Karen…

In Damien Wolfe, Promo by Damien Wolfe

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.

It’s a saying that’s gotten me through life.

For instance, a woman walked into my office, think her name was Karen, and she asked me to approve something.

Now, as I’m reviewing the situation, and she tries to push me.

First, she starts by begging me for my approval.

Next, she starts cursing at me, calling me every nasty name she could.

Then, came the final straw, she mocked me.

She took her fingers made them into faux glasses to mock my appearance, while mocking my voice, and insulting my intelligence.

To top it off, she threatens my job.

When I say that I’ve all the stroke around here, I mean it.

That day, life sucked for her, not only did Karen walk away without approval but with a stroke of my pen, I leveled six different tax penalties on her.

She left my office with not a credit to her name.

Felix, I think this story mirrors our relationship thus far.

You come to me and you ask me to bring your show back…

I reject it at first, the budget wasn’t there…

Then you implore me to reconsider, and I do because, I can be a nice guy like that.

All the while you insult me through your puppets…

Call me names…

Ridicule my job…

Swear at me…

And I take it because that’s who I am Felix, a professional above all else.

But then I see it…

The puppet, Conservator Wolf

You used him to pillory me…

To deride my intelligence and drag my name through the muck and mire not just behind closed doors in my office…

Oh no, you did it in front of all of Arcadia.

You did all of it why?

Because you couldn’t leave well enough alone.

You couldn’t trust the process, and let it play out.

No, you had to poke the bear, and with all this red-light nonsense, now you threaten my job, my position, and my life.

Felix, I really hope all of this is getting through to you as I want you to understand, what comes next is all your own doing.

Because, it’s my turn and the pen’s coming out.

And I’m going to make sure that after you and I finish this that you don’t just walk away credit-less, Championship-less…

No when I’m done with you, you won’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

When I finish Foley’s fable forever, he’s going to be doing puppet shows on the corner with a sign that says, “Will Perform for Food”.

I’ll drive your life lower than Bleaks and you’ll never want to show your face in public again.

As I am going to make sure of one thing:

Sticks and stones will break your bones, and your words will come back to hurt you.

You’re going to find out the palm of my hand holds the stroke of Arcadia.

Because my pen is mightier than any words you level at me.
