BURNING QUESTIONS:

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

HAVE YOUR SAY:

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

1. The Search for Tombstone: I honestly love segments that run throughout the entire show. The buildup was tight, and the payoff at the end was worth it. No fed I’ve ever been in could pull off this kind of layered storytelling, but here in OSW, everything connects so smoothly.

2. Martyr: I’m a huge fan of the creative team implementing Bible verses into Graves’ dialogue. It adds a powerful layer to his character and being able to interact with Foley/Scissors is such a cool dynamic—these scenes feel massive. Thank you for always writing Graves with such care and respect. It truly means a lot that you all consistently bring him across the way he’s meant to be in my eyes.

3. Seekers vs. Preservationists: What a badass way to send us into the PPV. The brawl was written perfectly, and every competitor got a moment to shine. I’ll admit I was a little bummed Tombstone joined the Seekers (selfishly haha), but damn, these teams are stacked, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

• What team will work best at Hounds of Hades?

• Who wins: Sunshine Club or The Freaks?

• Who was the figure in the shadows talking to Tombstone?

• Will Destructo and Ayame need more than one match to settle their differences?

FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Solid Foundation: This one really stood out. The house metaphor was woven in perfectly, and the tone was sharp yet composed. It didn’t try too hard—just delivered a clear, compelling message. Simple, effective, and well written.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

The week off came at the perfect time for me. Between a new job and being sick, I lost track of what day it was—but now I feel refreshed and ready to dive back in. I’m so hyped with what’s going on with Graves. There are so many badass storylines overlapping, and I’ve never felt this involved or connected in a fed before.

Hounds of Hades is going to be something special I can feel it.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. Martyr – I love this, it’s almost like Foley is fighting with Scissor internally to stay in control.  Literally, telling Graves “But remember this—I’m in control tonight. Not Scissors.”  He turns his back.  “Let’s hope I’m still the one in control… next time.”  Illustrating that he may be hanging on by a thread.  I cannot wait to see what happens when/if he snaps in the moment and we see what Foley looks like without the mask.
  2. War – I loved the planned session here and the atmosphere it sets with the sound of Zeus’s life support in the background. Almost as if to say the Preservationists themselves as a group are on life support themselves with this match hanging in the balance.  I feel that was underlined by Hatchet basically saying he’d step aside for Tombstone so that Graves and Foley can beat the shit out of each other.  Showing that he doesn’t really give a shit about the war in the long run it’s about elevating himself.
  3.  Seekers and Preservationists – The Perfect way to set up for a big event like a War Games match.  A giant shmoze where Tombstone finally makes his choice, and we get that badass stare down between both teams.  It’s an Attitude Era beat used to perfect effect for a big team match.  The perfect setup and I cannot wait to see this explode.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

What will it look like when Felix Foley loses his internal war.

What is going to happen to the Seekers with the Trust issues between Drewitt & EMM and Night & Attano?

Who wins between the Sunshine Club and The Circus (loved having Ajax get physical).

Were we outside of Arcadia this week?  Or did “No One to Blame But Him” just take place in the groves? The only reason I ask this is because of this one line, “The air is still but the ground stinks of accelerant. A wide, soaked field just outside Arcadia. Wind presses through the tall grass.”

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Lock Box – Great piece of work for Dawson here.  I like the idea of perception of a hero being useless against Hatchet.  Like a lockbox to a determined thief, like Hatchet.  Great work Daws.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Nox – His presence felt here being name checked in Martyr to help add emphasis to the struggle Foley is having internally.  That got a pop out of me.

Harold – What was Harold up to this week?  The Night through down the gauntlet for both of them.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. Having Foley talk about who is in control - himself or Scissors - in Martyr is a really fun little segment. There are so many ways this could go. A Jekyll and Hyde kind of deal, an Incredible Hulk kind of battle, or maybe a situation where they eventually figure out that different personas are good for different things, like Moon Knight. Imagine how powerful a Foley/Scissors combo working together to take control when it makes most sense for the situation would be!!
  2. War was a nice segment - it showed the strategy the preservationists are employing, how deliberate their choices are. But it also showed the rumblings of a disconnect between Ares and Narcissa. I foresee that being a problem somewhere down the line.
  3. That last segment was a barnstormer. Another of those TV style kitchen sink encounters to set up a group feud. We always love them here, and the imagery of Tombstone in the middle ready to pick his side was a powerful one.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • How did the Preservationists get the video of the Seeker meeting? Nero as an inside man already?
  • Just how did Cap Arcadia sink so low as to obliterate Chavito for no reason?
  • Speaking of which - Eclipse is so EVIL. How did we get here? Is there possibility of redemption for burning a widow at the stake?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

I liked all of the imagery in Syntax Error a lot, Lane did a great job and deserved the #1 spot.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

KLAUS

Sunshine and his Club turn up to try and put the frighteners on the circus, but they're having none of it. They have been back and forth a lot over the past couple of weeks and there is clearly no love lost. Looking forward to the big blow off.

