Gluttony

In Promo by Sir Bellator

“A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls. Easily over-thrown.”

The Word warns us of temptations of the flesh. Our salvation was bought at great cost, a life given on the cross so that we may be saved. With that, we are called to honour God with our bodies.

Yet not all can live up to this demand.

For some, the sin and temptation of this world is simply too great.

Dante could hear the food calling him from the buffet. He was the kind of guy that took ‘all-you-can-eat’ as a personal challenge. His plate, as always, was piled high and he greedily devoured each morsel from plate after overladen plate.

Yet the more he ate, the less satisfied he became. For there was more at the buffet he had not tried. There was a void inside his soul that he tried to fill with the things of this world, the temptation too much for the hungry man to overcome.

The price of his gluttonous sin ultimately cost him his health, as his strained heart finally gave in. The Hungry Man ate himself into a life of fame, but a sinner’s death.

For the word of God tells us that no immoral or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom. A greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Forgive her father, for she hath sinned.

You truly are your grandfather’s daughter, Ebony.
A glutton. On a fruitless quest to quench your hunger with the things of this world. Food is your idol, and you worship it. But like your grandfather before you, the more you eat the hungrier you remain.

‘Hungry girl’s gotta eat’, you say… But what are you really eating for?

Are you merely hungry, or empty inside your soul?

There’s always more at the buffet to try, always some new taste to experience to make you happy. Yet when you find it, you will only see the next morsel before you.

For such quests of idolatry only end up on a sinner’s path.

And Old School Wrestling is your new buffet.

You pile your plate high, your Jet Set buddies enabling your temptation along the way. Sinners paving the path of sin for each other.

Although your body does not show the signs of your indulgence as your grandfather’s did before you, your soul surely does.

For the more you indulge, the more you become like the city without walls. You cannot overcome your temptation, lest you fall into its trap. Ironically, the more you indulge your sin, the less satisfied you become. The more you eat, the hungrier you remain.

Through the teachings of Sir Vant, I eat of that which truly nourishes the soul. That which will fill the void you fruitlessly try to fill with temptations of the flesh.

The Kingdom that comes before us is not for gluttons.

You’re nothing more than a full stomach and an empty soul.

“Vayikra’s fattened lamb to slaughter.”

“And the fatter the lamb, the better the sacrifice.”

“In verbo tuo.”
