Indifference

DOOMPromo, Stubbins Doom

[Doom stands inside a darkened room, with a wooden chair before him. There’s something in his hands. He’s fiddling with it.]

“I’m not sorry.”

[He shakes his head.]

“I’m not not sorry.”

[He shrugs.]

“I’m indifferent. Indifference is a dangerous place to be. Any man that can undertake an action with a shrug of his shoulders is someone to be feared. My father used to say that, Felix. He used to tell me that it is what it is.”

[Doom stops fiddling momentarily.]

“Any man who lives by the motto it is what it is, can live through any tension, any consequence and not only survive, but thrive. I turned on you, Dearest Felix. That must’ve hurt. But you do know something?

It is what it is.

And if only you saw it that way, just imagine how indifferent you’d feel. Just imagine how little pain you’d suffer.”

[He continues his fiddling.]

“I would bet a handsome sum of credits that Jasper Redgrave feels ire. How angry must he be, knowing that Klaus Way turned down his offer to align and instead attacked him violently? How disparaging must that circumstance feel to a man that wishes to retain his World Championship, no matter the cost?

Jasper will want vengeance. He’ll want revenge. In the meantime, whilst he hungers for it, he’ll suffer. If only he lived by the motto…

It is what it is.”

[Doom steps onto the wooden chair and ties his work around a wooden beam above.]

“Harold Attano seeks his daughter in the hands of a man that refuses to relinquish her, but more than that, he seeks her when she wishes not to be sought. He looks for what does not want to be found and when he finds it, he is in turn spurned away.

How desperately must be want his daughter back? How must his heart break every time he sees her, knowing that she has absolutely no interest in his love?

If only he lived by the motto…

It is what it is.”

[Doom steps off the wooden chair, looking up and revealing a noose.]

“You people fail to realize the very simple concept of indifference and the truth is, had you, it would’ve made the difference. Instead, you allow men like myself and Klaus Way to craft a noose an place it above your heads.

We’re just waiting for the inevitability of you placing your head through it, so we can strike.

That’s why this trios match is nothing more than a singles match. It’s a contest between myself and Klaus Way; two men who truly believe in the sentiment, it is what it is.”

[Doom chuckles and walks away.]

“And in the end, all will kneel before Doom – even Klaus Way.”
