Where There’s Smoke…

NoxNox, Promo

Do you know why they tell you to crawl on the ground when trapped in a fire?  The smoke above you is far more deadly than the flames around you.  All it takes is one deep breath and you’re coughing and gagging in fits until you find yourself immobilized by the smoke around you.

The smoke will consume you, filling your lungs with toxins as that inferno burns around you threatening to cremate you where you lay.  All the while it’s a race as to whether or not you die of the burns on your skin or smoke inhalation.  You gasp for air wanting another sweet breath of oxygen to give you the strength to push you forward, giving you that next step to get yourself to safety.  But hope fades slowly but assuredly it empties from your being.

That’s where you both are father and son surrounded by an inferno of questions you’ve been trying to fight off for months.  Wanting that next breath of knowledge and the oxygen it provides.  So desperate for the air that knowledge you inhaled to smoke that Destructo Boy brought you, Maxwell.  Following every dark alley and blind corner… huffing the toxins placed before you.  Chasing Master Ken, destroying his Dojo burning it to the ground.  You tormented an innocent man, killing his spirit and livelihood.  Before you, both, blinded by the smoke around you turned your fangs upon each other, sinking your teeth into each other’s throats.

Maxwell, you blamed James for the fire that has consumed your lives since it happened.  You accused him of burning his own home to the ground and taking his own mother’s life.  You were a blaze of accusations spreading the effects of my smoke wherever you went.  You nearly ended your boy, Maxwell covering him in gasoline and nearly immolating him alive before you beat him unconscious.

But let’s not forget who forced you to breathe that smoke from the first vial he was given.  Who was the one who gave you the first gasp that pointed you toward Master Ken?  Who drove you to burn down Ken’s Dojo?  Leading you to accuse him, to fight him, to nearly unalive him, because your boy Faith, well his hands aren’t so clean, are they?  Nah, but he was the first to breathe it in.

Because it’s been me, it’s always been me and Doom.  That suffocating smoke forces you to the ground.  Manipulating you both in each and every way and at Red Snow it’ll be no different.  This time you’ll breathe it in and the world will collapse around you quicker than your house did from that inferno.  As the smoke consumes you both once more and you’re back in those moments.  Enduring the pain and suffering as you cough and choke as the paranoia returns and once more, you’re set upon each other.  Immobilized by your own emotions as the toxins fill your lungs, we will be the inferno that finally consumes you.
