Castles

Most men desire to build one.

Dr. Death decided to start with a solid foundation. He took his early life of disappointment and struggle, turning that into the basis for his castle. For years upon years, he built on that foundation with his unorthodox and barbaric means of medicine.

He attained legacy and prestige. Brick by brick, that castle began forming. Nurse Frightengale, El Mariachi Muerte, the Tag Team Championships and finally, the Old School Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship were all bricks in the castle walls that formed it.

With every brick, the castle became bigger. It was the home he did not have as a child. When it was finished, he was in the upper crust of society.

Until those bricks began to crack and break. Until his heavy handling of them meant they were no longer fit to serve purpose in his castle.

Jackson Cade on the other hand did not start with a solid foundation. He did not believe he needed one. With the hubris of a young man, his castle began post-haste, with very little planning. He did not consider what bricks he’d need to make it work – he just rushed into its construction.

Jasper Redgrave would be the basis for his castle. It would be the basis for his entire career. All he needed to do what find and tame this deadly and treacherous type of brick and his castle would be the greatest that anyone had ever seen.

But when that did not happen. When he could not find the brick he so desperately wanted to attain, his castle started to fall apart. Everything began crumbling. In desperation, he somehow found a replacement in the Old School Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship, but it did not fit. It was a solid piece of material, but in the wrong hands, it couldn’t save the castle.

Both castles are crumbling to the ground.

Dr. Death built his with bricks that he systematically destroyed, and Jackson Cade has haphazardly built his with a brick that he has no idea how to utilize to its full potential.

And now, before our eyes, these castles are beginning to fall.

What of my castle, I hear you ask?

Well, I don’t need or desire a castle.

A castle fit for a King is an object of desire for those who wish to be King. It’s a place of status that indicates their power when they have but none. Men who build castles, whatever their foundation or construction, only do so when they’re incapable of wearing the crown.

I don’t need a castle.

Because I’m the King.

This crown of thorns upon my head decrees it. My hand raised in victory at Ring King, decrees it.

Hail to the King, decrees it.

And you two will bend your knee and hail.

You will meet your end.

But you should never fear your end, gentlemen.

For the end is where we meet.

And this King will send you on your way.
