologies everyone.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Nero stayed true to his word, stepping up to help Wolf Fang Ayame take on the threat of Anton Savor and Eclipse this week. I really enjoyed how Nero and Ayame set traps for their opponents, turning the tables and making the hunters the hunted. So far, we know Nero’s alliance with Wolf Fang is a strategic move to secure her help in the upcoming Invasion match - but could there be more to this partnership? A Hound and a Wolf make for a natural duo, so who knows… maybe this alliance will prove to extend beyond just this storyline.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Face to Face. I enjoy these big segments that remind us of the attitude era. A cold open in the ring with Jackson Cade and the crowd, which turns into a huge main event at the hands of Sterling. Big attitude era vibes.
  2.  Doom, Why & Felix, this is why. I'll explain below.
  3. Protest. I love how all these characters are connecting ahead of Invasion. Graves, Way and Hatchet coming together at the Circus is a great way to build tension before their huge match.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Who will be the six competitors in War Games?
  • What does Doom want with Momma Foley? What's Felix gonna have to do?
  • Who is the leader of The Watchers?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

I didn't get to read anything this week, unfortunately.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Is it terrible if I admit that a small part of me was hoping Momma Foley had been killed? In hindsight, it definitely isn't the right time for that kind of move but I thought it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world after last week. Doom has stepped this up against Foley and this week we learned that she's alive, for now. That's gonna really set Foley off on a path to get her back and that should be so much fun to witness.

Lots of fun, lots of cool direction and a big match next week for me and Frank. I can't wait!

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Mister Sunshine's smile. I love a complex character, and seeing Charlie have to look back at himself and who he is to others was an important moment. The fact that Captain Arcadia brought the kids there really made it better.
  2. The brawl in the Circus was really fun. Every character involved really was pushed out to look as they should. Even if all three of them are bastard cult leader types, they all have different ways of doing it. Great work to show that separation.
  3. Hounds of Hades! Great way to announce the War Games match and really get everyone's minds going about who is going to be picked to represent the two sides.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

Can Mighty get out of his contract?

Not a question, but the interplay between Nero, Eclipse, Savor, and Ayame was really fun this week.

Is Destructo walking into a bad situation blindly, or does he have a plan?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Good versus Evil for me. Great promo that captured the tone of the story for Felix, and tied it to Redgrave perfectly. I love that beat down babyface makes a point as he gears himself up promo.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

"I need my chance at happiness." I totally read that in Matt's voice, tbh.

I think that having happiness (however that comes about) be the hook is perfect for Drewitt and Grimskull, two tortured characters who shouldn't even be alive by all means. It also makes sense that the two more fortunate (relatively speaking) characters in Gem and EMM would maybe see things differently.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. Face to Face: The Cold opener between Jackson Cade and Jasper Redgrave's (and Felix Foley) gives out an indication of what's the tone of tonight's main event and the eventual Cade vs Redgrave.
  2. Hounds of Hades: WAR GAMES! And how Zeus is practically forcing everyone to pick a side now
  3. Do we have a deal?: Personally, with what is going on with Red IRL situation, I'm going to watch how everything will unfold cause as of now Red is going to find a loophole to the contract.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  1. How will the wrestlers' decisions in choosing sides affect the upcoming Invasion Match?
  2. Who will be chosen for War Games?
  3. How will the former tag champs take their loss?
  4. What's next for Felix and what can he do to save Momma Foley?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

My favorite promo this week is GAS by nero. It got me hooked

HAVE YOUR SAY:

As I say on the third point of top 3 moments, I'm awaiting on what's going to happen to Red since he is now practically gone from OSW.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:
The Weight of a Smile - I absolutely love anything Mister Sunshine at the moment. I can't wait to learn just what lies beneath that smile.
Doom, Why/Felix, this is why - This is another storyline that I absolutely love. The story of Felix Foley doesn't get any easier from here, but I think perhaps he can dig deep and prevail.
Face to Face - I'll explain this one below.

BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Who fills out War Games?
- What made Red change his mind?
- Who's leading The Watchers?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Good versus Evil. Another fire promo from Felix this week. Man's is red hot.

HAVE YOUR SAY:
It's no secret that I've really found these old school segments a great amount of nostalgia. Classic segments like Face to Face put the old school in OSW and I love them so much. This one was a classic, no fighting before the Invasion main event. Another classic that may have been used a few times but works every time.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

(Three moments of the show that stood out to you and why.)

  1. ... The Weight of a Smile: I don't usually choose the segments involving my own characters for the top three moments, but this segment hit damned hard. To link in the gravitas of the war itself, the toll it has taken on Arcadia - we see the impact of that on the regular people here, and the fact that this breaks Sunshine's heart is great. There's something going on with him that I haven't nailed down yet, but there's humanity behind the smile... at least here there is. This is bloody beautiful character work.
  2. ... Felix, This is Why: I can't get beyond the yellow eyes. It seems something so bloody simple, but building in the description of the yellow eyes standing out in the sea of drones was chilling - building in the physical description of the posers. It helps me picture Doom's voice in a way I haven't before, and the fact that we see it all the coward's way - shown on the screen where you have the power and control, that's perfect.
  3. ... No Mercy: Just simply this... Even the formatting bringing it to life, just so impactful!

Felix exhales, nodding once. His mind is elsewhere as he turns to leave.

Then Olympus shakes.

A high-pitched whine rips through the air, a dreadful mechanical hum that sends a cold shock through the audience. The rafters of Olympus began as pitch black.

But little red dots begin to appear.

And then Doom.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

(What questions has the show left you with?)

  • War games will be fun. Who is getting the nod?
  • Who leads the Watchers?
  • Will we see Red help Mighty Mighty out of the contract, or will this fail spectacularly?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

(Which promo was your favourite of the week?)

SUIT OR SWEATER by Narcissa: The intricacies of our life that create our best assets are a mere disguise of our most inherent flaws... That's one hell of an opening line. Loved that, a great concept. I loved the unpacking of it too, the way she brought it all around to the flaws she sees in Ajax, and then the kicker, that she brings the idea of a strong mind into the equation - if your mind is as strong as your body. For Ajax, who is all about strength, this would be such a frustration, when she can prove that there's weakness in him. Nice writing!

HAVE YOUR SAY:

(How did you like your characters portrayal and what are your thoughts on your current storyline? What, if any, improvements could be made?)

SUNSHINE - I probably mentioned enough above. Loving it!
