Brethren, let me tell you the true terror of war. Tales have been told of men gathered with one intention among them…to conquer their enemy.
Together, they make their way to foreign territory, with a plan to destroy those who would oppose them, and take their land as a prize.
And so, they march on…and all the while, their enemy amasses the troops. This army is prepared to defend against the toughest challenge, and believe me…that challenge is about to come knocking on their doorstep.
The enemy arrives, their weapons at the ready to attack…and then, they charge into war. The defenders stand their ground, holding firm to their shields.
The invaders rush in, looking to state a siege then and there…but there is no immediate ambush on this day. Instead, the war drags on for ages, with both sides facing a severe mass casualties as time goes ever forward.
That, my brethren, is the real terror of war…that it never seems to truly come to an end. It ebbs and flows in the level of violence over time, but the closest it ever comes to ending is a ceasefire following a drastic, cataclysmic event.
Such an event has been promised by Zion, finally breaking the endless cycle of war…and a select few have been called to usher in this change. Those who answer the call have been given the shield of faith, protecting them against even the mightiest of challengers to Zion’s new Arcadia.
I stand before you as one such responder, brethren…and I see before me the epitome of War itself, knocking at our doorstep. Drewitt, a man of many travels, has come with the intention of bringing violence to our corner of Arcadia…but we will not waver.
Drewitt, you know firsthand the cycle of violence that comes from war. Mirroring your own cycle of life and death, there has only ever been suffering and the brief pauses in between…but you shall not enact that cycle upon us, O mighty traveler. I stand firm with my shield, ready to defend this house…and we must protect this house, brethren.
Your penchant for destruction will only serve to fuel your own downfall. Your arduous journey has brought you to such heights, only to allow you a swift and sudden drop into the abyss. This shall serve as your punishment for challenging the promise of Zion, because a man who is unable to die must suffer a fate worse than death.
No one will save you from what’s coming, Drewitt, not even your Apokalypsis allies. Your decision to put Zion to the test has isolated you from all hope of escape.
Only then will the cycle of destruction finally come to an end. We can stand tall, our heads held high as we look to Zion to usher in a new era of peace. That is the world Zion has promised to his people, and He has called upon Colt Ramsey to deliver on His promise…by putting an end to war.
