Doors

In Promo, Tombstone by Tombstone

In the middle of an open area of woodland, three doors reside. They stand side by side, each ajar, neither with anything in front nor behind them.

Tombstone stands before them with his hands on his hips.

Three doors.”

“And a choice that you must have made, Gemini. Everyone does.”

He walks to the first one and places his hand upon the handle, pulling it open to reveal darkness.

“The first door is the dark way. The door of evil intentions. This door leads to harm and hatred. Choosing this door is choosing a path of least resistance. It is cowardly, not brave. When you walk through it, the darkness consumes you.”

Tombstone goes to the middle door, opening it. Inside is grey.

“The second door leads to neither good nor bad intentions. It is amicable and receptive to the challenges of the doors either side of it. It is neutral until good or bad is chosen. Most choose this door.”

Now Tombstone approaches the third door. He opens it, revealing a bright white light.

“The third door leads to good intentions. It leads to serving and helping others. It’s a dedication to making good choices. It’s basking in the light of doing the right thing and being a good person.”

He steps back.

“But what no-one tells you is that when you walk through one of these doors, you also return by the way of one.”

“The decision of your final resting place is not decided by the door you chose to walk through, but the door you return by.”

“Gemini, you always appeared as if you left through the door of good intentions, but I know otherwise.”

“You left through the middle door of indecision, like most. Your dueling personalities make that apparent. Yet you were compassionate. You chose to support others. You stood by your friends and gave haste to good decisions. Kaiju Chiba loved you and you loved him.

Tombstone fully closes the third door. It locks.

“But then you chose to do precisely the opposite. You murdered Kaiju and you destroyed the Red Light District. You took soul upon soul and rendered them bereft. You’ve been a pestilence to Arcadia, invading the happiness with bile and bacterium. You’ve kidnapped Igor and then you emerge in challenge of my Championship, all whilst searching for a door.”

He the fully closes the middle door. It locks.

“It matters not what door you began this journey by going through, Gemini. The decisions you’ve made dictate the path you eventually trod. The darkness of which consumed any admirable qualities you once held.”

“Your sickly vile putridity vanquishes any light along the path. All there is within the gaping vortex of disease around you is hatred and ill intent.”

“Never once considering what door you’d be returning by.”

He looks towards door one, the dark path.

“I know what door that will be.”

“Because at Invasion, I will be the one to throw your carcass through it.”

“And when I do, that’ll be your end, Gemini.”

“You should never fear your end. You should always fear the door you return through.”

Because there I will send you on your way.”
