Following a Ferryman: An Editorial

In Colt Ramsey, Promo by Colt Ramsey

Strange things have been happening in Arcadia, and Colt Ramsey has the scoop!

Attacks between citizens have been an ongoing occurrence for quite some time, but a recent death in The Slums has puzzled many within the community.

Why? Because the police arrived to find a body without a head…and clutching a mirror tight against its chest. With not a clue in the world as to the cause of death, Arcadia’s finest have ruled it a “freak accident” and left it at that…but ol’ Colt knows better.

Nothing in Arcadia is ever truly an accident.

Especially not in light of some of the weirder incidents recorded across all of Arcadia. Somehow, this death seems like only the latest in a string of allegedly random incidents.

Incidents like the Pussycat Club, where dozens of patrons were reportedly tossed about in the midst of a major scuffle. Arcadians are still left whispering and muttering about what transpired.

If that doesn’t jog your memory, perhaps Candylabs will? The ol’ factory itself, left in ruin after the death of Teddy O’Toole, where Arcadia PD was called to investigate a possible shooting…where they found something horrifying.

Blood on the floor, bits of brain tissue scattered near the stains…and nothing else. It left the police stumped until they were able to find information as to who that brain tissue belonged to.

A certain Explorer, who the public will recall was just kidnapped by the man at the center of all of these incidents…a Ferryman, if you will. The man who promises to send the dead on their way…Tombstone.

So let’s talk, Ferryman. Explain to me how you find yourself at the heart of such curious happenings in Arcadia…and how you’ve ended up in the viewfinder of a master journalist.

Tracking these events was no easy task, Tombstone, but it was worth every bit of trouble to figure out the truth…that you’re covering your tracks.

How you did it remains a mystery to me. Such a big man as yourself couldn’t easily blend in with the shadows, but now? You’re in the spotlight, Ferryman…your tracks are plainly visible for the public eye.

I have a few questions remaining for you, that I sure plan to get answered when we’re in that ring soon enough. You talk at length about sending the dead on their way…but have you been nudging them from the outset?

Maybe given a guiding hand to bring them to that point in the first place? What happened inside the Pussycat Club, Candylabs, and in that very ring seems like very odd behavior from a man meant to be a mere courier.

What decisions did you make for them?

And will the mirror of the slain Slums citizen reveal YOUR reflection, when the truth is finally found?

Because the truth always comes out eventually, Ferryman. Sometimes it just takes a bit of digging…and Colt Ramsey has just the right shovel for the job.

I will get my answers, Tombstone, because the people deserve to know.
