Warzone #383

Quote from Nero on 21 April 2025, 14:29TOP THREE MOMENTS:
- Run: I had fully expected some fallout after the Reaper’s big revelation last week, and sure enough the ripple effect started making waves almost immediately as the night got underway. Gravedigger frantically packing his bags right out of the gate set a perfect tone of urgency and panic, and the moment he confronted his withering mentor revealing that Tombstone now knows Mortis is the key to The Ferryman reclaiming what’s rightfully his, was a beautifully written piece of character interplay. The dialogue between the two, especially those final few lines, was absolutely top-tier. It carried a fantastic Frankenstein-and-the-Monster dynamic, with Gravedigger’s panic and resolve escalating into that classic “get to safety before the creature catches up” tension. The whole segment was sharp, atmospheric, and layered — loved every second of it.
- Run To The Hills: This was a genuine curveball and a segment that really got the wheels turning. Initially, I was fully convinced Drewitt was throwing his lot in with Gemini, prioritising her safety over his allegiances to Grimskull and the Preservationists. His decision to effectively double-cross his own crew to give Gemini an escape route seemed pretty cut and dry, but then later in the night we got that brilliant follow-up with Gemini stumbling into EMM and the Seekers in the Groves, only for the Preservationists to show up hot on her heels. Suddenly the question became was it pure coincidence, or did Drewitt intentionally let her go, knowing full well she’d lead him straight to them? Either way — a cracking bit of storytelling that’s left me hooked.
- Sermon In The Ring II: I can’t overstate how hard I popped for the ending of this week’s show. Ever since Jackson Cade was blindsided by Zeke and his gang earlier in the night, I had a sneaking suspicion the World Champ wasn’t going to let that slide. The way it played out, though, felt like a masterfully laid trap, drawing Cade back to the ring with Graves lying in wait — ready to spring a further ambush. Just when it looked like the writing was on the wall, Nero’s entrance flipped the whole thing on its head. Watching him take out Ezekiel and then offer his hand to Jacky Boy after that charged stare-down? Absolute goosebumps. Hands down one of the coolest moments one of my characters has been a part of in a long time.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- How was the Night exact his revenge on Narcissa?
- Where will Gravedigger and Igor Mortis seek refuge from Tombstone?
- What are Drewitt really playing at? Is he helping Gemini, or leading her into a trap?
- What will Nero's role now he's thrown his lot in with the Seekers?
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Afraid of the Dark/Mr Sunshine: I thought Hayden showed some real creative depth this week, especially with the fear metaphor. I liked how he used fear as a natural, biological response to explain his opponents’ actions, turning a simple emotion into something personal and real for each of them.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
To add to what I’ve already mentioned in my Top 3 standout moments this week, I’m absolutely loving the direction the Red Reboot is taking right now and the way he’s been written these past couple of weeks. Honestly, I feel like I'm having the most fun I’ve had with a character since Rain, and it feels like Nero's presence and actions are growing more important with each passing show. I especially enjoyed the moment with Cade this week as already mentioned. Given their shared APD background, I can easily see them having more history than we’ve guessed so far — perhaps even explaining last week’s hand slap. To whoever's writing this stuff, just keep the shit coming. I’m all in.

Quote from Harold Attano on 23 April 2025, 03:49TOP THREE MOMENTS:
- Run – I loved the panicked nature of this whole segment. It started out frantic with Gravedigger packing his bags and graduated to “shitting your pants” level panic when Mortis realizes Tombstone knows that he controls the Chains. I cannot wait to find out what happens when Tombstone finds these men.
- The throughline of The World Championship – I loved all the work setting the table for the World Championship match for Pandemonium. Graves telling Redgrave to keep his distance and them sharing their intentions. Zeke essentially burying Cade under the Championship with his first sermon. Then Nero saving Cade from Grave’s final Sermon as it looked like Ezekiel soften Jackson up even further in preparation for his World Championship match. This couldn’t have told the story or set the table better for this week’s Championship match.
- You Should’ve Lied – Just the way it ended with the Elder of the Temple sitting before Eclipse attempting to give her information. Only for the response, “You Should’ve Lied” before she snapped his neck. I did a double take on that it was swift and without mercy, just fucking brutal.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Why didn’t Gravedigger look to protect Eclipse from the incoming Tombstone? Is he just going to ditch his wife and go to ground?
Is Drewitt a turncoat or is he playing a long con that even Grimskull isn’t aware of?
What is left of the Temple?
Will Igor Mortis ever truly be safe?
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Normally I am trying to get as much knowledge as I can, but I missed out this week on my normal reading.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Harold: I loved this promo and the symbolism of Harold just being an old Salty motherfucker and him literally over salting Savor’s soup. This whole thing is building so well. I have loved this feud with Savor; it has been a great reintroduction for Harold after spending a month off the grid.
Nox: Just damn, Nox was a force throughout the night. From Smoke in the Bones right down to you should’ve lied Nox’s menace ran through the show from Drewitt telling Gemini they needed to run. To him helping intimidate the Temple Elder. I must say I really love how well Nox is written as a villain.

