Tundra

Tucker Goode, can you do me a favor?

Close your eyes and picture this.

Imagine a world that’s clandestine and pure. A world that hasn’t been ruined by the worst of humanity. Unscathed, this world elicits wonder and joy. Even the ground is clean, snow covers everything, a perfect representation of how untouched this dreamlike utopia is. In this world, there’s no temptations, no warm embrace from a wicked world. You don’t have to worry about all the disgusting things you hate.

Can you see it?

This is the deepest part of the Tundra, it calls to you as it called to me.

Here, you can enjoy seeing the world as it was meant to be.

You don’t have to worry about anything you despise here, sex can’t happen when nudity ensures a quick realization of your mortality.

You don’t have to worry about how the world will corrupt you or take away from your joy.

You can just be. For the first time in your life, you can truly just be.

It’s exhilarating, isn’t it?

Sadly, it’s not possible, it’s unscathed only because people can’t live there.

Realize what I did, this is only a fantasy, Tucker Goode, a fantasy built up by those of us who were exposed to a traumatic upbringing and needed an escape.

It calls to you because as cold as it is, it can’t nearly be as cold as people, right?

It can’t hurt you like they have, corrupt you like they have, ruin you like they have.

I know there’s pain there because there’s pain here as well.

If it wasn’t for the kingdom finding me and showing me the good in people, I might be trying to censor the world like you.

You wouldn’t have to target me like you targeted my brethren.

You wouldn’t have to abduct me, I would have came to you in open arms and have a similar worldview as you.

I definitely thought about why parents procreated when they couldn’t nurture their own flesh and blood.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you had those same thoughts as abstinence has consumed you and you won’t even look at the woman you love the way a husband should.

You can’t abstain your way to a happy life.

Free yourself from that control and damage and enjoy life the way it should be enjoyed.

I know it’s hard when the tundra isn’t just a place you want to be, it’s who you want to be.

Untouched, unscathed, and unbroken, it won’t happen.

All you can do is love the person you have become and free yourself from the shame that was placed on you so long ago.

The world and its people can’t be good to you if you don’t let it be.

The tundra is untouched but it’s also unloved, if you let the world touch you and melt away this cold exterior, growth is possible.

Free yourself from your cold ideals and embrace the warmth you deserve.

Let yourself and your relationship grow.

That’s how you can finally enjoy the world we’re forced to be in.

Remember, my friend, you can’t make a garden in the snow.
