Hey all, Kenny here!
I wanna talk to you about…
SPACE!
I’ve always been fascinated by the subject, ever since I was a little Freeman.
All them sci-fi movies got me curious about what it’s like to leave this planet, and explore the heavenly bodies above.
Out beyond the visible sky, a vast collection of stars and galaxies…the closest of which are trillions of miles away from Earth.
They all seem so close to the naked eye…but we’ve only been able to experience the wonder through photography and footage.
Collected by way of several unmanned trips out to the stars, all we get in return are mere images of the real thing.
They say the technology we have would take us at least our lifetime to reach the nearest star…but what a trip that’d be, huh?
How would that even work?
You’d need to make sure that calculations were made precise, with little to no margin for error.
Only then could you load the ship with the rocket fuel, fly yourself out as far as that fuel can take you.
If you’re really lucky, you too can live amongst the stars.
And what then?
What would you do if you could actually experience the ecstasy of being out in the cosmos, far beyond this world?
Is the gamble of space travel worth the risk of being stuck out in the void?
Is the reward of living out your fantasy worth all the preparations needed for something with such slim odds?
I can just imagine someone accepting the offer of such a trip.
He’d load up on his own brand of, ahem, rocket fuel, and see how high it can get him.
I think I get where you’re coming from now, Captain Zappa.
This is some really heavy stuff to think on, and I wouldn’t want to ponder on it sober either.
The mysteries of space are so vast that just thinking about it is giving me a headache.
Hallelujah, where’s the Tylenol?
But then you’ve got guys that would know better than to take such a gamble.
They’d calculate things on the fly, realize the risk ain’t worth the reward, and fold before the countdown even got underway.
Interstellar travel is an intriguing dragon to chase, Wild Karrde…but I don’t blame you for being calm and collected.
Something as mysterious as this is not something to just roll the dice on willy-nilly.
But, in the words of the great poets Smash Mouth, you’ll never know if you don’t go.
And, I cannot stress this enough…you’ll never shine if you don’t glow.
Because that’s the dream, Freebirds.
To not only travel amongst the stars, but to shine the brightest.
Bringing the Captain and ol’ Dub-K back down to earth, where they belong.
Where space remains but a collection of images.
I might not be an astronaut, but I know a thing or two about being a star.
And, being the All-Star that I am, I’m about to get my game on.