Quote from El Mariachi Muerte on 23 April 2025, 04:47TOP THREE MOMENTS:
- SERMON IN THE RING - I love that this was split over two segments, it made it really interesting. The passing of time between brought the drama. I'd say that my favourite moment was Nero's choice and the handshake, but I'm a sucker for some punchy religious lines being used to get a fanatic over. Graves really hit that sermon hard, the lines were well chosen!
2. RUN TO THE HILLS - That little moment, the meeting of Drewitt and Gemini was very interesting. The decision he made has been playing on him, more importantly, that Gemini has been on his mind. He's more loyal to her that the Preservationists... What's interesting here is that I believe it's a loyalty or liking of Gemini rather than a disloyalty to the Preservationists happening (I could be wrong). Either way, the turmoil in Drewitt is interesting.
3. RUN - I love the feeling of the segment here. The panic in Gravedigger, that then spreads to Igor Mortis when the penny drops. Mainly because these two are characters that are usually so stoic and tough, so it shows a lot of fear to make them respond like that. Really puts Tombstone over - he's coming, and Igor should be terrified.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Now that the temple has fallen, what does that mean for Caido and Ayame? Is there some kind of power within that temple that will give a retaliation opportunity?
- What is with Drewitt? Is he switching sides? What about Nero... He wouldn't be the first to choose a side then flip-flop. Simply... Who is going to betray their team? You know it's gonna happen
- Is there anywhere Igor can go to be safe from Tombstone? Where does Gravedigger think he can go?
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Empty Bowls
I love the voice of Grimskull. The simple picture that then gets unpacked so expertly. Threads pulled till there is nothing. The package of the promo is great, but I think without the voice it is captured in it would lack something. Even down to the formatting on the page, you can really hear the prose, the spoken gruffness of Grimskull's voice. If Laner would ever pick a character to do an audio promo of, I'd hope it's him (as much as I'd like to see him try to pull off an early Gemini the Good twin kinda voice). This is a great example of why, something about it becomes a promo I can hear.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
SUNSHINE
There was a lot to unpack in Fractures and Steel. I love the address from Foley almost as much as knocking the guy unconscious with a steel chair. There's emotion happening here, battle lines being drawn and we know war doesn't change, so its always going to have collateral damage. Sunshine is not usually the kind of guy to take a steel chair to somebody, so I believe that has more Klaus Way written on it than Sunshine - he's just helping out a buddy!
EMM
Back baby! Love the description of Muerte moving through the corridor, bruised but a man who doesn't have time for pain. I also love the panic of the scene, the gas... Chemical X. The Temple has fallen. It really drives the drama heading into Pandemonium! Also, don't you just love how happy and excited EMM is to see Gemini, just makes the heart melt right?

Quote from Reverend Ezekiel Graves on 23 April 2025, 05:04TOP THREE MOMENTS:
1. Run: What a rivalry these two have built. This storyline has always delivered. The visual of Igor Mortis lying in bed, hooked up to tubes and monitors, was so vivid I could picture it perfectly really well written.
2. Fractures & Steel: Such a great moment between wildly different characters. Hatchet always steals the scene when he gets the chance to speak—his raw delivery, especially when he drops a “fuckin’,” just hits. I genuinely thought the group’s in-fighting was going to explode… until BAM—steel chair shots. Loved how it all flipped. Great segment
3. Sermon in the Ring II: What an intense way to close out the show. Nero stepping in and showing his allegiance to Cade and the Seekers gave me chills. It had that classic “go-home show before the PPV” vibe—full of urgency and chaos. I’m truly grateful Graves got to be part of the final moment before Pandemonium.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Will Nero turn on Cade and help Graves win the title? (Hey, a guy can dream!)
Did Night throw those bombs?
Will Tombstone become the Ferryman again?
Will Ares make an impact at Pandemonium?
Will Zeus show up at Pandemonium?
FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Afraid of the Dark: This promo broke down fear in a unique, compelling way. Each character’s relationship to it was crystal clear, and it made Sunshine feel strong in his own twisted, unsettling way. Really creative stuff.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
This was an amazing go-home show to Pandemonium what a wild ride from start to finish.
Honestly, I feel spoiled lately. The storylines Graves has been a part of have been nothing short of incredible. I never imagined I’d get a spot like this in OSW. If I could go back in time, I’d tell past me to join sooner—this has been everything I wanted from an e-fed and more.
Weirdly, I’m nervous—but in a good way. I’ve got those butterflies I haven’t felt since I first started fedding. Red Snow gave me the feels, but this? This is next level. My first ever OSW World Championship match… maybe my last, who knows? But no matter what happens, I’ll never forget this feud and build. Dawson, I hope we tear the roof off Pandemonium. It’s an honor going up against someone as talented as you.
Let’s make it unforgettable.