DREWITT

I love the play on trust in Broken. The sort of double pivot of Muerte's actions to start to hope that Drewitt will trust him again someday are the exact actions that broke the trust with Night. It's an interesting set of relationships to balance.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. THE SEARCH FOR TIMBSTONE III - This is how you write a lead up folks. The preceding segments really set a tone, then you set up this moment.

The market square bustles with life—traders shouting, neon lights blinking over rusted stalls. No one notices the figure in black weaving through like a shadow.

Tombstone.

One word, on a line by itself... Tombstone. It's chilling enough with everything that has transpired to get there that it's a moment within itself. Loved this trio of segments.

2. THE DOG BITES BACK - Loved seeing Ayame take a shot from Destructo, but wear it and then go to freaking town on the kid. Great moment in their feud!

3. MARTYR - This line - “You think I want this?” He says, voice hollow. “You think I wanted him?”

The turmoil within Foley is intense, and it's interesting to see that at least on some level, Foley can take control. How much control he has over himself at any given time, that's the million dollar question.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Will Foley ever be able to rid himself of Scissors again? Or will Scissors rid himself of Foley?
  • Seekers or Preservationists, who is going to weather the war best?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

LOCKBOX

I really liked this. The analogy was actually unpacked really well. Anything can be opened with a big enough hammer essentially. ... and Hatchet is all fucking force. I't s a simple concept, but unpacked in a really clever depiction that accounts for some brilliant writing.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

EMM

I love the ins and outs of this feud. To see things come full circle, the effort that EMM has gone through to prove himself, his remorse and making up for the choices he made. That's bloody heartwarming, and to see Drewitt's heart be turned by Muerte coming to stand by his side again and again even when his buddies are going against him now, that's big stuff. Where this leaves the war, who knows?!

SUNSHINE

Oh man, this has been an awesome ride. Can't wait for the showdown now! Sunshine has been very, very well written this month! That balance of kind with an undertone of something else has been brilliant. Love the lollipop analogy that has gone through the writing too, well done.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

1. i thought martyr was a really cool segment. just the internal battles that it appears felix is going through as he handles switching on/off between himself and scissors. the final line was especially killer to me, about him hoping hes still the one in control next time.

2. the end to the show was a banger as usual. who doesnt love a good brawl between sides who absolutely hate each other? it made it even more intense with tombstone’s looming. but this segment definitely did its job with getting me even more invested in this war games match, more than i already was.

3. not to pick my own segments, but i just think its particularly interesting how antons been playing at captain arcadia’s emotions, trying to portray him as this not good guy and i guess a self serving hero. and to see him finally snap this week was something. so i wonder how he’ll respond after that.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

will it be the seekers or preservationists to win this upcoming battle?

will felix ever get a proper handle on this scissors thing?

is destructo beyond saving at this point?

will there by any crazy allegiance switching at hounds of hades?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

been having a rough go, havent been able to read any, i apologize.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

like i kinda touched on earlier, i do think its been very interesting to see how antons been trying to portray capt arcadia to the masses. and maybe after what he did to chavito, the narrative might be actually slowly shifting. ive been enjoying the portrayal of anton lately here tho. everythings been on point so far and i cant wait to see what comes next between these two.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. Broken. I love these segs where everyone's motivations make perfect sense. The Night (and Attano) are militant about this whole war, which makes sense for their backgrounds, etc. EMM is not. His goal is singular. Open the door, by any means necessary. Even working with a guy no one else trusts in Drewtt. And Drewitt is a man without an ally when someone really needs allies. It all makes perfect sense.
  2. No One To Blame But Him. Man, Eclipse is just vile isn't she? This feud here is escalating, and one has to wonder what Caido feels with all this, and how that will motivate him going forward.
  3. You Can't Make an Omelette. Savor just completely roasted and obliterated Captain Arcadia here. Without lifting a finger to fight himself. Are we going to see Cap join under Anton Savor?

BURNING QUESTIONS:

Who will be weirder? The Freaks or the Sunshine Club?

What did Zeus want to end the war?

