Enduring it All

In Promo, The Burned Man by Blaze

“I’ve been put through the wringer ever since I joined OSW. Throughout my tenure in this federation, I’ve been experimented on by a mad scientist, tortured by the denizens of Eden, and utterly destroyed by the most fearsome men and women to ever walk amongst Arcadia.”

“Just last week, I’ve been brutalized by Tombstone for defacing the cemetery and rescuing a certain immortal from his eternal resting spot. My head aches, my limbs feel weak, and I’m expected to get right back up and fight someone else in just a few short days.”

“Despite all that, it’s not the physical pain that hurts the most. It’s the mental anguish of knowing that it might all be for nothing if I don’t get Faith back.”

“He was the reason I kept fighting after my first match. Knowing that he survived the fire and tutoring him on heroics allowed me to keep pushing through the pain and humiliation I potentially faced every week.”

“Thinking that I might never see him again after his kidnapping hurts far more than anything the rest of the bastards in OSW can put me through. I felt like I was buried six feet under, much like Drewitt was not a couple weeks ago.”

“Unlike the Pilgrim, however, I was able to dig my way out. All I needed was the knowledge that he was still alive to get myself out of this rut and keep on fighting.”

“It wasn’t too long ago that you found yourself in a literal and metaphorical hole, Drewitt. I can only imagine the constant pain you felt when being killed by Tombstone, only to find yourself waking up with your injuries healed.”

“At the same time, I can’t bear to think about how you’re handling this mentally. Coming back to life after being shot, burned alive, and buried alive would completely break people. Especially ones that claim to have seen it all like you.”

“The constant physical pain and mental anguish you’re going through are incomparable to mine, yet you seem completely unwilling to dig yourself out of the proverbial hole you’re trapped in. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you were content with provoking Tombstone to kill you, despite knowing that it’s all for nothing.”

“You’ve been put through the wringer about as often as I have, yet you’d rather keep poking the bear to get him to kill you instead of forcing yourself out of that hole to find something worth living for.”

“I was the one that dug you out of the hole you were trapped in. If you’d rather stay in there for some asinine reason, then I’ll be more than happy to bury you once more.”

“You need a good kick in the ass, Drewitt. And I’m more than happy to kick it as hard as I can. When we meet in Olympus, I’m going to show you how I dug my way out of that six foot pit.”

“I’m going to show you that you shouldn’t waste my time unless you want to get burned.”
