Sandcastles

In Jash Khan, Promo by Jash Khan

[There’s an eerie picture of something we’ve never seen before in Arcadia.]

[Jash’ voice narrates the scene.]

JASH KHAN: In the mythology belongin’ to my people, Arcadia had vast bodies of water called oceans. These oceans would lap up against little grains of sand.

[The image pans out to reveal the large body of sand.]

JASH KHAN: They called it a beach.

The story goes that a little bruddah called Inda sat on the beach with a bucket and spade, intent on makin’ a sandcastle. He spent hours on it. Hours in the life of a young blud feels like years, innit?

[The water is away from the beach, leaving a dark brown colour where the sand normally is.]

JASH KHAN: When he’d finally completed his sandcastle, he was proud. This little bruddah had built his finest creation. It took him what felt like a lifetime of hard work and sacrifice. Whilst his mates were playin’, he was buildin’. When food came, he stayed focused. He put everythin’ he had into this little sandcastle.

[Water suddenly comes thrusting in.]

JASH KHAN: And then the tide came in.

Oceans, ya see, they come in and out – somethin’ called a tide, innit. The tide came in and crushed the sandcastle. It broke it and washed it all away.

On that day, Inda learned two valuable lessons that our people are taught:

If you’re gonna build anythin’, build it on a solid foundation.

Beware the tide, it turns.

Marky Mark, you ain’t gonna like this bruddah but you’ve spent years buildin’ a house on a weak foundation. You ain’t been in a place like this before. You don’t come from these levels, innit.

The way things work round here, you ain’t know. You’ve come in with this house built on the back of former glories and success but in Old School Wrestling, that don’t mean shit bruddah.

You beat Spiros last week and ya know, that surely gave you enough false confidence in your foundation to believe that it was solid. That things weren’t crackin’ or breakin’.

But you ain’t see me comin’, bruddah. I’m the bloody tide, innit?

And at NXT Level this week, the tide comes flashin’ in at high speed and with a velocity that only the toughest of foundations can withstand. Your little sandcastle, built on former glory and past success? Well bruddah, my tide is gonna roll right over that.

I’ve got the wrath of Khan for you, innit.

And it’s tidal wave your little sandcastle won’t be able to survive.

[The image disappears.]

[Jash Khan closes a book and looks up at the camera. Mr. Hollywood, one of his Indian cronies with blonde hair approaches.]

HOLLYWOOD: You want us to do anything about Narcissa, boss?

JASH KHAN: Nah, no ting needs doin’, bruddah. Our foundation is solid. She can’t wash it away.

[Hollywood nods.]

[Cut.]