Will Destructo ever get the therapy he so desperately needs?

MY FAVORITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

I wasn't able to read anything last week. Luckily, I'm finishing up my teaching for the semester so I can be more around. Apologies to everyone.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Gem didn't appear much on this show outside of her match and group segs. Glad to see her chugging along as a voice in the Seeker camp.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. The Whole moment where captain arcadia absolutely destroyed Chavito. It has shown how much savor has gotten to him. How desperate the situation is to the point where. The guy has just snapped and maybe has gone too far. A really powerful moment that is putting Arcadia in a really interesting crossroads.

2. Seekers and preservationists was the perfect "Final shot" before hounds of hades. It was the shot that you needed to draw the battle lines and would be the final video package shot. It also set up people's alliances temporary or not. It was a storybeat that was absolutely needed for the match.

3. Martyr is a very interesting set up for the conflict that comes with the wild card that is scissors. Where it's something that not even felix foley can control. And it's become more unpredictable and ruthless.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

Has Arcadia gone too far?

Is destructo beyond saving?

What caused scissors to become more active?

Will there be any betrayals at hounds of hades?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Syntax Error was a very fun promo, I think the wordplay tied into the message that was trying to get across very well.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Didn't expect ayame and destructo to come to blows that quickly. But I'm very happy with how this has been going on. It's to be expected so we'll see how this shakes out at hounds because it feels like something big will happen.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. Top segment of the night, hands down is Seekers vs Preservationists. I just love the kind of 'everyone is here' segments that come from multi-man matches like this. It was brilliantly high octane, and capping it off with the reveal of Tombstone choosing the side of the Seekers while giving us a classic visual of everyone standing across the ring from one another. Favorite of the night.
  2. You Can't Make an Omelette nabs this spot. Firstly, I just liked seeing Cap pulverize Chavito. Excellent use of writing off the new guy while utilizing him to  put a character over. But beyond that, I just liked the dialogue here. The interaction between Cap and Savor was really nicely written so I think this segment deserves some praise.
  3. The Search for Tombstone, II specifically, and it's a selfish reason but I loved the way this scene was set up. It felt both very horror movie by virtue of being in the metalworks, but also fit the vibe of an action movie through and through. It was fun to see Cade in that situation dealing with Gravedigger, who I'm just really a mark for as a character.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Has Cap lost it?
  • Is Scissors going to take over Foley?
  • Can Destructo be redeemed?
  • Who's coming out on top at Hounds?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

I really gotta give it to Laner. I think Syntax Error was an absolutely phenomenal piece. I would honestly call it poetic in how it's written, from the set up to the word choice. This is a piece to come back to for me.

HAVE YOUR SAY:

Jackson Cade: We got Tombstone boys! And also, as said above, Cade got to get into a great altercation with Gravedigger. I wonder how everything is going to play out come Hounds of Hades? Excited to see what comes from the road to Ring of Dreams.

Hatchet: I think Hatchet is really shining in this storyline. I like how conniving he is with stepping aside if Tombstone joined the Preservationists. He's so self serving and I just love how it's coming through. Fantastic job.

TOP THREE MOMENTS:

  1. War took it for me, surprsingly enough. There were seeds of both cooperation and some dissenion in equal marks, a shady plan to bring a true war to the whole of Olympus, and more. It was the one that just kept bringing me back, like a mystery I couldn't solve.

2. No One to Blame but You takes a spot for just how brutal Eclipse is being during all this. Like burning an old woman alive because she spat at you for killing her husband is such a dastardly move, and the moments of El Caido feeling her death were just a wonderful moment during the show. Really made Eclipse more of a menace that she already was.

3. Seekers and Preservationists was a fantastic finale, the buildup and answer to the question haunting us all: will Tombstone choose a side? And the clash was just the beginning of a long and dangerous road we're on, but this piece is just the piece de resistance this time around.

BURNING QUESTIONS:

  • Will the teams stay cohesive, or will they fall apart for Hounds of Hades?
  • Whose going to win that freak off?
  • Will we see Foley or Scissors for Hounds?
  • How fierce will El Dragon's revenge for the lady be?

MY FAVOURITE PROMO OF THE WEEK:

Lockbox took it for me, there was a good punchiness to it that really hooked me into the whole piece.

HAVE YOUR SAY: Oh my poor lad, you tried your best and look what happened. Your undirected rage probably cost Chavito his life, and your attempts at heroism are starting to fall flat on your face. Fantastic segment this time around lads, can't wait to see how it plays out coming into Hounds!
