[We find the Killer King sitting in a small dark room in front of a table. On top of this table is a box of figurines.[
[Jasper reaches in the box and pulls out the figurine of a young teenage superhero.]
“There was once a young boy who had no one. No family. No friends. He spent all of his nights standing in front of a mirror, pretending to be a big shot.”
“He dreamed of a better life. A life where he would walk down the street and those around him would turn their heads and shout their name.”
“He tried everything to get noticed. He picked up a mask and pretended to be a superhero.”
[Fumbling around a box, Redgrave pulls out more figures, creating a scene before us as he speaks.]
“For months, the young boy tried to make a name for himself..”
“If a woman was mugged on the street, you better believe the little boy was right there to chase the robber down.”
“Yet no matter how hard he tried, the little boy couldn’t stand out.”
“No matter how many petty criminals he put to shame or how many lives he may have saved, nobody even so much as looked in his direction.”
[Redgrave swipes his arm across the table clearing it of the figures he had set up all but one. The figure of the little boy.]
“A dark cloud took the town by storm. Word from a neighboring town was that something wicked was approaching.”
“Something big, monstrous and powerful.”
[Another figure is slapped on the table. This one is much bigger than the others.]
“A goliath was headed to town and there was only one person who stood a chance in all of the town.”
“Yet when the towns people called his name, the young boy was no where to be found.”
“The cries of his peers as the goliath destroyed their homes was unanswered by the young boy who wanted nothing more than to be considered a hero.”
[Redgrave leans back in his chair into a resting position, a smug smirk on his face.]
“I’m reminded of this story because of you, Destructo.”
“From the beginning, you dawned a mask and pretended to be some sort of superhero.”
“You vowed to find the culprits behind your mother’s untimely death.”
“And on one hand, you did deliver on every promise you made, but at the cost of your dear old dad.”
[Redgrave shifts in his chair a bit.]
“Last week, they finally knew your name.”
“When the man who had shown you kindness and supported you through some of your toughest times was in need of a savior, in need of a hero, they called your name.”
“Destructo!”
“Destructo!”
“Destructo!”
“But there’s no more kid hiding behind a superhero mask is there?”
[Jasper smiles as he leans forward.]
“Last week was the town’s warning.”
“Something wicked this way comes at Warzone.”
[SLAM!]
[A balled fist comes crashing down on the figure, smashing it.]
“I am the goliath.”
“And this week, I’m coming to destroy the town.”
[Jasper gives a trademark laugh of mania.]
[Fade.]