Quote from Drewitt on 24 April 2025, 09:19TOP THREE MOMENTS:
- 'Run' did a really good job of hyping up this feud - the urgency in Gravedigger's actions shows just how afraid he is of what Tombstone could do. This is a man that is putting all his eggs in a Mortis shaped basket, and Tombstone wants to smash the eggs.
- Damn Eclipse really is heartless, snapping the neck of an elder for telling her what she wanted to know in "You Should've Lied". I don't like to compare characters too often but I got a real heel Pyre vibe from Eclipse this week, and it's a good vibe for her!
- Nero has joined the seekers! This could be very interesting. We've already seen how disruptive the hacker can be - what is next on his hitlist?
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- What will the events of "You Did What?" lead to? It seems that as well as the Seekers apparently having a rat, that the Preservationists are heading for a civil war if they're not careful, what with Ezekiel and Redgrave in this seg and Klaus and Sunshine's chat about Savor recently.
- How can Muerte talk again already?
- Who will turn on their team first?
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
I really liked the theme in "Popsicle Stick" this week.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
DREWITT
I'm starting to question Drewitt's intentions now. In previous weeks he has clearly helped Gemini for no gain of his own. This week however he helped Gemini again in "Run To The Hills" - only for the Preservationists to arrive to find all of the Seekers in one place. Did Drewitt know the attack would be called off if Gemini was there to boost the numbers? Grimskull watching it all unfold is very ominous though.
KLAUS
I like how Klaus and Sunshine took advantage of the Seekers' squabbling to get one over on them with the help of a couple of steel chairs. Feels just the right amount of backhandedness.

Quote from The Night on 25 April 2025, 05:12TOP THREE MOMENTS:
1. Run will go here. Tombstone is a man on a mission, and with his mission now defined, Gravedigger and Igor are gonna be running scared. I love the pin drop moment in the middle of the promo, when Mortis finds out that Tombstone knows about his position like Gravedigger does. Really cemented its place in the top three moments when he realizes just how fucked he is and how he helped create the monster that the former Ezra is today. Great set up seg for Round 3 of Gravedigger vs. Tombstone.
2. Sermon in the Ring 1 and 2 will be placed here. It started out looking like Graves was going to get one over on Jackson once again. And for a while, I thought for sure that the show would end on the same note as the last one, with Graves standing tall over a downed Cade. But then the second segment happened and Nero made his grand appearance to save Cade from a complete beatdown. That, and we get to see him help the former Eagle up to his feet, nonverbally joining the Seekers! Great pair of segs.
3. Fractures and Steel will take the final placement. Things are getting tense with the Seekers, I see. It was only a matter of time before the infighting between these four would start, and they picked the absolute worst time and place to start shit. I loved seeing Klaus and Sunshine capitalize on their anger and clobber them with chairs. Foreshadowing of things to come? Maybe. Will it lead to a turn? Also maybe. I'm excited to find out come Pandemonium though, that's for sure!
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Where will Gravedigger hide Igor Mortis? Can he even be hidden from Tombstone without being constantly on the move? Is it even possible to keep him moving due to his legs not being able to work? Buzzing with questions that I hope will be answered soon!
Will the in fighting between the Seekers and Preservationists be too much and cause them to join the other side? Tensions are brewing quite highly between them, and the last thing each of them need is a war within a war.
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Jackson Cade's Collar and Leash takes it for me. I like how Cade sets up the dogs as ferocious killing machines, only to be rendered fearful with a tug of the leash from the animal handler. He related it to the relationship between Drewitt and Ares very well, what with the Pilgrim being the dog that's afraid of disobeying the handler and Ares being the man with all the power over the K9 Unit. It was a great read that I might've been a little inspired by when I wrote my Pandemonium piece for Calypso, not gonna lie.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
Calypso: Not mentioned or present for this show either.
Night: Peter just barely escaped the Killing Floor with his life. I think he's the only person to do so during an active killing session too, if I'm not mistaken. Kind of wish the match writer and the writer of the seg got together to talk about Night's dislocated hand being used in the match later on in the show. Would've been cool to see how he would've coped with that while fighting three Preservationists. Ah well, it was still a pleasant surprise to see the Enigma run out of the Killing Floor regardless.

