Fairness

When Zeus and I got married, we made sure to include what was most important to us in our vows.

For Zeus, it was loyalty above all else. No matter what happened, he wanted me to be by his side.

I respected that as long as he honored what was most important to me and that wasn’t loyalty or honesty or even love, it was fairness.

When he said I do, it was not just a declaration, it was a promise.

If he kept his end of the bargain, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

He expected loyalty without being loyal himself.

When he showed how little loyalty truly meant to him, I made sure to show him how important fairness was to me.

He had new girls, I had new men.

He gave me less time, I gave him less time.

He killed our relationship in the way of death by a thousand cuts.

I added a thousand more.

He hurt me in a way I don’t wish on anyone besides him.

Look at everything that has happened this last year and while I do it for justice now, the catalyst for the uprising was the need for fairness.

I bring this up to you now because you share this deep need for fairness as I do and while I can respect you for it, I have to ask with that knowledge before you, do you still want it?

If so, it’s not going to be based on what you’ve done to me, it’s going to be based on what you’ve done to Lucky.

This is a man who just got out of the worst place in Arcadia and you chose to not only make him feel trapped again but torture him as well.

An intelligent man such as yourself should know where I’m going with this.

I once again ask you do you want fairness or the odds to just be more in your favor?

Do you want fairness or simply a lack of interference?

You should have chosen your words more carefully Lamplight because when I said understood, it didn’t have only one meaning.

You took it as I agreed to your terms and while that’s true, it’s not the whole truth, I understood and like so many others before you, you underestimate what I understand.

I understand what I must do not only for myself or Lucky but for the entire Uprising who’s itching for a reason to go out and just cause chaos.

I understand I need to show them why I do things the way I do and what I’m willing to do for them.

I hope you can understand that you’re about to feel the fairness that even the most powerful man in Arcadia fears.

Just like you’ve done with Lucky, I am going to make every part of you endure immense torture to the point of your entire body collapsing.

You want fairness?

I’ll gladly give it to you.

Just remember when your whole body is cracking into pieces and fragile doesn’t even come close to describing how you feel, you asked for it.
