The Usurper

“In the Red Light District, there was a worker in a prostitution ring that was planning a revolt against her pimp.”

“She and several other workers were tired of being paid less than their perceived worth and demanded an increase in their salaries. They also demanded free healthcare and homes in addition to their raise.”

“The pimp refused, which caused tensions to boil over when the news got back to them. Deciding enough was enough, she rallied the others into storming his office and beating him down. The attacks would continue until he either resigned or gave them what they wanted.”

“He ultimately decided to leave, allowing the woman that rallied the others to take power. They believed that under her rule, they’d end up getting what they overthrew their last boss for and then some.”

“Instead, she used her new position of power exactly like her former boss used to, only this time hiring enforcers to keep the ones she once considered friends from revolting against her.”

“The former lady of the night never intended on giving her coworkers what they wanted. She just used that as a reason to upend the system and take her boss’s place.”

“Just like someone else plans to use an Uprising as a guise to make Arcadia a better place.”

“Rumors have been spreading like wildfire that you’re the leader of said Uprising. If they are true, then you have rallied a bunch of angry individuals into thinking you can rule Arcadia better than the Baron.”

“Zeus might be a tyrant, but he at the very least provided some sense of stability and security in this Underworld. You, on the other hand, are a fashion designer turned revolutionary trying to usurp his rule.”

“We don’t know what your intentions are when it comes to ruling Arcadia. I’m sure you told your group of pissed off warriors what you plan on doing, but was what they were told really what you have planned?”

“What I mean is, do you truly intend to free us from tyranny and bring us peace from corruption? Or are you simply trying to take his place as dictator?”

“You managed to rally a lot of people that were angry at Zeus to free us from his iron fist, but there’s this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that believes you’re just eyeing his position in the House of Sovereigns. You’ll simply abandon those that fought by your side and ensure that no one else rises against you.”

“As long as there’s a chance of you ruling with a tighter grip, I can’t allow you to take power over Arcadia. You might promise us and your soldiers the world, but I know better than to take you at face value.”

“You won’t give us what we want. You’ll simply take his place and leave us to burn in the fire he started.”

“At Thunder, a future dictator will fall. And from your ashes, a hero will rise again.”