1. Run, I was curious what would happen after Tombstone and Gravedigger met Reaper and he revealed how much control Igor has. Igor is now rightfully terrified while he's in a hospital bed. Will Gravedigger help Igor or will he betray him to help Tombstone. I'm real intrigued about how this will fall out.
2. You did what? One invitation to Nero made Graves uneasy and scared. Is this Redgrave really trying to give the preservationists a weapon or is he just trying to upset Reverend Graves bc he still thinks that championship belongs to him.
3. Salty, this was a fun cheeky way to make a match I'm sold on for multiple reasons happen. Hell's kitchen sounds like a match where so many things could happen. Match writer, make this crazy please.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
Will Nero be involved in the world title match at Pandemonium?
Who's the most broken person in Arcadia?
Who will win Pandemonium?
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
I wasn't able to get to them this week. Been reading the Pandemonium ones before they get buried.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
The Night got some good retribution on Narcy with being able to break and deliver a good haymaker before he ran off. Narcy being overconfident catches her again. Will she be able to get the night when they face each other again?

- Run. Very interesting to see the self-assuredness of Igor drop stone dead as he realises how overwhelmingly fucked he is, with Tombstone coming for both him and the chains he considers his. Even Gravedigger is of the mind they should run rather than fight, which is both quite the turnaround and makes Tombstone look like an utterly unstoppable fucking juggernaught... Which is true. Can't wait to see how this develops.
2. Run To The Hills. While it could be just loyalty to Gemini given their shared history rather than outright disloyalty to the Preservationists, I believe Drewitt is full-on turncoat, and now Grimskull has witnessed his treachery first-hand. Cracks appear to be forming everywhere in the Preservationists, and none more dramatically thus far than with this particular pairing. I would be stunned if nothing happens at Pandemonium as a follow up to this.
3. Fractures & Steel. Destructo may continue to be an insufferable little shit, but this time he's an insufferable little shit with a very good point - they've all been 'broken' or damaged somewhat by the Preservationists, especially Nox, but they're gonna get even more broken if they can't collectively pull together, as demonstrated very well by Klaus and Sunshine. The Seekers have been left with a bloody nose and a bruised ego, and their response will be most interesting. Destructo and Hatchet in particular are unlikely to take that laying down.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- What was Nero's ultimate motivation in siding with The Seekers over The Preservationists? He certainly seems a better fit for them, but his initial hesitation has me more curious than I would otherwise be.
- Not a question, but digging the Iron Maiden reference in the segment titles.
- Will Attano's lil Sodium stunt have any lasting impact on Savor's business, and what condition are the two gonna be in for the Hell's kitchen match? No way are they both fully recovered.
- How did Destructo resist the urge to leave Nox on his own in their match, or to just beta him shitless himself?
MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Sorry, still not been doing the appropriate amount of reading.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
I've mentioned in the past few now that I view Eclipse's segments and stories as being about The Preservationists rather than her, and I meant it, but I must admit it feels good to see her get a bit more shine and display a lil more personality this week. I believe that is her first non-wolf kill, and she seemed like a sadistic menace. I'm totally here for it.

Quote from Jasper Redgrave on 25 April 2025, 12:48TOP THREE MOMENTS:
1. Run - I loved the imagery painted here. I loved the hastiness of Gravedigger to pack shit up and try to head out of there. Tombstone is indeed coming and I have a feeling that Igor will indeed pay for "creating him."
2. Sermon in The Ring - FIREWALL! If you're a fan, this is the moment you explode! Follow that up with the intense stare down between Nero and Cade before they shake hands and you get a damn fine moment.
3. You Did What? - A bit of a different pick here, but I really enjoyed this segment and the interaction between Graves and Redgrave after Jasper invited The Red Reboot to join The Preservationist's Camp. Of course Zeke would be angry, and of course Jasper wouldn't care. I also liked how Jasper pretty much gave the nod to not interfering in the World title match, but promised he would be there to pick up the pieces.
BURNING QUESTIONS:
- Will Tombstone find Gravedigger and Igor before they can get too far?
- If anyone, who changes their allegiances?MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:
Afraid of the Dark - Very strong metaphor. Very creative. Very hard hitting.
HAVE YOUR SAY:
I always felt like Nero would choose The Seekers, but it was logical for Redgrave to see his value and extend the invitation last week. What does Jasper have in store come Pandemonium? Will he indeed be there to pick up the pieces should Graves walk away victorious over Cade? Can't wait to see what unfolds.
